View Full Details of Bluebell ManorMy mum has been a resident at Bluebell Manor Care Home for a few years now. Myself and extended family members have been impressed from day one with the level of care provided to my mum by the staff. The staff treat all residents with the utmost respect, care and compassion. No matter what time you call, either in person or on the phone, you are met with a warm welcome. We are so grateful to everyone at Bluebell Manor Care for everything you do.
My grandma is in for respite after a fall, I was a bit dubious after I'd heard bad reviews but there were no places in Cramlington where we wanted her, this was all that was available. The drive up is very steep but plenty of parking! We often park in the town centre and walk over for a bit of fresh air, a nice 10-minute walk. You need to be let into the home which is good security! The manager is friendly and staff say hello. I've found the activity coordinator and lady that works in the kitchen very friendly, helpful, are very welcoming and will do anything for you! My grandma's very stubborn but they are encouraging her to join in which is a great relief to us she's not just sat in her room. She does struggle with some staff but I think that's more because she's deaf. Her room's nice and we could change it around but only downside is she doesn't have her own bathroom where others do, which seems unfair when she's paying same price. Room and clothing are always clean and home doesn't smell like some do.
My mum has been a resident at East Riding since January 2019 and subsequently has been through the recent inspection and changes. Although the home was deemed by the inspection team as being inadequate in several departments I always thought that my mum was in good hands. Now, however, I can see the improvements that have been made and am very pleased with the improvement in staffing levels and overall care of residents. I know how hard the staff are working to ensure that East Riding becomes the kind of home we would all wish our relatives to live in. My mum is very old (over 100) and needs an awful lot of care and attention in all areas of her life and I cannot fault the staff for the way in which they constantly seek to make things as safe and comfortable for her as they possibly can. Under new management, I can see East Riding becoming a first-class 'home-from-home' for its residents.
Thank you to all the fantastic staff at the Bluebell Unit, you cared for my mam for 6 weeks, you all did above and beyond what would be the normal, you all were so kind and helpful. We could not have managed without you. A special hug to 2 members of staff, in particular, you were so special, 2 amazing people, dedicated, professional and caring, thank you so much.
My mother gets exceptionally well cared for. Her relationship with the staff, especially the chap, is wonderful.
When I first came into Millview it was like a 4-star hotel. Covid put paid to that. But since we got a new manager, things are a lot better. Still have some of the original staff and some new ones are good. The food is improving. I like the Activities Coordinator, she helps me a lot. Some of the nurses are very good and I like our new manager.
There has never been a time when I felt I was not helped. The bells have been answered so quickly. Nothing any problem. This is an incredible place and I am very lucky to have been able to come and gain more confidence. All the staff in every department have been most professional, thoughtful, and caring. We are not just a number. Each section communicates with the others and me. So everyone knows what is going on. A huge thank you to you all.
Wish I had been able to come here sooner.
I am very well looked after. Staff very helpful.
My nan was placed in this care home during the height of covid. She had the virus and also suffered from the early stages of cancer. She was very low, lonely and down because she had to leave her marital home, which she held on to after my grandad passed away, due to illness and was transferred to and from hospitals for months. Since being in the care home she has got her spirit back, she loves it there. She always talks about how lovely and caring the staff are and the chef's food is amazing. She has her own room with all her treasured possessions. The only thing she wants for, is to see her family when covid restrictions are down. I can't thank the care home enough for everything they do for her. Every single one of you is amazing, thank you.
The staff are professional, friendly and happy to talk at all times. As a family, we have no worries about Mam while in their care. Even through the pandemic and not able to visit as normal, we were/are kept up to date. And we’re very grateful to them all.
I have come from difficult times and overall I'm comfortable and I love living here. I enjoy the facilities, especially my Alexa.
I could not have been cared for better. Every member of staff has provided excellent care.
Clean, friendly environment. The staff are very attentive and respectful.
I like all the residents and staff. I like the food but butter could be better. My bedroom is big. I love the activities, they paint my nails and my hair for me.
When our mam first came to the home she was unsure. She stayed in her room due to COVID and we were unsure if she had it or not. Mam was upstairs and did not see anyone, and a week or so passed and Mam went downstairs. She mixed with others, ate food in the dining room, and phoned us with excitement that this happened. We were so happy as Mam had been in and out of the hospital for12 weeks, and 2 respite stays where she was not happy but since talking, eating, etc with other residents our Mam is well looked after. She can even walk better than she has ever done in months and she’s put weight on. She’s looking more like she did at the beginning of the year and since she had to pack her home up, the home allowed her to have some of her belongings with her to make it home from home. Everyone is so kind, from picking the phone up to answering the door. The carers are always kind and always willing to help. We have not been in to look round due to COVID but one day hopefully we will and see mam in her room.
From first visiting, when needing to select a home for my mum, we have always been impressed with the friendliness and support shown. My mother entered East Riding on 23 March. In the first few weeks, she was made so welcome and cared for admirably. Unfortunately, her condition deteriorated and she was unable to experience the full enjoyment and benefits East Riding brilliantly offer. Nevertheless, she has been and still is being treated with great dignity and extremely caring members of the team. It has been very comforting to have the support of the whole team at East Riding during this time.
My mam had been in East Riding Care Home for over 5-years, and the care and support over that time have improved immensely. The activities and kindness are immense, with lots of fun and smiles along the way. I know she is well cared for, and importantly, she is safe and secure. I would recommend this home without hesitation. A big thank you to all involved.
My father has been staying at East Riding Care Home since the beginning of April. I have to say the care he has been and is receiving is absolutely 1st class and even though I am unable to see my father due to COVID-19 restrictions I have been kept updated on how he is doing and even allowed to talk to my father on the phone. I have also been sent a lovely photo of my father from the staff there, which made me feel really happy, and also seeing my dad happy and smiling was amazing to see. I would definitely recommend East Riding, the staff really do go that extra mile for residents staying there.
I would recommend this care home to anyone. They have always been polite and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff arrange lots of activities and treat the residents as individuals. Their care is second to none. In fact, when my mother had a fall two of the staff sat on the floor with her until the paramedics arrived.
