View Full Details of Nazareth House - PlymouthNazareth House in Plymouth is quite simply excellent in every way. The management, the care staff, the support staff, and the food. The home itself has been a breath of fresh air. The care and consideration that has been provided for my mum, who is spending some respite time with them, has been second to none. The home is clean, the atmosphere is always upbeat every time I visit her. She (my mum) doesn't want to go home! I can't thank you all enough for what you do and continue to do! Well done to all. Many thanks.
Nazareth House is nothing short of outstanding in the care it offers its residents. My mum has been a resident for just over a year and in that time the care she has received has been exemplary. The carers provide excellent care and are kind and adaptive to my mum's changing needs and she has developed great relationships with them. The manager is exceptional. She is always on the ball and ensuring the care needs of her residents are met and communication with families is amazing. My mum feels at home here and we wouldn't want her to be anywhere else. Thank you to all the staff for the hard work you put in every day to make this such a great environment.
I cannot contact you as can't understand your answer message, too deaf. A wonderful clean caring home. I am a friend of one of the residents and she has a lovely room. The chapel is beautiful. Gardens are nice in better weather.
The General Manager and her team provide a wonderfully caring environment for all the residents of Nazareth House. It really has an incredibly positive and friendly atmosphere. My 92-year-old mother badly broke her ankle and needs 24-hour support while she rehabilitates. Nothing is too much trouble for the people who care for her. They respond immediately to her needs with professionalism and compassion. The home is always spotlessly clean and the food is freshly prepared with a variety of daily dishes which are never the same from one day to the next. It is the perfect place for my mother to rebuild her strength and confidence surrounded by people who really seem to care about her well-being. My family have nothing but respect and gratitude for all the staff who are looking after her so well.
My experience of the care provided to my mother at Nazareth House is of kindness, gentleness, respect and fun. The management of Nazareth House has created a culture of warmth and security in which my mother feels safe and cared for. She has on offer, a rich and varied social activities program, which she can choose or decline to participate in. Her privacy is respected and her room is very much her home. The staff are caring, and respectful and treat my mother with a sensitive mixture of dignity and humour. All Mum's visitors and there are many, comment to me about what a 'lovely place' Nazareth House is. Recently all the staff greatly assisted our family to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday. Their support felt like we had gained even more friends and family and helped make it a fun-filled afternoon. In the autumn of her years, my mum feels safe and at home, she thrives on the activity at Nazareth House and in many ways feels loved and respected. What more could you ask for?
It's hard to put into words just what a gem of a nursing home Nazareth House Plymouth is. From our warm 1st welcome, to Dad instantly wanting to move in a few short days later. The overriding sense of calm, experience and professionalism is instantly tangible, and not skin deep. It's the smallest things that make the biggest impact, the warm smiles around the building, the can-do approach to any enquiry and mostly the gentle individual touch with each resident, it's there for all to see. I cannot fault the care, from the general manager, to each member of the nursing, reception, maintenance, catering and admin staff... who always try their best to help. The home itself is safely tucked away behind security gates, where it overlooks the stunning nearby inlet, and everyday life pootles by, on land and sea. There are daily Masses at their chapel, and often multiple activities each day. They have in-house hairdresser and access to nails, dentist and optician's. I cannot recommend it more, I can now relax knowing Dad is safe and happy, living his best life, and mostly, enjoy reverting back to being Dad's daughter, not carer.
What an amazing place Nazareth House is. As soon as you arrive on the beautiful grounds and then walk into the home, there is a wonderful sense of care and love. All the staff can not do enough for the residents, and I know my mother felt safe and well cared for. She loved the food, especially the cakes and enjoyed joining in the activities. We will always be so grateful to all the staff for looking after my mother so well.
Nazareth House is excellent, from its location to the compassionate and dedicated staff, cleanliness and professionalism. I would give more than 5 stars if I was able. I would definitely recommend Nazareth House to care for your loved ones.
I cannot speak highly enough of the service they provide, from the gardeners, kitchen staff, laundry, the clean reception and care units, the management and the sisters themselves. Everyone is warm, respectful and professionally diligent and privacy is at its core. The purpose-built facility and its stunning location can only be described as superb, with beautiful grounds and stunning views over the bay. Overall, I have nothing but positive words to say and feel that Nazareth House truly deserves recognition and is outstanding providers in the care sector.
I have nothing but praise for the way we have been treated all the way through the process of getting Mum into this care home. The staff are great and nothing is too much trouble. They have kept us informed of every stage throughout. I can’t fault anything at this time and certainly would recommend to others. A massive well done.
I feel that the food requires improvement, my mother has told me that she finds it unsatisfactory at times. She tells me that the staff are generally very good, caring and friendly, but sometimes it can be a long wait for a call bell to be answered. Sometimes the tablets are late being given as well.
All the staff are caring in the facility and do their utmost to look after each resident, which is not always easy. The leadership team does a great job of providing care support to the staff. I've observed the team doing hands-on work when short-staffed, which is great to see. There are activities each day for the residents to participate in. The facility has amazing views over the ocean or gardens. There are plenty of things to observe on Plymouth Sound; navy boats, paddle boarders and swimmers to enjoy. I have no hesitation in recommending Nazareth House to look after your loved one.
Very happy with the care and food my husband is receiving. Could not find a better position for a care home; wonderful views. The sisters are all very kind and join in many activities, as well as visiting individual residents.
My mother has been a resident for two years and is happy and settled. Nazareth House Plymouth is in a beautiful location overlooking Plymouth Sound. The grounds and beautifully maintained and the house is clean, modern and well kept. Residents benefit from excellent personal accommodation, as well as extensive communal areas. The staff make great efforts to provide stimulation and a weekly rotating programme of activities. I have no hesitation in recommending Nazareth House.
I have no reservations in recommending Nazareth House - Plymouth. Their approach to the delivery of care to my mother is first class. What makes the biggest impact is good relationships between the resident, their family and the drive to ensure the highest possible levels of care to meet the resident's needs fully.
My mother was a resident here for five years, throughout that time she has been extremely well cared for. The staff and sisters of Nazareth House are professional, supportive and compassionate, going above and beyond. Communication has been excellent as we live some distance away. All visitors are made to feel so welcome, it has a wonderful ambience of home from home. I would not hesitate to recommend Nazareth House.
From the moment you enter this Home you know it is well run, there is a strict regime to ensure that everyone uses sanitiser which in turn keeps everyone safe and secondly the place smells clean and looks immaculate. Peace and order reign here and residents can be seen pottering around or sitting and reading the newspapers or books. Nurses and carers are always on hand to kindly help with your enquiries and any concerns are dealt with promptly. The Home is in a beautiful setting, and many of the bedrooms overlook the sea - it is a really lovely place to live. No one wants to have their independence taken away from them, but here the staff try very hard to ensure that you live as independent life as possible. For those people who have a spiritual side to their lives, I have seen nuns sitting and talking with the residents and taking the time to listen. This is a remarkable place.
Nazareth House is a great care home, in a stunning location too. Until she passed away in 2016, Mum was so well cared for here, and now that Dad needs looking after too, the choice as to where was obvious, and so much easier than these things often are. As well as the location, the home is also great, modern, and with appropriate facilities. The staff are lovely too. Care is very well managed and of a very good standard. Always very friendly and willing to help. Like all care homes, the Covid pandemic and the shortage of care staff have been challenging, but feel very confident that these are dealt with as well as they can be. Of great benefit, is always a view to enjoy from inside or from out, and there is often activity to sit and enjoy. Short walks immediately adjoining the home are a great enjoyment too. Very confident that we couldn't have found better.
Overseen by a friendly, dynamic manager, with a 'can do' attitude, Nazareth house, alongside its idyllic seafront location offers a unique experience which literally transforms the 'care home experience' to a new and different level. All staff whether carers, cooks or domestic, are friendly and hard-working. Nothing is too much trouble when it comes to dietary preferences or restrictions.
Mum was only a resident briefly at Nazareth House - Plymouth but I know that she was really happy and settled there. I wish she could have been a resident for much longer. She arrived in the middle of all the Covid-19 lockdowns but was given the biggest welcome by all the staff. I regret not having been able to meet all the staff involved in her care in person because of the restrictions but know that they made a huge effort to compensate for the isolation the residents were experiencing from friends and families, at Christmas and Easter in particular. I would give Nazareth House - Plymouth ten out of ten for the care they gave, there will always be some things that are not quite right but that is part and parcel of life and they were minor. It is rare to find professionalism combined with compassion but that is part of the ethos at Nazareth House - Plymouth in my view.
