She has improved in health and gained weight and is evidently being taken very good care of. The staff are cheerful and attentive and always welcome family visits. I feel very confident that my family member is receiving the best of care which gives me peace of mind too.
I'd like to give a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Sholden Hall. They have cared and lovingly looked after my mum for the last three years. They have always been really friendly and helpful at all times , often going above and beyond. My mum sadly passed this weekend but I know she was in caring hands and. Respected all the time she spent at the home. Thank you xx
The staff and owners have shown us kindness and very human care , they have gradually expanded my partner's freedoms, visits and time out , which has enabled great happiness .. This care home is the best we have experienced by far o there is stress on occassions , but the kindness care and humanity of the staff and owners is simply beautiful to witness ..we are so deeply grateful ,and pray our good experiences continue with these nice wonderful folk.
My mum lived at this home for around 2 years until she passed recently. From what I've witnessed, the home is clean, the food is home-cooked and the care is excellent. All the staff seem to really care about the residents and seem to treat them like family. I can't rate the staff highly enough for the sometimes very tough job they're doing. On the evening of my mum's passing, they had to deal with her before the funeral directors arrived then it's straight back to their other tasks, even if they have become emotionally attached, which I think some had in my mum's case. I would recommend this home. Well-managed and lovely, genuinely kind, caring staff. Thank you all for the care of my mum.
My mother-in-law has been at Sholden Hall for nearly two years and has been safe and content at the home. She has been treated with dignity and we have good communication with the staff when visiting, and through phone calls and updates when there are any issues or decisions that need to be made. There has been significant work done to the grounds of the facility, though the rooms are clean and tidy, they are looking a little tired, and would hope to see this upgrade extended to the inside. It's been great to bring my mother-in-law's furniture so that she can have the things that she is familiar with around her. Staff are friendly, always helpful, and always see lots of interaction with residents to help make them feel at home. When we visited, it really stood out to us that they showed my mother-in-law around the facility rather than us, which showed how they interact with their residents.
Friendly, caring staff have helped my dad make the transition to life in Sholden Hall as he can no longer live at home due to worsening dementia. Family visits are encouraged, and we are always made to feel welcome. My dad seems happy and settled, which gives us peace of mind in a difficult situation.
Sholden Hall care home was so caring for our Aunt who was frail and had Alzheimer's being in care for respite. We called in regularly to see Aunty and the carers always made us feel welcome and quickly responded to her and our needs. They let us know very quickly if there was anything she needed. The food was excellent. The care was excellent, the hairdresser came on a regular basis and there were plenty of activities which engaged her during her stay. The garden to the rear is lovely with benches, tables and chairs. The home is in the process of redecoration which I think will be completed soon. All the staff were fantastic with her and we would like to thank them for their loving care.
I pop in each Sunday to visit my parents. My parents have been here at least 2 years now and Sholden Hall has always made steps to make steady improvements in every aspect of care. As Mum has deteriorated, the care plan is updated, the manager keeps in touch on a regular basis and the staff are always working to make sure that my parents are well cared for. There is a mix of male and female staff here, which suits my father, as he prefers to deal with Men when it comes to care. I always know that Mum and Dad are safe and well here.
This care home is excellent for the needs of my uncle. He has advanced Alzheimer's, and the care provided here cannot be faulted. They keep him safe; the carers attend to his needs 24 hours a day. Everyone is kind, friendly and very caring all the time.
I was concerned about my mother's move into full-time care. Mum has a form of dementia and the isolation of her previous living situation was causing mental health issues. In spite of her small size and demeanour, my mother has always been a strong woman and very independently minded. The staff's balanced approach between care and autonomy has been truly impressive. Within weeks, my mother's anxiety and paranoia had decreased significantly, allowing for normal conversations again. The presence of gardens, reminiscent of Mum’s country walks and love for nature, adds to its appeal. Mum always tells me how nice and warm her room is and that the meals are nice. Sholden Hall ticks all the important boxes for us - quality care, appropriate care, good meals, effective heating, and a tranquil garden. My mother's only lament is the absence of pets, though watching the garden squirrels provides some solace.
I can not speak highly enough about the manager and her team at Sholden Hall. In the time my mother was with them they were very professional, caring and attentive to her needs. On a couple of occasions, my mother went into hospital and on her return the team helped rehabilitate her. The staff here are very friendly and caring just like part of the family.
My aunt has been in Sholden Hall for just a fortnight now and she seems to have settled very well. The staff are very friendly, supportive and helpful. She is very well-looked after and enjoying her stay at Sholden Hall.
Staff are always cheerful, and very helpful and are always attentive to the resident's needs, they have regular entertainment to occupy the residents too. They do regular quizzes and bingo, my friend is very happy here!
Excellent staff. Lovely place. My mother's very happy here. I know she’s in safe hands. She’s been here for two years, and she’s put weight on and is very happy. I visit here often, and she’s always very well.
My dear nan has been within Sholden Hall for just under a year now. Each time I visit her, I am overwhelmed by how well she is doing. Staff are very hands-on, and seeing them engage and adapt to each resident's best interests is so good to see. She always appears happy, and if I require any information regarding my nan's welfare, it's answered without hesitation and always to hand. On my last visit, I was able to talk with the registered manager, who is the service provider also, and she really is hands-on! By this, I mean I watched her interaction with residents and staff; she was approached about obtaining some items and, without hesitation, replied; they will be sought. Also, you can see different changes each time I visit and all for the good. Thank you all at Sheldon Hall.
Under the new owner, things seem very different. There is a warm and relaxed atmosphere. There has been much renovation to the building itself, which has improved the overall aesthetics of the home. The staff are attentive and respectful towards the residents and are particularly good with my in-laws. My father-in-law says that the food is better. My mother-in-law has improved greatly in mood and general demeanour since being at the home; for this, my partner and I are extremely grateful. There is an overall good vibe throughout the home. I would not hesitate to recommend Sholden Hall for its excellent service.
We find that the home manager and all the staff at Sholden Hall are friendly and helpful. Our relative, who is now at Sholden Hall on a long-term basis, is well cared for. It was not long before the staff understood her needs. She settled down well into the home routine. She enjoys the garden and watching the birds and squirrels. She also enjoys all of the activities organised by the staff, particularly the singing sessions. We live quite a distance away from the home and are not able to visit as much as we wish. Therefore, we are most grateful that our relative is being well looked after in a caring environment.
The home has cared for my aunt for over a year now, and I am very pleased with the care she has received. She is very happy there, and if there are any medical issues, the staff respond as appropriate. The atmosphere, whenever I have visited, is very positive, and the staff are caring and attentive.
My friend has been taken care of at Sholden Hall for the past four months. Whenever I've visited, I have found the staff both knowledgeable and approachable. The decor in some parts of the home is outdated, but the current owners are updating it. The staff interact well with the service users. As for the food, varied choices are given, and alternatives are always offered.
My mum was at Sholden Hall. In my opinion, was neglected, she had Alzheimer's and managed to get out of the home twice! The first time they never even knew she was missing even though a member of the public rang to ask them. Poor facilities, poor decoration, poor food, uncaring staff, the list goes on.
