View Full Details of Meera HouseMy aunt has been in the nursing home for several years. Although some selected staff are carrying out great care, others are very questionable. There has been multiple issues with quality of care actually been given in the home. My aunt has had her belongings taken almost every day, staff have always blamed laundry service. Everything we have taken for my aunt to keep in her room has gone missing, even down to her undergarments. I have made several complaints but all that gets said is 'we will check with laundry'. We have labelled the clothing with permanent ink, clothing labels and markers. Yet all her clothes have gone missing. We go to visit her and she is always in someone else's clothes and shoes. Staff are told and their attitude is 'I don't know check with manager', ask manager and she always replies with 'it's a problem with laundry'. Ongoing issue for three years and no solution has been found. It's very sad to see her identity being lost whilst she has been there.
I feel very happy with the staff and manager - very approachable.
Since my mother-in-law has been here, I have been extremely grateful and happy for the kindness, attention and support they have given to her. The management and staff have been superb. My mother-in-law looks so well looked after and happy. We are extremely happy she is in a care home like this and we do not feel any anxiety at all. We genuinely want to thank everyone who looks after my mother-in-law and we thank god every day.
Happy with the care given to my mother. However, there is a need for better food.
We appreciate the care my father receives at Meera House. It puts our mind at rest knowing he is looked after well.
I have been totally pleased with everything Meera House Care Home have done for my mother who was there for a period of 6 weeks. She was struggling with her mobility and her food intake. The staff were patient with her and gradually got her back on her feet and eating well to the point where she has been able to come home. I found both the care home manager and her staff very approachable, understanding of my mum's situation and willing to provide me with any information I requested. I would have no hesitation in recommending Meera to family and friends who may need this type of service for their loved ones.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID pandemic, we have not able to visit my mum properly for nearly a year so I cannot comment on the current condition of the care home. However, we have been always allowed window visits and FaceTime appointments regularly. I must thank and give credit to the management team and the entire staff for managing through this pandemic. It may be helpful to all to have monthly or periodic update on the care home status (how things are going during a pandemic). Would like to suggest to improve their outdoor sitting areas in the garden for Summer 2021. Ratings are selected on pre-pandemic status. Hopefully once the pandemic finishes all the stimulating activities will be introduced again.
Having contacted several nursing homes in the local area on New Year's Day for providing temporary respite care, we found Meera House to be proactive in their engagement with us, and more importantly for our mother, aged 79. Moving into a nursing home was not a decision the family had taken lightly. Meera immediately provided us with answers to our many questions, which placed us at ease as we had never experienced dealing with any nursing home for respite care. We were reassured and hopeful that the respite care will help our mother recover. We admitted our mother the very next day on Saturday 2nd January where the admissions process was seamless to say, and was managed very well by the managers in charge. After four weeks of respite care, our mother has now returned back home refreshed and having a greater level of mobility than previously. Thanks to Meera House for the care, attention and rehabilitation provided.
