View Full Details of Red Oaks Care CommunityAfter having a bad experience with professional carers in my home. I was very cautious of where I wanted my wife to be places. My wife suffers from dementia and has peritoneal dialysis every day. I was looking for a nursing home that was exceptionally clean because of the dialysis but with nurses who understood their patient's needs. Having met the manager and her staff I had no doubt in my mind that my wife would be in the best possible hands and would receive the right attention she required.
My Dad received excellent care and support, he was always very smart and clean. His bedroom was lovely and clean all the time. Dad could not talk but he communicated using his hands and we knew he was very happy in a well-run care home. My Dad enjoys all his meals and snacks. Words cannot say how grateful we are to the manager and all the staff.
Really happy with the care home my Dad is in. Also, happy with the room and the staff ad management are brilliant.
Our mother was admitted into Red Oaks during a family emergency and to our relief is now happily settled in as a permanent resident. The manager and staff have displayed both a professional and caring approach to her care and that's reflected in how well-adjusted, happy, and content our mother is. 'Bravo' Red Oaks as a family who live across the globe it's beyond comforting to know our mother is in such good hands. We extend our sincere gratitude! PS: two staff members, in particular, are phenomenal!
The manager and senior carers are excellent. They listen and act on any questions, issues etc. My mum is seen regularly by a GP with regard to her medication, organised by the home. Mum enjoyed the afternoons when local schoolchildren came in to sing to the residents. The home is clean and has a bright feel to it.
Overall experience was brilliant, staff teams were very supportive throughout the transition. My mother narrated she felt at ease in the care of the experienced staff. All staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend it.
My relative was extremely unhappy during her stay in this home and cried on the phone every night asking us to get her moved. When she first got there she was put in a tiny bed facing the wall with no stimulation other than nurses and care staff giving her medication and food. The home manager was extremely unprofessional every time my elderly mother and I called her. The home is unsafe In our opinion and we would not wish anyone else to come to harm in their care.
Very friendly place and staff, did feel that my husband needed more stimulation, maybe some activities with a dementia staff member.
I'm very pleased with the care given to my sister by the staff at Red Oaks and the management is excellent and also gives you a good welcome on arrival. My sister's room is always clean and tidy and the lounge is very pleasant. My sister has been at Red Oaks since January 2022. I have always been happy with it, if I had a problem, the management always helped me deal with it professionally. These last few weeks of my visits have been even more pleasant and relaxing. The activities are good, even though my sister will not join in.
Absolutely awful. The care my dad received was dismal. Within 2 weeks of being there, he had been admitted to hospital 3 times. During the second week he ended up with severe dehydration and kidney damage. Basically he had been put in a room at the end of a long corridor, and due to the crash mat placed by his bed and him being bed bound with mixed dementia he was unable to reach any fluids. Dad wasn't checked on regularly by staff. Thank god the legal system were involved and refused his return following his third admission to hospital. I would not recommend this care home to anyone.
My mum came to Red Oaks for 2 weeks of respite. With the excellent care you have given my mum and to see her safe and settled I've taken the hardest decision to let her stay in your care. In the knowledge, she will be safe and content in her new home. Thank you for making it an easy decision.
from the day my uncle was sent to the home by the hospital, he settled, we liked the general nice feeling the management and staff gave off towards everyone. We chose for him to stay on a permanent basis.
I've got no concerns with my Dad's care at Red Oaks, all staff do their best for Dad. In the warmer months, I do think they should try and arrange outings to nearby places, as the residents seem to be in one area and I don't think this is doing much for the resident's mental health, even if they ask the resident's family to help out. More entertainment would be nice.
Mum entered as an end-of-life resident and received the best care we could have wished for. She was treated with respect and care by every member of staff. The staff were so supportive of the whole family as we went along this journey and gave so much support to us all. I would recommend this home to everyone who needs to pass their loved one to the care of a home. Mum had been in a different home for a month before moving here from the hospital and the staff and care at her previous home were not at the same level of Red Oaks Care Community. I will be forever grateful to the staff.
Our family was very apprehensive when placing father-in-law into the care home. The introduction and settling in has been seamless and worry-free. Any problems and complications due to his condition have been dealt with promptly. We cannot thank them enough. He is cared for in a safe and happy environment.
Friendly, caring staff who are all approachable. Any concerns have been allayed and remedied where applicable. Prior to his admission, my father was beru agitated and aggressive at times. He settled in the care home within days and is now calm and settled into the new environment. I didn't want my father to go into a care home, but seeing how happy he is has made me appreciate what they do for him and how appropriate his admission was.
The care home has been very good towards my auntie, helped her recovery along. If it wasn't for them she would have been bed-bound. She is now able to walk with a frame, eat by herself and communicate better. She had a bad stroke and we were told she wouldn't walk again. Red Oaks Care Community spent time helping her and she gained the ability to do things for herself. We cannot thank them enough. Staff are very caring and patient.
My auntie has been a resident since January 2023. It is because of the care and attention she has received that she started to walk again and gained the use of her left side, which having a stroke stopped working, she could not walk or eat by herself and was bed-bound until she came to Red Oaks Care Community. We have to commend Red Oaks on their determination towards her and now she has a better quality of life so thank you.
I live in Scotland and so do not visit the this Care Home regularly. On 17th June 2018 my sister and I visited Red Oaks Care Home unannounced. When we arrived our sister the service user was sitting and chatting with some of the staff and looked very happy. She told us that she was very well cared for and loved all the staff. She was dressed nicely and was clean. She was also wearing her ear rings, bracelet and other jewellery, which she likes. We found the staff and the management to be very helpful, friendly and professional. We noted that all staff treated the residents with dignity and genuinely cared for them all. The care home is bright and cheerful. My sister's room and the ensuite were spotless. We were also impressed with the idea of the wish tree where residents can place their wishes on the tree. My sister and I went home very happy, feeling very confident that our sister - the service user - would be well looked after and cared for in Red Oaks care home.
I love this home for my mother. The staff are so respectful and courteous and obviously do this as a vocation and not just a job, they are so caring and loving to all the residents it is wonderful to see. They knock every time they enter a room and genuinely care about the residents like family members not like patients. The activities vary every day and captivate the attention of my mother who suffers from vascular dementia. Day trips out, break up the day to day life and music therapy reminds me of songs my mother sang in my childhood. The housekeeping staff do an excellent job and treat the residents like family members. The home is well run and managed by a wonderful lady who always has time for a chat no matter how inconsequential the subject matter. The home is being fully renovated and even the renovations are managed to reduce stress to the residents.
