View Full Details of Firbank House Residential Care HomeSince admittance over twelve months ago, we have seen constant improvement and the introduction of activities. The care itself is excellent - care and love are shown and dignity is maintained. Residents are regularly given ‘a cuppa and a biscuit’, all their needs are met. We feel our family member is in a safe and caring place.
Maybe doesn't look the best from the outside but the staff are brilliant which is the important thing. They are committed and dedicated, nothing is too much trouble. They take on board any concerns you have and rectify them as soon as possible. My mum is loved and very well looked after. It's a home, not a nursing /care home.
Having met my Uncle for the first time in thirty years, I was given privacy and trust by the staff on duty and the manager. I was visiting my Uncle to inform him that his older Brother, my Dad, had passed away. I was very assured by Uncles positive view of his surroundings and in the care he was receiving. He was very pragmatic in his thoughts stating that the building could be updated and that the food could be improved but it was all manageable. It was obvious to see that investment in the surroundings was lacking however new flooring was being installed while I was visiting. There was a positive vibe from both management and staff that I came in touch with leaving me with a sense of purpose and plan for the future of the home.
Nice words were not followed through with appropriate actions. I have removed my relative from Firbank. He told Social Services he did not want to stay there. He is now receiving treatment on AMU Tameside Hospital.
