View Full Details of Rose HouseAfter my sister with Downs Syndrome and Dementia’s former home would not have her back she was homeless. On hearing her plight, the manager turned what was her office into a bedroom over the course of a few days. She visited my sister on the ward with her deputy manager to do some transition work by showing her photos of her new home. They chatted with her appropriately, demonstrating a clear understanding of her needs. She has been at Rose House now for some weeks and in that time the staff have worked hard to settle her in. It is fair to say that she has found her feet and is very happy there. As her sister, I was very impressed at how they met my needs too. I had some anxiety about her settling, but any worries were quickly placated. They set up a camera and door sensor in her room to give me peace of mind and communication has been fantastic. Some may feel that Rose House isn’t ideally situated, but once you step inside it is a ‘home’ in the true sense of the word.
Providing activities at Rose House for a number of years has been a pleasure for me as the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming from everyone who works and lives there. The residents always seem very happy and chatty; they look out for each other and seem to have a strong bond between them. It shows that the staff care very much about their residents and a lot of staff have been there for several years. There is a good sense of space with two very large living rooms for residents to choose from and the areas are always kept spotlessly clean. A good range of day to day activities and varied menus are always displayed on notice boards. Staff and management worked tirelessly to keep residents protected and happy during the most challenging months of Covid-19. Well done to all the staff and management at Rose House, you are doing a great job and hopefully, there are happy months ahead now that many restrictions have been lifted.
Friendly and helpful - my sister is settled and happy there.
I am quite happy with the service provided at Rose House. My sister seems content and happy, the staff are helpful. She enjoys the company of other residents and staff and also her privacy in her room. Her needs are always addressed professionally, i.e. appointments, etc. so we are satisfied with her residence.
There is always a happy atmosphere when I visit. The staff are always very helpful and always give me information on how my brother is doing. All the time when I visit him he always says he doesn't want to leave there.
