View Full Details of Cedar Park Nursing HomeEverything we experienced at Cedar Park Nursing Home is to be highly commended. Staff at every level were extremely sympathetic, understanding and helpful and demonstrated great patience and kindness to residents. The palliative care given to our friend could not have been bettered. We will be ever grateful for it.
The most pleasant nursing home I have visited. My brother is so well cared for. The staff are excellent - so pleasant and so welcoming. Food is terrific too. Thank you. It could not be better.
I am one of a group of friends who found ourselves caring for a mutual friend who was terminally ill with cancer. After a terrible few weeks when he was in and out of hospital, and we were having to share the role of primary carer at his home, he was ultimately released from the hospital into your care. It was such a relief to feel that we were no longer responsible for him on a daily basis and we were all really impressed with the level of care he received from you right up until he passed away. The staff were all brilliant, regularly checking in on him and really caring him for him. Weekly checks by a doctor and specialised nurses added to the comprehensive package of care he received. Although he was unable to eat very much, the food was excellent, even to the point when some piping hot fish and chips, followed by rice pudding, were left untouched, my wife said she'd book me a place in the future when she could see how much my mouth was watering!
My experience of care homes over the years has been where they have provided end of life care for members of my family and for friends. The quality of the care that I have seen at Cedar Park is exceptionally high and this applies to all members of staff that I have met from the top through the entire team. The compassion and care that I have experienced here and the excellent communication makes a huge difference at a time when friends and family are trying to navigate uncharted waters. Hospice nurses have been absolutely incredible working closely with staff at Cedar Park. It's extremely important to feel that you are all in safe, qualified and experienced hands at this critical time in our lives. The staff excel at this and seeing how they all genuinely care passionately about how they can help make a dire situation completely tolerable, even joyful at times is a huge blessing. Thank you all so much.
My god father spent the final few weeks of his life at Cedar Park Nursing Home. Without exception, the staff were attentive, caring, kind and professional. There were some complicated medical requirements involving wound dressings, and visits from a specialist tissue nurse and another nurse confirmed that the wounds were being managed very well. I would recommend this home without reservation.
My much loved mum came to you for 'end of life' care and she and the family were made to feel very welcome and safe with the level of care in place. Staff were super friendly, dedicated and professional in all aspects of nursing care and provided the much needed support to her and the family at this sad time in their lives. Will be ever grateful. Strongly recommended!
The staff are always helpful and happy to answer questions. The quality of food is always good and plentiful. I would like to receive a detailed bill with items charged under sundries.
My father has been a resident of Cedar Park Nursing Home for several weeks now. He has been very poorly throughout that time and has received outstanding care from the staff. Everybody is so patient and caring, I cannot find fault. The care home is beautiful and scrupulously clean, the laundry service is excellent - nothing has been misplaced. All staff are extremely courteous and helpful and I feel my father is very safe. I can, without hesitation, thoroughly recommend Cedar Park.
Our mum was in Cedar Park Nursing Home for end of life care. The care that she received for the short time she was there was 100%. I couldn't fault anything. The staff was also 100%, they just could not do enough for her. Every time I left the home I knew in my own mind Mum would be looked after and in safe hands - thank you everyone for what you did for Mum.
Could do with more variation on special diets plus trying different food textures to encourage good eating practices. The staff very helpful and friendly, the care home environment is good but the resident's rooms are a bit sparse and could do with some more home comforts, but are adequate.
A wonderful care home! Cared for my mum with a terminal cancer diagnosis. Showed professional care for my mum with dignity, respect and kindness. Could not have asked for more!
Generally, a lovely place for my father to be. A beautiful garden, although the paths could be made more user-friendly. Huge rooms with great views. Staff were friendly and helpful. No phone on the floor for resident use, unless they could get to the staff phone and that was corded. Plenty of food which my father enjoyed, although only fruit was with the pudding (that I saw). The manager and admin staff were friendly and helpful and encouraged visitors to participate in celebrations with the residents. Safety was good, each bed had a personal alarm and there was a code to go through the door to the staircase. The nurses were kind and helpful.
My mum has been a resident of Cedar Park Nursing Home since April 2020. Before Christmas I was glad to take the opportunity, on my weekly visit to see my mum, to thank the staff, through the manager, for their dedication, care and encouragement of my mother. I am very happy with the way all the staff have supported my mum through the difficult times of separation (Covid). My mum tells me how much she enjoys the activities and entertainment organised for each day and the tasty meals provided. I feel my mum has come out of her shell and is taking part in how her time is spent each day within the Cedar Park "family".
My dad had a very short time at Cedar Park Nursing Home, the care he received was the best, as a family, we could have asked for. Dad was treated with the care and dignity he deserved. The doors of the rooms being left open made for a homely feel and a feeling of being included. The staff that we met were all polite and of smart appearance and could not do enough for you. The young manager is an asset to the home going above and beyond to make us, as a family, feel fully included in Dad's end-of-life care. It is such a shame that Dad wasn't able to take advantage of all the facilities and the wonderful view from his room due to having a terminal illness.
My brother was looked after extremely well. Even though it was a short time. The staff, from the manager to carers, were very respectful to all the family.
From the first contact, through to admission at Cedar Park, the process was friendly, quick and efficient. Management, staff and care given have been excellent, notwithstanding the constraints of the Georgian building. Thanks to the effort put in by the staff, my mother quickly adjusted to her new home and her nursing needs quickly improved. She joins in the stimulating activities programme and as a family, we appreciated the home hosting my mother's 90th birthday celebrations recently.
I have nothing but praise for all the staff at Cedar Park Nursing Home. They are all a hard-working team and genuinely care about the residents and nothing is too much trouble. My brother-in-law has been a resident for eleven months and he is very happy with the care he receives.
My mum transferred from another care home. Her legs were covered in scabs and she was very unhappy. Since she arrived at Cedar Park Nursing Home her legs have greatly improved and although she hasn't completely settled she seems so much happier.
I have found the staff to be professional and caring with carers and nurses tending to be long stay and knowing their resident's preferences. The home is clean and staff are polite and welcoming to our family. They respect our family's concerns regarding the health aspects of my parents and share information which makes us feel part of the very supportive team. We know that the doctor is a regular visitor and residency has taken away the years of worry of, should we call the doctor or not, and we know that if action is required, it is quick. Activity organisers are enthusiastic and there is always an afternoon event every weekday. The conservatory is a perfect place for a cup of coffee with the residents looking over the well-tended gardens where we have sat, walked and enjoyed the fresh air. For special occasions, the manager and team have supported our family having a party in Cedar Park something that has proved most important to the wellbeing of my parents. My parents have stated many times that the homemade food is wonderful. They eat well and enjoy mealtimes.
The care given to my mother is first class. The place is spotlessly clean and the meals are tasty and cooked on site. All the staff are approachable and my mum seems very happy here.
