View Full Details of Silverwood Care HomeI would like to thank all the staff at Silverwood Care Home for their love and care of my parents. I am especially writing to thank them for the care they showed to my father and us in his last few days. All the staff were so attentive and caring. They continually came to check my Dad was comfortable and were very gentle with him. They looked after us as well and brought cups of tea and snacks. I am so grateful for their kindness.
I would like to thank the staff and management for looking after my husband for 5 and a half years. The care was excellent, especially during Covid when my husband was very ill, but the Head Nurse got him through. He was always kept clean and well-nourished. The atmosphere at the home was always happy. He was also encouraged to join in activities which he enjoyed. The home work together as a team and the changes in the residents after settling in are noticeable. The compassion and care near the end for my husband was wonderful. I would certainly recommend this home.
End of life care was excellent, could not fault anything. Staff very attentive.
The above care home was a pleasant place to be. It was bright and very clean in all the areas I visited. The staff were pleasant and helpful whenever I visited. I was very pleased that my husband was 'turned' every two hours during the day to help with the pain of bedsores. My husband was not able to partake in activities due to his illness but was encouraged to sit in his chair when well enough.
My mum moved into Silverwood in April 2023 when she needed to move to nursing care, which her previous home did not provide. From the first day, she was lovingly cared for and well attended. Mum settled in easily and was very content. The staff were wonderful with her and supported us too, especially during the end of her life. We are so thankful to them for making her last months so comfortable.
My wife was transferred to Silverwood Care Home after it was felt that her condition could not adequately be cared for at her previous home. Having been to see various homes I was impressed by what I considered to be the best care and attention I had seen. I was especially pleased that no agency staff were used. While she was there she was treated with care and respect, nothing being too much trouble. She was always up, dressed and washed. The staff were always friendly, smiling and helpful and the management always had time to answer any questions. I cannot speak more highly of the care she received in her last months and have no hesitation in saying I would recommend Silverwood Care Home to any family requiring first-class care and attention.
Was a terrible time when my husband had to go into a care home but thankfully Silverwood Care Home made the transition very easy and caring for both my husband and myself. The staff are very caring and are always there for both of us. Very glad that we chose Silverwood.
Mum became a resident 4 years ago entering residential, eventually moving to nursing. The level of care that Mum received on both sides was second to none even though her mood was variable and at times quite challenging. By the first week in August, at almost 102, it was becoming apparent that Mum might not have very long as she fell into a deep sleep but the staff continued to rally around treating Mum with the same care, compassion, love and jolliness as they always did, willing her to keep going, speaking to her as if she was awake. Mum’s end-of-life care was wonderful. Her room was made cosy and her favourite music was playing on the radio. She was kept comfortable and staff made time to pop in to hold her hand and speak to her. The last moments were very sad but I had the whole of the Silverwood family offering their support. They were more than marvellous! From Management across the board, they are a family and we can never thank them enough for their outstanding care of Mum.
It is hard to find words to express thanks to Silverwood, Beeston, for the care my mother received during the time she lived there over several years. She had already had a long independent life and only entered the home at the grand old age of 98. She passed away on 7th August, just 3 weeks away from her 102nd birthday. Her mind deteriorated further while she was there and she became quite difficult at times. However, at all times she was cared for with great dignity and even love. The team did all they could to make her comfortable and kept us, her three daughters, aware of anything we needed to know regarding her care. The home felt like a lovely family and we were counted as members of the family too. My mum's health failed 2 weeks before she passed away, and we asked that she should stay at the home rather than be taken into hospital, where she could not receive such care and attention. Their final act of love was to dress her beautifully for her final journey. Thank you.
From her arrival in November 2019, to her passing away in August 2023, Silverwood has been the best thing that could have happened for my mother and her family. A lady with strong opinions, she was looked after with patience and kindness and encouraged to join in the various activities provided, which she came to enjoy. We met virtually during the pandemic with video calls and were kept up to date when she was nursed diligently through illness. Her 100th birthday was celebrated with a wonderful party, with the staff going the extra mile to make it a day to remember. She also had little tea party for her 101st so we could enjoy it together. We cannot thank the manager and staff enough for all they have done, but especially for looking after her and us when her time came just three weeks before her 102nd birthday. She was cared for in her last days with dignity and love, the staff showed genuine grief when she finally passed away. Silverwood can be highly recommended on all levels.
Amazing day, had a fabulous time. Ran very professionally and the staff were brilliant. Can't wait for the next one, just what everyone needed. Well done Silverwood.
My aunt came to Silverwood from the hospital. It’s been a breath of fresh air. The whole process was made very easy, and the staff have been extremely considerate and kind to us. It’s nice to see my aunt going out for dinner and doing things that she’s not been able to do on her own for a long time. Silverwood has given her a new lease on life. She’s made some lovely friends and adores the staff.
My father was well looked after, and the staff were always caring, kind and considerate. Management and office staff were always on hand to help with any queries we had. When my father was dying, the manager was amazing - she sat with my dad until I arrived; she was always checking on us and explained everything that would happen after he passed. I would recommend this home to anyone who asked; we were always made to feel welcome and had very attentive staff.
My father-in-law was always cared for and treated with respect, and the care staff were always on hand to help and take care of him. The management team were really good when my father-in-law was really poorly and finally passed. All the residents seemed happy and cared for.
Dad received a high standard of care from the team at Silverwood. They were kind, caring, considerate and knowledgeable about his condition. We were able to visit at any time, which gave us confidence that Dad was safe, comfortable and well looked after. He put weight on during his time there and particularly enjoyed the puddings!
We had been looking for a nursing home and got recommended Silverwood from a family friend. I can honestly say, from having a look around to losing Father, Silverwood went above and beyond for not only my father but myself and my family. The staff are so compassionate. I was unsure at first, but the kindness of the staff is what swayed my decision. Thank you, Silverwood.
I searched high and low for a care home for Dad and it wasn’t an easy task. I visited Silverwood unannounced and met the manager and her team and the rest is history. Dad has been there for a few months now and the care and support we all receive is amazing. There is a very homely feel coupled with quality expertise. Everybody cares and we have been made welcome at every visit. Thank you so much everyone. You are the best.
Sadly I could not look after my wife at home anymore as her needs were too great, such a hard decision was made to feel very comfortable and the process was handled with such compassion and care by the managers. The care staff are wonderful and did anything to accommodate her needs. Wonderful people, wonderful home.
The staff and management have been very helpful to myself and my husband. It was a massive decision for my husband to go to a care home, but I'm glad he came to Silverwood. I know that he is cared for when I can't be with him, and he is treated with respect.
My mum recently had the pleasure of staying at Silverwood. I am in complete awe of how this team pull together and makes every day special. No matter how busy the staff were nothing was ever too much trouble and everyone was happy to help. The management and admin were very knowledgeable and quickly put any questions I had into workable sections. The care and compassion shown to my mum in her last weeks were second to none. I felt supported and loved by the staff and felt included in all aspects of her care. They work together like a big family. My only regret is that we didn't find Silverwood earlier. I want people to know just what a special place this is. Nothing was ever too much trouble for anyone.
