View Full Details of St George's Nursing HomeI cannot rate St George's high enough. All the staff are caring, competent and supportive. My father was looked after admirably. The staff made my father's last days as comfortable as possible, just like they had from the first day he went there. I'd recommend St George's to anyone who have a loved one that needs care. Thank you to all at St Georges.
My mother is a resident at St George's. She is very elderly and frail and no longer able to stay in her own home. We have found the care to be excellent, my mother always looks clean and is made as comfortable as she can be. The staff are very pleasant and attentive.
Mum has been a resident of St George's for over 5 years. She is 105 years old now and requires full nursing care. She receives, and always has received, excellent care and every effort is made to make her feel comfortable and at home. I have full confidence in the staff at St George's. Everyone is very friendly and approachable. I know that Mum is safe and well cared for at all times.
My Mum settled fairly quickly into St. George's and her overall health has improved greatly there is always the opportunity to discuss health concerns with nursing staff and a gp visits weekly. When I visit her weekly I am always made welcome and everyone knows who I am and who my Mum is. Her friends visit too. The food is well cooked and there is always a choice, Mums room is bright and warm with an en-suite bathroom. She has a comfortable bed and some of her own belonging in her room. There is something going on most afternoons and Mum enjoys the yoga and the quizzes. The staff are so friendly and caring and Mum feels she can ask for help with anything. The whole family feel a sense of relief that Mum is well cared for and safe with wrap around care and attention.
The care and compassion shown by all the staff at St.George's towards not only the residents but family and friends alike is outstanding. The premises are spotlessly clean and the vigilance and thoroughness of the nursing staff is exemplary. My family feel that we made the very best decision in choosing St George's staff to look after my husband and he is very happy and cared for. We feel truly blessed to be part of the St.George's extended family and to have access to such a fine nursing home.
We began by using the home care visits and when this was not enough support my mother became a resident. Without exception everyone has gone above and beyond to make my mum feel welcome and cared for. She has settled in wonderfully and feels safe and secure
Long before we needed residential care, out first impression of St George's was good - reception invited us to 'drop in at any time, and we will show you round'. This we did, and my husband was delighted with the way any members of staff we met, engaged with us. He has now been a resident for just over a year and I am welcomed to spend as much time with him as I want. The managers have an open door and are very understanding and responsive. Chef and his team provide excellent, tasty and generous meals and snacks. My husband's room is well furnished and, on a daily basis, the housekeeping staff both clean the rooms and wash, iron and return laundry, both to a high standard. A programme of activities is provided daily and run by a dedicated team and the maintenance team look after any issues quickly and efficiently. Finally, and most important, the carers are excellent - very competent, respectful and kind and, reassuringly, the night staff look in to check on residents every hour. I would not hesitate to recommend St. Georges.
My husband was transferred from hospital unable to talk or eat and drink and unable to walk or sit. He requires full care which is provided with great care and patience. Thank you.
I must start with the staff! They all, without exclusion, contribute to making St George's Nursing Home the quite outstanding home that it is. Care and concern for their residents is built in and it is a privilege to experience it day by day. The same attitude is apparent in the cleaning staff, the laundry, one must mention the leadership and ownership without whom standards would not be as exceptional as they are. A sincere thank you to everyone.
I would highly recommend St Georges Nursing Home. The staff are helpful, happy and friendly and very caring to the residents. The food is varied and good. There are activities should the residents wish to participate. There is a nice rear garden where they have barbecues in the summer.
My partner was admitted here from the hospital last Monday evening. He had been suffering agony from a problem with his catheter. It was a nightmare during which he was literally screaming all night at the hospital. I stayed all night but couldn't do anything. Well at last he was discharged from the hospital to St George's, it was a miracle! From hell to heaven! I still can hardly believe it! Thank you so much! You are wonderful people, so kind and caring!
My sister's care has been first-class since arriving here a couple of months ago and is settling in nicely.
St George's Nursing Home has a friendly and caring atmosphere. The staff always go the extra mile to accommodate the wishes and needs of the residents. When my mother passed away, the support and constant company from the care staff, nurses and activity department was amazing. The activities department, headed up by one gentleman, always has time to talk to Dad.
Two weeks stay post hip operation - excellent care in all aspects.
I have never met so many caring, loving staff as I have here. They are so helpful; they make my mum so welcome. It's like home-from-home. Thank you.
I spent just over one month at this institution. The registered manager has a "can do" attitude and was ever so helpful to me and my family. The physio and hairdresser were kind and professional. Very impressed with the care.
Where do I start; what a wonderful home full of wonderful, kind and caring people. We have been very lucky to find such a wonderful home. My mum moved in just over a week ago, she has been to the care home for 11 years, but I wish it had been an option to move her sooner. She has settled in here very quickly and is very well looked after. All the staff, nurses, careers, reception staff, catering team and the handyman are absolutely amazing and will do anything to help; they have made not only my mum feel at home quickly but also me, which means a lot. I know my mum is being well cared for, and they are looking into ways to make things easier for her. Thank you from the bottom of my heart; it means a lot to know that Mum is happy.
My husband has Parkinson's and Dementia and is currently a resident in St George's. St George's is unique in that it has a clinically trained management team whose hard-earned experience has harmonised into a 'top-down/bottom up' management approach which focuses on staff training and prioritises residents' care needs. From the initial assessment to service delivery, all members of the St Georges's care team know what collaborative, patient-centred care is and more importantly, have the expertise and training to implement and deliver that. Astute nursing care, together with a team of carers and ancillary staff with a shared care ethos has resulted in the provision of a consistent, high calibre level of care which means I no longer need to worry about my husband's safety or well-being. That's important, given I had to terminate a previous respite placement with a another provider due to care concerns. Suffice to say, St George's has given me a fresh perspective on residential aged care.
My friend has been in St George's on three occasions for respite care, she has been in other care homes previously, but St George's is the one I am most happy with if she has to be anywhere other than at home.
How very lucky we have been finding St George's for my mum. The staff are exemplary every day, and it feels like a warm, big, happy family, and they are always available for us. Mum has had depression for 22 years and dementia. St George's have worked their magic - got her out of bed and mixing with people and joining in all the activities - it truly is a miracle.
