Staff made a huge effort to enable us to take my father to the Remembrance Day Cenotaph march past. Any medical or dental issues are sorted very competently by their staff, always keeping us well informed. I am not surprised that they have an outstanding rating.

The Red House are very good at keep us informed if there are any changes in his health or dental needs.
Mum has a reluctance to eat. The staff all do a very good job trying to persuade her to have something, trying different techniques. It is just unfortunate that mum can be rather stubborn and decide not to have anything.
It is easy to write a review for The Red House because it really is an outstanding establishment. It is well run and managed and the care given to the residents is truly amazing. The staff work tirelessly to ensure that residents have excellent quality care. They have patience, kindness and warmth which is felt on entering the home. I am a regular visitor and my aunt enjoys a good quality of life with daily activities planned to meet individual needs. Mealtimes are a joy for her with menu choices and excellent provision. Outstanding care home.
My mother is unwell this week due to a long-term medical condition and is receiving excellent care from the staff at The Red House. We are kept informed of every change to her condition, staff make time to update us on every visit, and Mum is being treated with dignity and respect. She is calm, well-fed and is being made as comfortable as possible. Thanks to all involved.
The Red House was my mother's home for nearly 2 years. She had Alzheimer's and died last month. My family and I spent a lot of time at the home and were able to intimately see how wonderful the home truly is. The staff are motivated and professional. Each resident is treated and known as an individual. Their care is thoughtfully tailored to their needs. They are part of a family. This is an ethos set by the manager and carried through with kindness and smiles by everyone. As a relative, I also felt looked after and considered. Staff are continually kept up to date with appropriate care practices and records are well kept and available. Safety is paramount. The chefs are fabulous. They take care to know the favourites and diet of each person and will go to great lengths to provide enjoyable nutritious food, especially for those less keen to eat. Staff always take care to have a chat, give a smile, hold a hand, sing a song or have a dance with a resident. I cannot recommend it enough.
I have been in this care home since 01.02.2022, the care I have received has been excellent from management and all members of staff, with help at anytime - day and night.
We are very pleased with the care that our mother is receiving at The Red House. In particular, we have been impressed by the ratio of staff to residents, which means that no one is left unattended and every one is carefully managed to meet their varying needs. The atmosphere is always welcoming - staff are friendly and helpful and as relatives, we are encouraged to visit at any time. Great care is taken with the daily menus, with plenty of variety, and individual preferences are always catered for too. Overall we feel relieved and thankful that our mother can be cared for at The Red House.
Carers are lovely and all of them go the extra mile. The kitchen staff works hard to provide lovely food and are friendly to all residents when they come into the lounge. A lot of activities both indoors/garden excellent. Day-to-day care, staff are all happy.
I decided to transfer into a care home and I did not like living on my own in an empty house so I could leave at any time but I find the care and attention received outweighs anything I could provide for myself. The staff are very caring and helpful and willing to assist wherever needed. The food is very good and plentiful. Need I say more?
Following a fall that resulted in a fractured pelvis, I realised that on leaving the hospital, I would be unable to return home for some time. As, two years ago, my husband spent the last seven months of his life in this home and knowing how well he had been cared for, I had no hesitation in seeking a room here. It is a relatively small home (26-room), and all the residents are known personally by the excellent staff and are considered to be part of The Red House family.
Thank you to all the staff at the Red House for going above and beyond to ensure my mum was comfortable in her last few months. The team were always friendly and helpful, making my mum's happiness and comfort their priority.
The Red House brought me peace of mind almost immediately. The staff are wonderful, so kind and caring and the residents are beautifully looked after. My mum is so happy and always telling me how lovely the staff are. I cannot thank them enough for all they have done for us.
Mum has been treated with such kindness and care by all the staff at The Red House and says that she loves it there. This gives us such peace of mind, knowing that she is safe, cared for and happy. We cannot thank the staff enough.
The care and support Mum has received since moving into the Red House in late July 2021, has been superb. She is treated with the utmost consideration by all the hardworking and considerate team, who understand and show respect for the differing needs of The Red House residents. The choice and quality of the meals provided are virtually restaurant standard and the variety of organised activities is very good indeed.
I think the place is excellent. I have no complaints, whatsoever. I am well looked after by the staff. They are all very good to me. It seems I shall be spending a fair time here, but I am quite happy to carry on.
My wife is very well looked after and is well turned out. The staff are most friendly and helpful.
My husband has been living at The Red House for two years, he has been well supported and cared for. The staff are very friendly, kind, thoughtful and the home has a good atmosphere. The food is very good, there is a lovely garden to enjoy, varied activities and entertainment. Well done to the whole team for keeping everyone safe during the pandemic.
My father's health deteriorated rapidly following a hip fracture and hospital stay at the peak of the second wave of Covid early in 2021. It was a traumatic time for both of us, with decisions having to be made quickly and with little information due to visiting restrictions. Dad's condition has steadily improved over the three months or so since then. He is becoming visibly stronger, calmer and more "himself". I had my doubts about how he would get on in a relatively small nursing home, as he does love to be outdoors and have lots of space. But the atmosphere is so positive, and he is responding well to the care. The team (and they really are a team) are alert to his needs, creative in how they engage with him and always seem very upbeat despite doing a really difficult job. When investigating nursing homes, several people told me that The Red House has a reputation for providing excellent care, and I'm happy to confirm that reputation is well deserved.
My brother ended up in The Red House, to be honest, it was not my choice, however, as I also work in a residential facility I have nothing but praise for the nurses, care assistants and management and the rest of the team what a great job you do.
