View Full Details of Colton Lodges Care HomeMy uncle was admitted to Colton Lodge on 30/1/2025, discharged from hospital. He was very poorly. I feel the care staff at Colton looked after him very well and treated him with dignity. Also very happy with the management.
Just want to say a huge thank you to all staff at Colton Lodges. From Management to cleaners, everyone makes the effort to remember residents names, their likes and dislikes and always give visitors a warm welcome. I felt like they were an extended family to both myself and my dad. My late father was a real character who kept staff on their toes! The staff loved him and cared greatly for him. He refused to join in anything and everything, but they persisted in asking just in case he changed his mind. I was kept updated with everything in relation to my dad's care and nothing was too much trouble. I cannot recommend this care facility enough. They deserve a Good rating for their next CQC as they are truly amazing.
My daughter is very happy at Colton Lodge and she is well cared for and looked after. I am always kept informed on how she is and how she is doing and if there are any concerns. She enjoys the music and entertainment and loves it when the staff play board games with her.
The care is good - the staff are kind. Mum is happy, we feel that sometimes the staff are a bit careless regarding mum's personal items. Her false teeth were thrown away, her hearing aids were lost, items of clothing (all of which are named) have gone missing and her wheelchair was damaged (at a cost of £100 to us!). Obviously mum doesn't know about any of this and would be very upset if she did know.
We are very pleased with the way mum settled into life at Colton Lodges Care Home. Mum feels safe, well looked after and no longer lonely. The staff in Garforth are all amazing, the unit is well run by a member of staff and her team. We have no concerns. Mums only request is for a nicer outside space to use in the summer and some flowers to look at.
My mum is asked whether she wants to get out of bed or have a shower as soon as she wakes. When she says no she is not asked again. Mum is bed bound now and often does not get a wash - she uses face wipes and I brush her teeth when I arrive each day at 4pm (even though these basic care duties have been brought up by me before). Often given a cup which she can not hold and food she cannot cut up or chew. Some, but not all, staff do not speak to her when attending her.
My friend is well looked after. I am happy with their care.
My mum has been a resident of Colton Lodges Care Home since February 2020 and in all this time, we have been happy with the care and dignity with which she has been treated. She can no longer sit in the lounge and join in any activities but she always looks warm and cosy in her room. A big thank you to the carers on the Newsam Wing.
She seems well settled and always seems calm and happy. The staff all seem to interact well with all the residents.
Very happy!
The home is clean, good food. Husband is well looked after. Day staff have a good relationship with both husband and family. Room is nice, would prefer hard flooring not carpet. The activity staff are lovely, trips are good such as nature walks/pubs.
Mum has been here for nearly 2 years and has been well cared for. The staff are very caring and treat her like member of their family. If I have concerns about mum, the staff are very responsive and I fell I can raise anything with them. Mum is on Newsam and I feel this unit has improved so much in the past year. There are lots of activities and opportunities to take trips out. Mum says she likes it here and everything is here for her.
Excellent home and staff would not hesitate to recommend this place.
All concerns discussed were quickly addressed.
My sister has been a resident of Colton Lodges Care Home for almost 4 years now. Her condition has deteriorated in that time but the kindness and care has stayed the same high standard. Thank you.
Mum moved here from another residential - only home as she now needs nursing care. We are very happy with the care she has received. The staff are lovely and well trained and she is treated with care and consideration. Particularly as she is living with dementia. She has thrived here, and we are so happy to see her doing so well.
When I go and visit my brother, I can see for myself the good care he gets. The food is excellent. You can go to any staff if there is a problem. They are so kind and caring, nothing is too much trouble. The entertainment and activities are good. They are taken on trips. It is a very well run home.
My mum has been in Colton Lodges Care Home for 4 months now and she is happy and looked after. The nurses and staff are always happy to help and will listen to you if you have any problems. The nurses and staff will also keep you informed of any issues with your loved one. I can sleep easier knowing she is safe and that mum is being cared for with compassion and care.
The staff are extremely helpful and caring towards residents. The food is lovely and residents are encouraged to eat and choose food that they want. All residents are treated with dignity and respect. Any issues that I raise with staff are dealt with quickly.
Mum moved to this home on closure of her council run care home, a big thing for an elderly 91 year old frail lady. Colton Lodges Care Home have made the move easy and made mum feel really welcome. She has now settled and it is good to again enjoy quality time with her.
