View Full Details of Grenham Bay CourtGrenham Bay Court is a lovely care home in a beautiful setting. My mother has been here for 4 months now, she has taken a while to settle in but now realises she's in the best place. All the staff are caring and friendly. The activities coordinator works hard at providing a varied and enjoyable experience. Mum is well looked after with good meals and personal care. I would definitely recommend Grenham Bay Court. A big thank you to all the lovely, hard-working staff.
My mum has now been at Grenham Bay Court for about for four months. She has a lovely modern, light and spacious room and the staff are very caring. The activities are excellent and tailored to the residents' likes. Mum particularly enjoys the word games, quizzes and bingo. Mum says the staff are really good and sometimes give her hugs. She has settled in well. My sister and I have peace of mind knowing that she is so well cared for in beautiful surroundings.
Very good care of Mum. Kept clean and tidy. Assisted with drinking and eating. Good relationships with all carers. Mum always seems comfortable.
My mum has been a resident at Grenham Bay for nearly 3 years now, she is very happy and looked after wery well, all her medication is sorted out for her and a nurse comes every week or when needed. She is encouraged to join in with the activites with other residents which is good for her mental health. The staff are very friendly and they do care. I can visit when I like which I do twice a week, her room is lovely and clean and as Mum cannot wash herself the carers keep her clean and washed every day. So very happy Mum is at Grenham Bay, it has given me great peace of mind, thank you.
I had respite care for two weeks after an operation so did not need any personal help unless I dropped something. I found the staff extremely pleasant and friendly. The food was very imaginative and enjoyable. All visitors were made welcome and brought tea/coffee and biscuits. The activities were fun to take part in and every effort was made to cater for those who liked to walk and also the odd excursion was available. Washing was whisked away and returned quickly. I would have no problems about going in full-time if I needed to.
My husband is a resident of Grenham Bay Court. Overall, I'm happy with the service to him. After a severe stroke that left him unable to stand, walk or converse. He isn't the easiest person to help. Not surprisingly he suffered with depression. I commend the staff for usually looking cheerful and smiling, despite often having difficult residents to look after. A minus is that it isn't unusual to see my husband only partially shaved and dinner around his mouth, admittedly he doesn't like being shaved but he can be persuaded as the carers managed to do when he was at home for 3.5 years. A friend who has her Mum there said her only dissatisfaction was that her mum often looked unkept.
After viewing quite a number of care homes this home is by far the best for my dad, the staff are wonderful, the food is very good, and freshly cooked and a very varied diet. My dad is very well looked after and I do not have any worries about his care and wellbeing.
My mother has been a resident at Grenham Bay Court for 8 months now. After a few initial teething problems, which were addressed promptly by management, Mum has settled in well. The staff managed Mum's hygiene very well, assisted Mum with her food and drinks and tried to manage her comfort level as best as possible, as she spends the majority of her time in bed. She is treated with dignity and respect by staff and management and I feel mum is kept safe. Her room is clean and comfortable and she has a lovely sea view. Some of the staff members make an effort to include Mum in leisure activities, taking her to the lounge to interact with other residents. They encourage her to take part in games, singing, spa treatments, church services etc., which does a world of good for her mental wellbeing. The quality of the meals are good and the menus are varied. I feel that this care home strives to improve service quality continuously, as any issues or concerns raised are swiftly dealt with.
The house is not able to deal with guests with brain injury as they dangerously advertised. Point one: Diet completely wrong and very dangerous for someone with a brain tumour, processed food etc etc. Guest suffered numerous falls, last time I counted I stopped at 22! which is completely unacceptable. If you complain they stop you from visiting which is also unacceptable. Sure, the place is very clean. Reaction intervention is super super slow. Once I entered the room while visiting and the guest was still on the floor. Not a place to consider for someone who suffered a brain injury or with a brain tumour. In this respect 0 out of 10.
Mum had a lovely respite care stay at Grenham Bay Court. The staff were all lovely and attended to her needs with care. Nothing was too much trouble and we are very grateful as mum is ninety five with severe physical disability and it was her first holiday since 2018.
Friendly, kind and happy staff. Good food and medication handled well. However, 3 weeks have gone by requesting hair wash and still not been done. Washing takes a while to come back.
The day staff are excellent, the night staff could be better. I have a nice sunny and bright room with a garden view. I have day trips out with residents and staff which I find very pleasant.
In recent months, the home appears to be short-staffed, one of the cooks has left or is long-term sick. Communication between staff is poor. The cleaning of public areas and hallways is not good. Basic cleaning in rooms but furniture not moved. I believe the staff care for the clients and try to do their best. In the last year, the turnover of experienced staff who know the clients has been high.
My sister moved into Grenham Bay Care on 4th April 2022, so we only have four weeks' experience. However, the staff have made her very welcome and assisted greatly in making her feel at home. There is always a choice of food for breakfast and also the main meal. My sister enjoys eating with others. She also has been encouraged to join in with the afternoon activities and trips out. Although she has dementia, she always remembers the time when they have musical entertainment. Any worries I might have, are addressed.
The Grenham Bay Court in Birchington have been really really good at looking after my great nana. They have been really helpful and cared for my great nan. I do miss her so thank you so much Grenham Bay Court for looking after my old-aged Great nana. Thank you so much for looking after her for us.
My mum had a hip replacement and was in Grenham Bay Court for one week to recuperate. The staff could not have been kinder and whatever Mum wanted was no trouble at all. The food was lovely, catering to all Mum's needs.
My dad was a resident here for only a year, but in that year my dad had a lovely home. All the carers were so lovely, patient and treated my dad like they were all family. We visited at least 1-3 times a week and were always made to feel so welcome. Sadly my dad passed away 3 weeks ago with my husband and me by his side. The staff were so lovely and genuinely sad that my dad had died, I can’t praise the staff and manager enough for looking after my dad and making it feel like his home. We will miss the visits and the wonderful staff. I can’t thank you enough for all your kindness.
I'm so happy that my mum is in such a lovely, caring and friendly care home. She has settled in so well due to the care and attention she receives from all the staff. Mum lived on her own, seeing me once a day, now there's always a friendly face to chat to. There are always activities that she can join in with. She always looks clean and tidy and happy when we visit her. I was worried about putting my mum in a home, now I'm so pleased we have, she gets the care and attention she needs.
This was a short visit to celebrate the resident's birthday. We started with an interview with a senior member of staff (without the presence of the resident) which was very informative and helpful. The resident was cheerful and coherent, which was an improvement from a year ago and she praised the staff frequently. Due to her immobility, she needs help to move around the home and the staff were excellent in this respect. The lunch was set up to give us some privacy, offered us a good choice of dishes and was really delicious. We were even given a choice of sherry or wine to celebrate the birthday! There always appeared to be a member of staff nearby who could offer help or information. Apart from two really nice presents and a card from the staff at the Home, a birthday cake had been prepared for a celebration later in the afternoon which we were, unfortunately, unable to enjoy with the resident, as we had to return home before it became dark. We really enjoyed our time together.
Both my mother in law and my aunt are residents at Grenham Bay. My mother in law has been there for 5 years and my aunt for coming up 2 years. The very best of a home for people unable to care for themselves. Lovely rooms, amazing kind carers. All the staff are kind and thoughtful. The maintenance man is the most helpful guy and nothing is too much for him. The kitchen staff/chefs go out of their way to please the residents. The housekeepers keep everything really clean, the one thing that bothered me about care homes was the smell. I can honestly say, that is never the case at Grenham. The senior staff are always available to answer/help you in any way they can. The manager is kind and approachable at any time. Amazing sense of humour which really makes myself and aunt/ mother in law feel comfortable with him. I could not be happier with this home. Highly recommended.
