View Full Details of Capel GrangeMy grandpa was here for a few months and the care he received before his passing was exemplar. I cannot express how grateful our family is to the carers and staff who look after every resident. They are always willing to help and were all very helpful in arranging undertakers and general practitioners and the comfort they brought my mum and gran (daughter + wife) was superb. Thank you Capel Grange.
My Mother received exceptional care in 2019 and as a result, I have now placed my husband at Capel Grange. The care is wonderful and the staff and atmosphere are great. They have also given me such good support.
If you are looking for a care home that puts an emphasis on care, look no further. My mum has been in this idyllic care home since August 2023. Personally, I have had experience with 3 other care homes in the area due to other family members, so I wasn't expecting the level of care my mum receives at Capel Grange. Each and every staff member I speak to, from the manager down to the cleaners, is so lovely. The primary carer of my mother is outstanding and regularly updates me on how she is when I'm not there, or if she needs anything. I feel confident that when I'm not there my mum is well looked after, talked to, and treated like a member of the Capel Grange family. There are activities for those who wish to participate, a choice of lovely food and all the essentials like hairdresser and chiropodist. What more could I ask for? Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
I was able to move my Aunt to Capel Grange in January 2024 and l am so relieved that my Aunt is living in a wonderful environment. The Manager, the staff, and the maintenance man are all top-dollar, and cannot fault their care and consideration. There are activities, entertainment, and outings for those who are able, it is the best. The residents have a choice of menu for mealtimes, there are snacks and drinks always, and the staff is always intermingling with the residents and quick off the mark if necessary. There is a hairdresser, a chiropodist on a regular basis, and of course a Doctor available. I am kept informed should any query arise. I cannot praise Capel Grange enough, my Aunt was previously in another home that isn't a patch on Capel Grange. Thank you staff including the kitchen, the laundry, and of course cleaners, you all do a tremendous job which makes Capel Grange, the best!
I was so lucky to find this home almost by accident but a good accident. It's a lovely home with the most outstanding staff at all levels. The homely atmosphere and relaxed feeling make it a home from home. My husband has settled well this last year and is well looked after. Capel Grange has made an awful decision to make for any wife to make into the best thing I could have done for my husband. Can't fault it.
My mother has been living at Capel Grange Care Home for nearly four years and it has been a very happy experience both for her and for her family, who can confidently entrust her to the carers at Capel Grange. The manager and her staff are consistently helpful and considerate to my mother's needs and look after her with a happy spirit at all times. She is listened to sympathetically, she can have her meals in her own room if required and medical services are always on hand if needed. We are always made welcome when we request a visit, sometimes at very short notice. If any emergency arises, however small, we are always contacted and kept well informed. She has her own personal telephone landline which is very useful to her as she is unable to use a smartphone, although video calling is available if required. The staff go the extra mile and accommodate my Down's brother who spends some time with her on a weekly basis. Thoroughly recommended, an excellent care home.
When we knew that mum could no longer remain safe at home we started looking at care homes local to Tonbridge. The moment I walked into Capel Grange I knew it was the right place for her and now nearly a year later I am so happy that we found Capel. The manager took the time to find out more about mum and was brilliant helping us in the transition from home to moving to Capel Grange. The atmosphere at Capel is warm, friendly and homely. The staff genuinely show their care for all the residents. Mum settled into the life of Capel Grange quickly and I think this is a testament to the way the staff are and the ethos of the home. The activities for the residents are great and mum enjoys joining in whatever is going on. I especially love the fact that there are many areas where mum can sit and have company around her. Communication regarding mum is very good and the manager always listens and is extremely hands on and proactive. I would highly recommend Capel Grange.
Mum has been living at Capel Grange Care Home for nearly eighteen months. All the staff we have met have been cheerful and friendly. Mum is very happy and has said “she feels so blessed to be living in such beautiful surroundings with such kind people”. We would like to thank all the staff for their continuous loving care.
Mum is very comfortable and content in the home. She is well cared for and I don’t need to worry about her. She loves the meals and can always ask for alternatives. The carers are her friends. I am always kept informed about any problems.
The staff at Capel Grange are very friendly, caring and considerate and have been very supportive to my mum and her family during a time when difficult decisions had to be made. She is now settled and happy and we know she is safe and well looked after.
The care my dad receives at Capel Grange Care Home continues to be wonderful, the staff are so considerate and caring to his needs and he is very happy there. The residents are treated like family and I too feel like I am part of the family as the staff are so friendly and welcoming when I visit. The grounds are beautiful and Dad and I enjoy time spent together enjoying the lovely surroundings in the spring sunshine. The activities staff keep Dad busy and stimulated and he very much enjoys the home cooked meals. Dad has thrived since his move to the home, I am very happy with Capel Grange, as is Dad.
Capel Grange Care Home was our first experience of the care system. They took my mother at a time when she needed a lot of support and we were unsure if they could provide what we needed. They took on board all of our concerns and provided all the care she needed and more. Since being at Capel Grange she has been seen by the doctor regularly and the district nurse when required. We have a close relationship with the staff who we have got to know over the past year. These are people who truly care about the elderly, they have looked after us as well as our mother. If we have any concerns I speak to the manager who takes action. They have been lifesavers.
We have been very happy with the care given to my mother, whilst in Cape Grange. She has now been resident for two years and a gentle sympathetic approach is taken by all of the staff. I would recommend this home if you are looking for an intimate, caring approach.
As a family, we are extremely happy with the treatment my mother is receiving at Capel Grange. The management and staff at the care home are very welcoming in person, and very informative to us on the phone, which is a great comfort in this current pandemic.
I have LPOA for my uncle who is a resident there, as was my mother a few years ago. The staff are very courteous to both him and me, and even though I cannot visit easily as I live abroad I know many of them on first names and so can ask questions and get information back on his health on a day to day basis. He has had a few trips to the hospital but they have always been very quick to summon paramedics if need be. The home is a large house so the residents are more at home than if in a more modern hospital type of building. They have different activities arranged to help keep the residents more active and will encourage participation but not force them to attend. The advantage here is that should a resident get dementia there are trained staff available and the resident does not have to leave the premises, maybe just a more convenient room. The "cottage" where the day room is for the dementia patients has more staff per residents to accommodate their problems.
My mother has been a resident at Capel Grange for several years. Her care has always been given with compassion and understanding of her deteriorating mental condition. The family feel that Mum could not be in better hands, and are so pleased that she is able to continue at Capel Grange as her health declines.
My mum is at the end stage of Alzheimer's and has been a resident for five years now. My sister and myself had to move Mum from a previous care home as we were very concerned about the lack of proper care. Capel Grange has been a godsend. Over all the years we have visited Mum weekly and have witnessed only love and care from all members of staff. They have looked after Mum faultlessly, accommodating her changing needs. The family are grateful and appreciate all the hard work that the staff provide daily. I only wish all care homes were of such high quality.
We were fortunate to be able to gain a place for Mum here once it was clear she could no longer stay at home. Mum had Alzheimer's and needed to be cared for. We lived close by so were able to visit on a regular basis which made things so much easier. She was looked after very well and kept clean and tidy. We were encouraged to visit whenever we liked and helped, if necessary, to take Mum out into the lovely gardens for a change of scenery. Mum always enjoyed the patio in the summer and kept the staff amused with her determination to be outside. As Mum declined she was tended to with great respect and support called in if it was felt necessary. We couldn't have asked for a better home for Mum to end her days. Sadly, with her dementia, she didn't realise what a lovely place and surroundings she was in, having lived most of her life in the farming community, but all her visitors were thrilled to find her there and know it was the right place for her.
My mother is very content at Capel Grange, the staff really care and I am more relaxed because I know she is safe and in very good hands. What more can be asked for? Have been so impressed with the care and attention given, not only to the residents but also to me when visiting, made to feel like family. The staff are always on the go, always attentive and show amazing patience. I was particularly impressed last summer when building work, extending the kitchen and the laundry room, combined with the very hot weather made life far more difficult for the team and yet everyone was calm and efficient and the care was as wonderful as ever. The home is beautifully clean, the food is good and varied, with the staff offering options if residents are reluctant to eat, my mother is easy and wolfs everything offered! Capel Grange was highly recommended to us by a friend and also the manager of another home and I would certainly pass that recommendation on.
Mum has Alzheimer's and has spent 4 yrs here. It’s the BEST home you’ll ever find. The staff are fantastic, always attentive, patient, kind and fun, treating mum as if she were their own mum. Understanding and caring for all mum’s needs with great dignity and compassion. The home is scrupulously clean and never smells. It has great views onto a lake with wildlife. The residents are able to sit outside on the patio In the summer where they have lovely treats of ice cream and cream teas. You can easily push a wheelchair around the beautiful gardens. There are daily activities to keep residents stimulated; music, school choirs along with games and quizzes. Families are encouraged to join in for afternoon tea. The food is freshly made with good nutritional ingredients with a varied menu. I’m always warmly welcomed with a cup of tea to catch up on how mum is. I have no hesitation in recommending Capel Grange, its HOME from HOME, it’s the BEST!
