View Full Details of Coppelia HouseCoppelia was our second home with Mum! She was happy, extremely well cared for, and felt loved there. The staff are amazing, so committed to their residents, and really become a part of their family. Access to discuss Mum's needs was immediate and we were kept in touch with all the time. We visited nearly every day and being able to fit visits in at most hours of the day helped us continue a very involved relationship with Mum.
I take great pleasure in recommending all at Coppelia House, over the last few months my father resided there. I was always made to feel very welcome and highly informed with information on my father's well-being. The care was 100%. I even had the pleasure of sampling the delightful homecooked food that Dad took a lot of pleasure eating and enjoying the wonderful gardens, chatting to the wonderful staff. I can't recommend the home and staff anymore and so pleased we moved him there until his last days. Keep up the great work, I'm sure you all will.
Mum came to Coppelia House in April 2023 for respite care after a fall in her flat. She quickly decided she would like to stay as she felt safe and comfortable in her own room with friendly and supportive staff. Her visitors were always welcomed by the staff, and we enjoyed sitting out together in the sunny garden. Mum received excellent palliative care in the home as she neared the end of her long life and we were kept well informed of her condition. Thank you to all the staff at Coppelia House for looking after Mum in such a caring, respectful way.
The home was extremely helpful and quick at getting Mum in, as both parents became ill at the same time. Mum settled in very well and the staff were very welcoming and caring. My mum has dementia and her biggest problem was understanding the foreign workers. We have moved Mum to be with her husband of sixty-seven years, as this wasn’t the place for my father to stay. Many thanks to all staff.
My father and us, his family, are extremely fortunate to have a care home of such a high calibre on our doorstep. He needed 24/7 care and he got it, he was well fed and kept clean, (his words) The staff were/are very obliging and do everything in their power to make the whole situation as homely and pleasant as possible. Our particular situation was difficult and became more acute over time, the staff true to form were understanding and accommodating to which we are very grateful. Thank you.
Ma was here for 5 years. She was always treated with much love, respect and humility. She felt safe and secure at Coppelia House. Throughout Covid and after there was always emphasis on the happiness of the folks in care. For me, it's been a real comfort that Ma was here being looked after.
Mum spent a month at Coppelia House to recover following major surgery. We cannot fault the care Mum received - the staff were all friendly, good-humoured and extremely professional, especially when helping Mum get used to coping with the stoma she had following surgery. Nothing was too much trouble. Also, Mum said the quality and variety of the meals were exceptional.
With gratitude for the care and love our mother received; you gave us peace of mind and you gave our mother warmth and joy. Together you've created a future for continuing professionalism and care for all.
Our mother was not always the easiest of residents to manage. Nevertheless, the staff were always caring, loving supportive and patient with her. She has been a long-term resident of several years and only recently passed away. The end-of-life care they provided for our mother was exceptional and the support towards our family. Most staff are permanent, not agency and have worked there for many years. All meals and cakes are prepared and home cooked at Coppelia House. Just like home cooking and very tasty and nutritional. Our mother had the freedom to move around the home as she wished day/night time, where safe to. Where some residential homes restrict their movement throughout the day and night. I felt Mum was in a safe environment. She had a lovely garden view. It was a pleasure getting to know the staff over the years.
My mother received end of life care at Coppelia in November. I cannot praise the staff enough for their care and attitude towards her and my family. They made a very difficult time as comfortable as possible for all us and their dedication and support was outstanding.
My father enjoyed his time at Coppelia House Care Home and was well looked after. He comments that the staff worked very hard and were wonderful. He enjoyed the activities, there was a good quiz and interesting word games which he was enthusiastic about joining in with. His own room had a wonderful view of the town and valley beyond it. The gardens were interesting and relaxing to walk or sit in. Food good. Staff on the ball when we visited or rang.
My mother has been a resident at Coppelia House Care Home for five years. She's 96 years old and has dementia. I can tell she's happy and settled and she loves the people that care for her. Coppelia feels like a home from home by avoiding the temptation to create the institutionalised structures that others misguidedly believe are necessary. The carers are kind and helpful and the atmosphere is relaxed and informal. When issues arise they are dealt with promptly and efficiently. My mother, unfortunately, got infected with Covid at the beginning of the pandemic and if it hadn't been for the amazing care she received at Coppelia I'm sure she would have died. They went over and above what was expected of them and I will always be grateful for this. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Coppelia to anyone who is thinking about residential care either for themselves or a relative. It's a very special place and, despite the obstacles created for the sector by this government, it does an incredible job.
The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. They treat my mum as if she is one of the family, I cannot ask for anything more. As I said, they are all just amazing. The food is good most of the time but Mum struggles a bit with the big portions, not a bad thing.
My wife has been in the home for three and a half years. She suffers from advanced Alzheimer's. She cannot see, walk, feed herself or perform any other functions. The staff are brilliant and look after her well. The home's management has been exceptional. My wife is happy, contented and relaxed. Although she can no longer find the right words to be able to say. All of the staff and managers spend time with her and anticipate her needs. They all are welcoming to me and keep me informed of any issues.
We had to move Mum into Coppelia House Care Home at the end of 2019 due to her deteriorating health. We were glad we could move her into care within the same community she had lived in for 25 years. The staff and volunteers at Coppelia were so nice, pleasant and professional from the first moment we talked to them. I got to know several of them during early visits and Mum was always very happy with the service she received at Coppelia. If truth be told, she didn't want to be anywhere other than home, but Coppelia was about as close to home as she could wish for. Unfortunately, Covid struck soon after she entered Coppelia, so visiting had to be restricted somewhat, but I always felt Mum was being well looked after and her safety was their main concern. Just before she died, restrictions were eased a little and she was able to go on short trips outside Coppelia. I know the staff were truly upset when she died and this was very touching. I can't think of a better place for Mum to spend her last days.
My dad has been at Coppelia House Care Home for over a year and he has been so well looked after, I could not ask for more. All the staff are hardworking, dedicated and kind and I feel they really care. They would do anything for my dad and are really helpful whenever he or I need anything.
Coppelia House is my step-father's home and was my mother's too. The staff there are wonderful, and treat residents with kindness, respect and love. They are dedicated, helpful and accessible, and have been of great assistance to our whole family. I would certainly recommend Coppelia House.
Coppelia House Care Home is perfect for my elderly aunt, she has 24/7 care. Individual attention to her personal needs, whether medical, emotional, physical or social. The home is clean and attractive, well maintained with a lovely garden. My aunt loves the view of the moors from her room. She enjoys the food and especially loves chatting to the staff as they are all so friendly, extremely caring and professional. As a family, we couldn’t wish for better. Thank you Coppelia.
Coppelia House has been my mother's home for the last four years. The staff have always treated her with respect and kindness but over the past year, when she has become increasingly frail, the level of gentle compassion and love has been outstanding. I have also been touched by their level of concern for me too. I would not want my mother anywhere else for her remaining days. Thank you Coppelia.
My mother-in-law spent many years at Coppelia House and was treated with kindness and respect. Before Covid we felt that we could always pop in at any time; the home was warm, friendly and clean and the staff obviously knew the residents well and treated them as individuals. Most times when I popped in during the week there was something going on - a quiz, a visit from animals, craft, hand massages etc. Even for residents who did not want to take part in these, it gave a friendly and lively background to the days. Over the last year when we could not visit due to Covid, the staff made great efforts to keep us in touch and to provide extra care.
