View Full Details of Ashton Manor Nursing HomeMy mother stayed for a week's respite care. She was quite worried and reluctant to stay away from her home of over 60 years. She was treated extremely well by caring and attentive staff. After being so reluctant to stay anywhere, one of the first things she said after getting home was that she'd happily stay there again.
My father has one-to-one care at Ashton Manor Nursing Home. Whenever we visit with my mum, he is really well cared for, clean, the room is always clean and staff happy. There is always a sense of calm in the building and a big effort by staff to celebrate holidays, Halloween etc., with decorations and events. All staff are lovely and friendly, make us feel welcome. I know my father couldn't be in a better place and we feel lucky he is here.
When my husband first came to Ashton Manor Nursing Home, he was very unsettled and sometimes violent towards the staff. They were very patient and treated him with much care and compassion. He has dementia. He took a long time to settle. The staff worked hard to make him accept and be happy. Notifying me of any problems, mainly by phone - not in his hearing. We, the family, are extremely pleased with all the staff in this home. They always make us welcome when we visit and inform us of any problems as they arise. We are very happy he is in such good hands. He is very lucky but does no realise - but we do! We wish all elderly could have this amount of care and lovely, tasty meals.
I have been so impressed with Ashton Manor. Every member of staff is dedicated, friendly and always pleased to include me in the daily activities which are held morning and afternoon. The food is delicious and I can eat with my husband when I like. I have no hesitation in recommending this care home.
I have been a resident here since March 2024. I transferred here from care homes in another area where I experienced residency in four different care facilities. Ashton Manor has proven to be way ahead of anything in my past. It is clear that the staff are well trained, show understanding of resident's individual needs and respond to that. I have no reservations in giving them five stars.
We have been really impressed with the quality of care at Ashton Manor. The staff are so responsive and caring, food served is of really high quality. Dad has been helped to personalise his room to his liking. Staff are always welcoming and we can visit freely. It's of great comfort to know your family member is somewhere so safe.
The staff were all wonderful and friendly. I would fully recommend this care home to others who are finding it difficult to choose a home for their loved ones. We felt like were part of a family and the support and care we received were second to none.
Very caring and reassuring staff. Everyone I visit the staff are welcome and friendly. The nurses are very conscientious and now a new GP will visit weekly the care will be even better. I feel my mother is definitely in the best place, especially with the lively garden which is beautifully maintained.
The staff at Ashton Manor Nursing Home work as a team, they are welcoming, attentive, caring and considerate. They keep you updated on what is going on and try to entertain all the residents with activities throughout the day. The meals smell delicious and are very healthy, and those who cannot feed themselves, they always make sure that they are eating or drinking properly and encourage in a kindly way. The residence is clean and tidy and everyone plays their part with excellence. Full marks for a great team who, most of the time, are happy and interacting with residents.
My sister and I are delighted that our mother is in Ashton Manor; she has been there for nearly 3 years and we have found the staff to be consistently friendly, helpful, patient, and courteous. Our mother's room is cozy and clean (as is the whole place) and the increased assistance she needs has never been a problem. We feel it is a really well-run care home where the staff are genuinely happy and supported which leads to the residents feeling happy and relaxed. There are plenty of activities which take place, as well as trips out or entertainers coming in. We had to choose a care home during lockdown which wasn't easy, but we are SO pleased we chose Ashton Manor where our mum feels so well cared for; she is always saying how wonderful the staff are!
I have found the care staff very caring and helpful to residents and family, although the last 2 yrs has been very stressful with covid, they have managed very well. Resident needs are always met and the home has a very good atmosphere. We are very happy to have found a place in this home for our relative.
Good clean home, very helpful staff. Feel happy to leave my sister in their care. The chef is very considerate and visits to ensure my sister has what she wants. Nothing seems too much trouble for the staff to sort out. Very prompt if my sister needs additional help or medication for her sickness bouts.
My mother has been a resident of the home for more than two years. She has Alzheimer’s disease and is not ambulatory. Overall, my mother has received an outstanding level of care. The staff and facilities available at the home are excellent.
My wife and I were impressed by the care given to my mother who has been a resident of Ashton Manor for nearly a couple of years. We have visited her regularly and each time have been very happy with the care and attention she has received. My mother has demanding care needs and they have been met by members of staff at Ashton Manor to a consistently high standard. The staff are friendly and welcoming and they have treated my mother with respect and thoughtfulness. Everywhere is clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, due to my mother's condition, she is unable to take part in the Home's planned activities but we are aware of them via the regular newsletter and updates. Had she been able, she would have enjoyed taking part in the wide range of activities available to residents. We would like to thank everyone at Ashton Manor for their high standard of care and dedication.
This is a wonderful home, very caring and responsive, and compassionate. The manager is a very easy person to talk with, she listens, is non-judgemental, and a well-chosen person and with overall care of this home from home. My mother has been very well cared for and treated with respect and shown kindness every day. It is thanks to Ashton Manor that she has been with us for so long. It is a place full of hope and vibrancy, not a place of the end of our days, quite the opposite, a place of life, in the midst of life, embracing every day and respecting everyone who lives there as an individual with much to offer.
My mother has been a resident at Ashton Manor Nursing Home for the past two years and my two brothers and I have nothing but praise for the care afforded to her during that time. Throughout the management and the staff, they have shown a high degree of professionalism, dedication and transparency, which does them credit and is reflected in my mother's content and settled demeanour. There is always a healthy willingness to share and update information with me on a regular basis and management and the staff have always adopted a friendly and open approach at all times. I cannot praise them more highly and wish to pass on genuine gratitude on behalf of all of our family.
I live some hours away from Ashton Manor where my mum lives. I have really appreciated the ongoing care that all the staff at Ashton Manor have given to mum, particularly throughout the pandemic year 2020/2021. The regular updates by email from management, admin staff, and the activities team have helped me keep in touch with how my mum is doing. When I visited in April 2021 (for the first time in a year), I was greeted from afar by a number of staff who all remembered who I was and asked after me. Their concern and personal touch in all that they do for residents and their families are amazing. I am so glad that mum is based in their safe and loving care at Ashton Manor.
Mum came in a year ago and we had little choice of care homes due to Covid. However, what a blessing this turned out to be! For someone who was very anti care homes in general, Mum settled in very quickly and joined in with other residents and activities on offer, and is now very happy. All staff are very friendly and caring to residents and to visitors. Ashton Manor is very well led and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. Previously we looked at many care homes for other relatives in different parts of the country and Ashton surpasses all those we have seen! I am so pleased that Mum is in Ashton Manor from a care and a safety point of view - their care and safety measures implemented because of Covid-19 have been exemplary. Thank you, staff, from a very grateful and appreciative relative.
The Nursing home took my mother in at short notice on 22.12.19 after her home care package became unsustainable. Since that day the Home has provided first-class care to my mother. The Home group supported my brother and I whilst we sold my mother’s house in lockdown (nor’easter). Prior to Covid, I was able to visit and witness the high level of staff engagement and commitment to the residents. Since Covid, the Home has protected all the residents admirably, whilst maintaining good links with family and friends via Social Media and a visiting system appropriate to the risks involved. The Home manager appears to be a first-class leader supported by a fantastic team around her, who are enabled and trusted to perform their roles with confidence. My review may appear a bit inspection speak, it’s what I used to do within a different Government body! In conclusion, a first-class team and organisation, who have my full support and gratitude.
My friend, who is in his late eighties with dementia, has been a resident at Ashton Manor for three years now. The friendly supportive care he has received and the quality of service provision has been excellent and sustained as he has gradually declined over this time. As I live 25 miles away I rely on good communication from staff to ensure I am up to speed and this has been very good. They also helped knowledgeably with various form filling exercises required initially. During the pandemic this year the leadership and staff have coped admirably in keeping residents safe and have managed visits, at first outside and recently inside, in line with best practice to keep vital visual contact maintained. Notable is the good humour and commitment of the staff team, which extends to friends and relatives too.
