View Full Details of Frintondene Residential Care Home for ElderlyThe staff in this home are knowledgeable, caring, and thoughtful and have an excellent, holistic approach to care planning and appropriate delivery of all aspects of care. They have developed very thorough knowledge of my mother-in-law's very particular care preferences, and have a lovely way of encouraging her to maintain her independence, whilst keeping her safe. We are very grateful and very impressed with all aspects of care from the staff in this home.
My mother is a resident of Frintondene. its a "Home from Home" for her. She is looked after 24/7. The staff are very friendly, her room is very clean and food is delicious. Staff are very welcoming to family and her health needs are looked after.
My mother has lived in this home for well over a year and I am delighted with care which she has received. She has put on weight, loves the excellent home cooked food, and is always beautifully clean and well dressed. She enjoys the company of all the staff members, and they had done a great job keeping her young at heart and fully engaged with day to day life in the home. It is very obvious that the staff take a huge amount of time learning the preferences of their residents. The enthusiasm and professionalism of the staff is highly impressive.
My mother, 84, moved into the Frintondene Residential Care Home in early 2024 based on a recommendation from a friend. The home is warm, comfortable and welcoming and has an excellent location by the sea. Frintondene is family-run and all the staff are very friendly and professional, delivering high-quality care including (I'm told) great food. My mother loves her new home and her health and welfare have improved markedly since moving in. My sincere thanks to the whole team at Frintondene!
Frintondene is a well-organised family home. Homely atmosphere with comfortable surroundings and tasty home-cooked food. The staff are very caring to the small number of residents.
I have been here for 5 years or so I am perfectly happy to remain. If feel I am part of a family everyone is so pleasant and kind.
What a wonderful home-from-home Frintondene has been for my grandmother. She has been a resident for a number of years now, including during Covid, and I could not have wished for more love and attention to have been given to her. As she has got more frail and her dementia has worsened, their understanding, patience and ability to look behind the dementia to see the real person has been so comforting to me and often goes above and beyond what might be expected, particularly when she has bad spells. They have dealt with medication and hospital visits but always ensure they liaise with me to make sure I'm happy with everything and I'm kept fully informed (communication is very good). All the staff I've met are lovely and the food is great (according to my grandmother as well!). So glad that my grandmother is warm, comfortable and happy at Frintondene. Thank you for all you do.
My 96-year-old mother-in-law has been a resident of Frintondene since 2020. In addition to the usual needs of the typical 96-year-old, she also has dementia so requires additional care in this regard. Frintondene, being family friendly and compact suits her needs admirably. Staff are caring and supportive and nothing is too much for them to look after their charges whilst treating them as individuals.
We are all as a family of a resident extremely happy with the care that all the staff give. We are always made to feel welcome and nothing is a problem for them. My mother seems happy with her care and facilities and loves the food and her surroundings
One year on from my previous review of 14th November and I am still saying all the same things about this wonderful care home. My dad has Parkinsons disease and dementia and over the last year has had many struggles with his health. The staff at this home have gone above and beyond my expectations of care for both him and our family always putting my dads best interests first. They care for him personally, mentally and emotionally and this extends to us as well. They treat him and us as a family with love and respect and I trust them wholly with the care of my dad. I now feel like this is his home rather than a care facility and still feel like this was a gift given to us when we needed help. The food is very good especially desserts that my dad loves.
On entering the home, it was always clean, warm, cheerful and the staff were always helpful and professional. My brother was always happy there, from the first to the last day. If I was to go into a care home, I hope it would be like Frintondene Residential Care Home for Elderly.
This is the second time my mother, eighty-seven, has spent time at Frintondene Care Home! The home is exceptionally warm, comfortable and welcoming and in a beautiful location by the sea. The staff are all friendly, courteous and professional delivering a very high-quality service, food is great too. Will definitely recommend to anyone wanting a high-quality care home in a stunning location by the sea!
On two-week respite, could not fault it. The caring staff couldn't do enough for me with attention to my individual needs. Unobtrusive watch on my health. Homely and bright. Didn't want to leave.
At the time she was living in her own home, my aunt was unwilling to contemplate going into care, even when she needed it, and she resisted the idea strongly. However, as it turned out, she was entirely happy as a Frintondene resident. In July 2017 (when my aunt went to live at Frintondene), I wrote in an email to my cousin (her son) that: - "I was really very pleased to see how accepting, and indeed happy, she is to be in her new home. Entirely voluntarily she told me that "I am quite content here" and even that "I prefer being here to being at home". She clearly likes having everything done for her, and nothing for her to worry about. And she looked really well-cared for. My aunt's contentment as a resident continued to be the case until her peaceful death in November 2022, aged 103.
Mum was admitted to Frintondene from hospital at the beginning of the Covid outbreak. She was struggling to care for herself and had fallen several times at home to be discovered by visiting care staff in a distressed state. Whilst in hospital, recovering from the latest fall, it became clear that apart from her physical weakness she was suffering from a degree of dementia. It was clear that Mum could not return home on her own and be safe but her daughter in law knew the reputation of Frintondene and managed to secure a place for her for which the whole family is grateful. The staff managed her move with sensitivity at what must have been a confusing time for Mum and quickly discovered her likes and dislikes, strengths and limitations. Despite everything Covid related going on, Frintondene continues to deliver excellent care and provide a safe secure environment for the folks who live there. This is due to the high standards and dedication of the staff to whom we are all indebted.
Caring for the elderly runs in the family with this home and it shows. I had to deal with moving my mother during Covid which was really challenging but the team were full of ideas as to how to help from arranging a virtual tour of the property via laptop to somehow managing to have Mum’s room set up with her personal furniture and belongings only about half an hour after the removal men had left! They have kept up with all the changes in visiting guidelines and were one of the first to get the lateral flow test kits so that I could visit Mum before Christmas and now we’re back in lockdown it’s always easy for me to talk to her and find out from them how she is doing. I’m never made to feel that it’s a bad time and they’re happy to arrange zoom and skype calls if preferred. There’s always someone around for Mum to chat with and she is eating better than she has in years. The staff are full of compassion and genuinely concerned with what is best for their residents and family.
After a couple of falls at home, followed by a disastrous stay in hospital, my mother-in-law was lucky enough to be admitted to Frintondene. A very small home run by the same people for many years, it's by far the best in the area. Staff are kind and attentive, and the food is good (so I'm told!) They are giving my mother-in-law dignity, comfort and security, and everyone in the family is very grateful!
My mum has been at Frintondene for several years now and has never had anything other than super care in all aspects medically and socially.
My father has settled here happily. The home very much has a family feel and my father is a part of that family. The overall care is exceptional. We are all warmly welcomed when we visit and we leave knowing that he is in the best possible hands.
I have been a resident for well over a year or more and after the first months of settling down to a new way of being completely looked after, I found that I was completely happy with my new situation and at my time of life, very happy to be so comfortable. The food that is given to me at the appointed times suits me and I can only think of one example when I was a little upset and I recovered in half an hour.
