View Full Details of Grove Hill Care HomeVery happy with all the care Mum is receiving. Grove Hill is a very clean and comfortable home, and the food looks good and plenty for Mum's needs. The manager and staff are friendly and always have time to update on Mum's care.
Initially, Dad came as a respite client. As he responded so well to the care and attention he received over those two weeks, we as a family decided that he and mum would benefit from him becoming a permanent client and he has continued to do well. We love seeing the interactions of the staff with their clients. They take a personal interest in them, are very very patient and treat them like a family member, all staff - manager, financial manager, carers and kitchen staff. I have also enjoyed the range of activities available although Dad is reluctant to join in sometimes.
This is on behalf of the family regarding our mum residing at Grove Hill Care Home. This home has a wonderful, homely and welcoming vibe no matter what time of day we choose to visit. The staff team are amazing, always polite and always with smiles. We are sure our mum has challenged them during her first arrival and settling period - this has never seemed to influence their positive approach when providing support to our mum. Over recent months, our mum has accepted this as her home, and although we see the decline in her physical and mental well-being, we also see she is safe and, in her world (as it is now), generally happy. Thank you.
The home is clean and the staff are friendly.
My Mother moved to Grove Hill Care Home in February 2023. As anyone who has or is going through this type of move it is heart wrenching. The staff at The Grove made everything so much easier for us all. They welcomed Mum with open arms have made her feel at home. They treat her with utmost respect and dignity. The food, cleanliness and the staff are first rate. My Dad is able to visit Mum and have a meal with her. The Grove have just gone above and beyond to help him with this transition. A wonderful Care Home. I am so glad Mum is with you. Thank you for all you do.
Grove Hill Care Home is a welcoming place, the love that fills the home is felt when you enter the room. Staff go above and beyond to adhere to the residents' needs. They stimulate residents and help them to be independent. They also understand the residents' needs and care for their relatives. They encourage them all to participate in the activities provided and celebrate birthdays and special occasions.
My father has been at Grove Hill Care Home, since the 14th March 2020 which was actually the day that the care homes in the UK went into their first lockdown. We then couldn't see him for over a year, which was heartbreaking but the saving grace was that the people at this care home took such amazing care of my father and most importantly kept them all safe. All I can say is how very pleased myself and my family have been with the care received at Grove Hill, the friendliness, the staff, always with a smile on their face, as well as treating my dad with the dignity he deserves. Thank you.
My mother spent six very happy years at Grove Hill. Over the last few years, the home has been through a revamp under the new owners, and I must say, it's been a pleasure to watch the changes. The staff are unbelievably caring to all residents; they all seem to love their jobs. The care and compassion that they showed during my mother's time there and especially as my mother neared the end of her life, were more than I could ever have asked for. Grove Hill Care Home is a wonderful place to care for your loved ones.
I have only been here for a short time, but everyone knows me, and the residents are friendly. We went to an animal park last week, and it was a lovely day out. The residents are still talking about it. This is a small home, but lovely. The food is good and plenty of it.
I can highly recommend Grove Hill and have been extremely happy with the level of care, love and respect they have shown my mother who has been a resident since August 2020. It was such a difficult decision to make to move Mum to the home, especially after the pandemic but I have nothing but praise for all the staff that show so much care and patience for all the residents. Any requests we have had in regards to Mum's care are met and I know each worker really does understand Mum and her needs. It has made such a hard decision so much easier knowing how well looked after she is and the home has a real big family feel to it. Thank you to everyone who helps with Mum.
I cannot rate Grove Hill Care Home highly enough. The Grandmother of my children lived here for 5 odd years, suffering from dementia. She sadly died last Thursday. Her main carer and all the staff are so caring and kind - they are genuinely fond of all the residents. They go the extra mile. She was very happy here. Even during her last few dying days, the respect and care was still evident - it was permanent - in how they would treat a family member of their own. You need have no worries if you are having to make the difficult decision of where your loved one should live - this superbly run Care Home and all the incredible staff tick all the boxes.
The level of care Mum receives at Grove Hill is first-rate. From the Care Home Manager to all of the staff including cleaners, they have been outstanding in the provision of care to Mum and others. Whenever I visit I see the carers constantly helping people, and raising spirits with their sunny outlook. Mum has already been chaperoned to the shops, a donkey sanctuary with a 'tea and dance' booked soon. While the facilities are rather ordinary, it is the care on offer that stands out above all else - I am comforted by the fact I know Mum is happy and well cared for.
My mother had dementia which got progressively worse over her time at Grove Hill, but in her last days, she had other complications in which the carers in the home were exemplary in their care for her, keeping me informed of any change in circumstances. The love the staff show for the residents can only be compared to their own family values. When visiting the home, again, the staff were always happy to see us and kept Mum as comfortable as they possibly could. Would recommend the home without hesitation.
One hour per week makes it very difficult to provide a realistic assessment. In general, I find the staff caring and quite happy to give their time to ensure that the residents are happy and cared for. Sometimes cases arise and then situations arise which entails occasions must be prioritised to ensure the general safety of the residents. I find that the visits are rather embarrassing with all sundry wandering whilst we are attempting to have a conversation. I like to think that occasionally I would be allowed to take my wife out for a short drive to give her a change of environment.
Great family place, everybody is so caring and can ask the carers anything and they will help you with whatever they can. All staff are very easy to talk to and you can ring day and night. One of the carers has added me to her Facebook so I can FaceTime my mum whenever I like.
My husband was with Grove Hill Care Home for six months - during that time he was really cared for and looked after in a way I would not have been able to do. I am so very grateful to all the carers - thank you.
My father has been at Grove Hill for six years and he is 101 years old. The care he has is excellent, the staff are very caring and work hard for all the residents. Dad always looks neat and tidy, he has a shower every day, his shirts are always ironed nicely and he likes his food. If I do not see him I speak to him every day on What's App in lockdown, they were well looked after.
My mum was trying out Grove Hill to see if she liked it. From the moment I picked up the phone to book her in I had a feeling of peace about her staying there. As soon as she arrived the staff welcomed her in with a cuppa and some sandwiches. She enjoyed eating the tasty meals, she liked her room, and chatting with fellow residents and staff. She had clean clothes on every day and even had her hair cut. She was happy in the few days she was there. Unfortunately, mum’s heart was giving up and she passed away suddenly. I cannot fault the staff they looked after mum and gave her excellent care for her last few days. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Grove Hill.
My mother has resided at the Grove Hill Care Home since January 2019. From the first day she was made to feel loved and cared for and 'one of the family'. We have always been extremely delighted and relieved to know that our Mother is treated with the love and respect she deserves. The home changed hands in November 2019; which was seamless and had no effect on the level of care what so ever.
This facility is not just a care home - it is a home that cares! My mother needs 24-hour care, and the wonderful staff at Grove Hill make sure she is clean, safe and loved. Seeing how staff compassionately and respectfully treat residents here is a true lesson in humanity. At last, we have found a worry-free environment where our Mm can feel at home. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Grove Hill.
