View Full Details of Barchester Lanercost House Care HomeMy mum was admitted to Barchester Lanercost House Care Home on 10th October. The whole process was dealt with professionally and very quickly. Although her time there was short, she was given the best care, compassion and love from all the staff as she came to her end of life. We, as a family will be eternally grateful to the team that mum was kept comfortable and well cared for. Thank you all so much
When I arrived to see this facility, I was delighted! It is in a nice location and beautifully maintained. The staff are all lovely very friendly and helpful. I feel Dad is in a very caring environment and is very well looked after. As I live abroad, this is extremely important to me. Staff have gone out of their wat to ensure that Dad is catered for in everyway. As I leave to go home, I am happy to leave him in your care and hope he continues to thrive as much as possible.
My husband's aunt enjoyed a ten-night stay at Barchester Lanercost House Care Home while we went on holiday. She thoroughly enjoyed it and we were able to enjoy our break without having to worry about her. She really enjoyed the food and the company of others at meal times but enjoyed being able to return to her room to spend time in her own company. She said that all the staff were lovely and very caring and couldn't do enough for her. She is looking forward to a visit again later in the year.
My expereince of putting my mum in for respite is excellent. The warm welcome of all the staff was amazing. Within a week, they had got my mum up, walking with the simmer into the dining room and lounges that she was unable to do at home due to having falls. Everyone is so helpful and lovely with my mum. A special thank you to the manager, who got my mum in at short notice. The facilities are a lovely touch, for example, a coffee lounger and hairdressing salon. Very clean and relaxed atmosphere. Five-star food and drink.
Only one thing to say "excellent" none better.
My aunt came to Lanercost in August 2023 gravely ill. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Lanercost, they not only revived her but gave her and the family 12 more months of life. During the 12 months, my aunt received quality, loving care and was able to enjoy a reasonable quality of life again. All staff (manager deputy, reception, nurses carers, cleaners, catering, maintenance) were always polite, courteous and helpful and displayed exemplary and professional standards. Barchester should be proud.
Staff are always warm and welcoming. I believe my aunt is well taken care of by staff. Facilities are always clean and tidy. Wish the sofas could be changed, they look old and run-down.
They seem to be doing a good job. My aunt always looks in goo health and they look like they care about her.
My father is a resident of the Priory Unit. All staff are professional very caring and friendly. Varied activities are provided on a daily basis. The quality of all meals is excellent. Care plans are individualised and my father has thrived since being a resident.
I would like to say a massive thank you to the whole team at Sycamore Unit for looking after my dad over the past two years. Unfortunately, he sadly passed away in April; however, I was so impressed with the compassion and care everyone showed to my brother and me, and more importantly, to my dad at the end. During the two years, my dad loved at Lanercost, we were all made to feel like a big family. I would recommend the home to anyone.
Our friend needed care after an operation. She also had dementia, and in time, will need permanent care, which she had been against. However, after a short time at Lanercost. She has thrived and looks better than we have seen her in a long time. She tells all her visitors how wonderful the staff are and how comfortable she is there. We could not have found her a better place to stay. Thank you, Lanercost.
I would like to say a big thank you to the carers and nurses on the piory ward, my mam was a resident there for 4 years and they all looked after her and I know my mam would have been overwhelmed. My mam passed away on the 22nd of February, we got the call the Friday before that to go and say our goodbyes. I stayed with her to the end. The staff wanted to say their last goodbyes to my mam and that meant so much to me. They looked after me all the time I stayed there so I would like to say a big thank you to all of you.
I find the staff to be extremely professional, keen, enthusiastic, caring and friendly. The atmosphere of the homes good and seems to be well-staffed. My mother-in-law was welcomed into the home's 'family' and is well known by staff who help make the stay comfortable, safe and inclusive. I also find the staff interact with families exactly the same way.
My family chose Lanercost for a respite break for my Father when his mobility declined to a point where my Mum could no longer manage at home on her own. Whilst we set up Home Care, Dad had a break in Lanercost. At the time of writing, he has been there for about a week, and he is so settled. I cannot tell you the weight off my mind/shoulders in seeing how well cared for he is. He has been extolling the virtues of how lovely all the staff are. His room is clean as is the whole facility and it feels like such a safe, warm space. He is a big foodie and cannot sing the praises enough of the catering, and they have accommodated his diabetes requirements splendidly. The staff at Lanercost have been lifesavers in supporting my family at what was a tricky time and I cannot thank or recommend them enough.
Barchester Lanercost House Care Home is such a welcoming and friendly care home. The environment is very clean and fresh and the decor is impeccable. The staff, from management to nurses to the cleaners, are outstanding in the care and attention they give to each and every resident, no resident is ever left without attention and each and everyone has a nurse/carer to escort them to the restaurant at mealtimes. The standard of love, care and attention in Lanercost is absolutely premier league! I simply cannot find fault, I've tried but cannot... outstanding.
My father chose Barchester Lanercost House Care Home for respite care when his Parkinson's became unimaginable for him (mainly anxiety problems). As a family, we have been extremely impressed with everything about the home and every member of staff that we have met. This combines the luxury of a hotel with the warmth of a family home. The place is spotless, the food delicious and every need is catered for (resident and family). We were impressed by the welcoming sitting room with tea and coffee facilities (also cakes) for all. My father has now decided to stay longer.
My husband was in for respite and although reluctant to go, he had a positive stay. He was treated with the utmost respect and care. The food choice was amazing and he had plenty of visitors who commented on how nice the home was, clean, fresh and tidy and that the 'bistro' was an unexpected treat.
The dementia care my mother received while in Barchester Lanercost House Care Home has been of the highest order. All of the staff have been excellent and it is a very caring environment, not only for her but for the family as well.
I am very impressed with my husband's care. Excellent care is given. Fantastic staff. Everyone is very caring to my husband and myself. It's so lovely he's being cared for so well. I am so pleased there are activities he can be involved in and enjoy. Nothing is any trouble to the staff, always there when you need to talk to them. It was nice that I was asked what his interests are, in this home they want him to enjoy his interests as much as possible. Lovely to see him kept clean and smart. Very homely. I can't praise them enough.
My mum has recently had two weeks' respite while we were on holiday. From when we first enquired about homes and on speaking to the manager, we knew this would be an excellent choice. My mum was extremely apprehensive but from the moment we went in she was put at ease. After 10 minutes the drinks trolley arrived with freshly baked, homemade treats. I spoke to my mum on a daily basis and she 'raved' every day about the care, the food and staff in general. She said that all the little touches that the staff have put in place were just lovely. Sweeties on all the corridors beautifully laid tables and a food menu that was fantastic. They catered for every pallet. My mum is very picky. She said the staff were genuinely happy to assist her. The renovation did not impact my mum's care at all. Everyone from domestic to maintenance staff were amazing. Thank you so much to the manager, I wish I could write 1000 more words because we are so grateful. Thank you all so much.
