View Full Details of Alexandra Court Residential HomeMy father lived his final year at Alexandra Court after losing his wife. All the staff from top to bottom made his last year one of the happiest years of his life. Nothing seemed too much trouble to make sure that my dad was as comfortable as possible and you could see and feel that all the other residents felt the same when I visited. The staff take time to get to the resident's personalilities. Making the decision to move into residential care can be really difficult a decision for the resident and for the family concerned. However, I would recommend Alexandra Court to anyone as any doubts I had were quickly satisfied and it was a nice feeling coming to visit knowing my dad was so happy and well cared for.
My mum moved into Alexandra Court in 2021, due to Vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s. This was a difficult time and a big change for us all. From our first visit to Alexandra Court we knew this was the right place. We are so happy knowing that my mother’s changing physical and emotional needs are met and often exceeded! The cleanliness of the home is good. The food is of a great quality, freshly prepared and varied. They have a dedicated member of staff who looks after entertainment within the home. I subscribe and I am able to follow social media platforms and often see the activities and fun my mother is having, it's lovely to see! They are pampered and take trips out to local places of interest. The Health and Safety and security of the residents is clearly a priority. Communication between the home and my family have been very good, timely and professional. A fantastic place that is good enough for my mother! I would recommend Alexandra Court to anyone.
Fantastic care home, my grandad was only there a week before he passed away and he got fantastic care, when he was in hospital he asked us if he was going to go home and he meant back to Alexandra Court. Would 100% recommend this care home.

Beautiful enclosed patio area with patio outside furniture, pretty flowers and plants to engage residents, all essentials provided to all residents going outside sun cream hats etc for sun care. Spotlessly clean such beautiful aroma in all areas of the home! Wonderful management/staff always greeted with respect kindness and a big smile. Great activities day/night themed evenings, bingo, live music, cinema nights popcorn and wine, on-site beautician offering lots of pampering sessions! Beautiful bright and airy rooms, lovely extensive meal time menus providing lots of choice to accommodate each individual tastes. 5*.
Since Mum moved into Alexandra Court in June 2023 the staff have been amazing, caring and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Mum isn’t the type of person to get involved in the many activities that take place there, but they always make sure she isn’t left out when they think she might be interested in an activity. The home is very clean and well-maintained.
My father has been a resident for 2 years this month. The home provides an excellent level of care in all areas, including his particular love of music. He’s loving karaoke, something I’d never thought I’d see! His health is well monitored and I enjoy a great relationship with all the staff. I have just recommended Alexandra Court to a friend for her mother. Lovely atmosphere, well run and friendly where the resident's care and welfare is clearly the priority.
A beautiful residential home with wonderful, caring staff who go above and beyond to make residents feel at home and valued. Whenever we visit our mum, we are greeted with a smile and warm welcome. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for residential care.
All the staff in Alexandra Court are helpful, pleasant and care for my mother very well. The home is well run and the needs of the residents are carefully considered and met. It's a first-class residential care home.
Absolutely outstanding in every aspect of care and compassion and all staff are very polite and treat every resident and their families with such warmth and empathy. Would and will recommend to anyone needing a care home.
My mum lived here for three years and now my aunt has been there for 2 years. Their quality of care, concern and respect for residents has been consistently exemplary. The home is extremely well lead and managed by the owner/manager and there is a very homely feel to the place. The home cooking and choice of food is excellent. The entertainment and both mental and physical stimulation provided for residents is superb. Any issues raised about loved ones are always thoroughly and rapidly addressed. There have been a couple of occasions where the team have demonstrated total honesty and transparency about minor incidents that have happened between residents which only serves to promote confidence. I trust the manager and her team implicitly. The home is a credit to the whole team.
My mum moved into Alexandra Court July 2022 after the sudden passing of my dad. They care for the residents very well and offer good activities and pampering sessions weekly. We have had no issues with the care Mum receives. I have worked in care for a lot of years and it is the kind of home that I would work in due to the homely feel of the house and the attention the staff pay to the residents. Well done to all staff and the owner, a big thank you and keep up the good work.
The home have always been aware of my mother's abilities and have given her the independence she wants, whilst being aware of developing failings and stepping in when necessary. She is given the opportunity to live on her own terms with support which is sympathetic to her needs as they develop. Unfailingly caring to her and family members, staff even remember her likes and dislikes and make sure she gets her favourites in meals and snacks. There are wonderful activities, hair and beauty, outings arranged, plus many other treats throughout the year; a home from home with all the extras and multiple choices to make a happy environment. Communications from, and with, the home are effective and timely. The peace of mind given by the ethos of the home is priceless.
My mother has been living at Alexandra Court for 16 months. It has exceeded expectations in all aspects of care. They keep the residents engaged with the world by all their fantastic activities that cover events on the calendar such as Burn’s Night, Valentine’s Day, and their Coronation celebrations were wonderful. Our family love seeing their social media pages as we know what the residents and Mum are up to. I especially loved seeing Mum learning some Japanese words and when a particular poet died they had some readings of his poetry. The staff are very caring and really make the residents comfortable and cater to all their needs. I’ve worked in lots of care homes in the city working in the NHS and this is the best in the area. I would highly recommend it. They don’t have a garden but the veranda is adequate and has been made very nice for residents to sit out in the sun with sun hats that they provide. A lovely place that I would recommend to all my friends for their elderly parents.
Wow! This care home is amazing - we phoned the owner to see if there was a room for my Mother-in-Law who needed to be out of hospital within 48 hours. From the outset, the owner was helpful, friendly, understanding and extremely considerate. She arranged for my Mother-in-Law to visit the very next day, look at the room, have lunch and spend a couple of hours with them, our decision was an easy one. The staff's caring nature and patience shine through, nothing is too much trouble and it's a really friendly atmosphere. The owner allowed my Mother-in-Law to bring her piano, where she plays each Sunday for religious services, parties and groups of children come for parties. She is applauded and made a real fuss of which in turn makes my Mother-in-Law feel really valued and an integral person within the Alexandra Court family. Cannot recommend this care home enough...if you need somewhere for a loved one then look no further as you'll struggle to find a better place. Sincere thanks to the owner and her team of wonderful staff.
My Dad has spent the last 3.5 years in Alexandra Court, if anyone is looking for a care home in this area, then Alexandra Court is an absolute gem. There is such an amazing feeling of ‘home’ about the place, the staff are wonderful and really do care, this care is in evidence in so many ways. I cannot recommend this family-run home high enough and will be eternally grateful for the peace of mind it has given me throughout this time.
