View Full Details of Elizabeth Lodge Rest HomeMy mother, who has vascular dementia, went to Elizabeth Lodge Rest Home on the 18th of April 2023 for two weeks. It is the second time my mother has been in here and she was looked after very well. All my family that visited Mom up to the 27th of April 2023, when she came out, remarked to me how kindly they were all treated in visiting. She was always clean, well-dressed and very happy.
I am always welcomed at the door with a smile. The staff are warm and friendly and very attentive to all that live in the home. I feel that nothing is too much trouble they are always on hand for anyone's needs. It's a pleasure visiting the home.
I have struggled with the decision to put my mum in a home which was something she did not want but what a difference in her she is so happy. She came to the home in a very bad state having been in a 6 week placement and was so depressed and was recovering from Covid that made her seriously ill. Within 2 weeks she was happier and started to put on weight and a year on and she is a different person. The care is so good and they are treated like this is their home. If they want to stay in bed longer they can. Games is fun for them and I would like to thank the management, nursing staff, games staff etc a big thank you for looking after my mum so well. This is a first class home and if I could recommend it anymore I would. It’s a smaller care home where the care is exemplary.
My father moved into Elizabeth Lodge last year and has now been there for 6 months. From the moment he first moved in the care and welcome has been first class. All the staff are friendly and approachable and take a great pride in their work and show a genuine care for their residents. The home has a regular programme of visitors, providing for hairdressing and chiropody and external entertainment. The medical care has been very good with the home quickly responding to any changes to dad’s health and providing effective liaison with the Nurses Hub or doctor’s surgery when necessary. A phrase often used by staff is that this is the residents home, there are no restrictions on visits and overall it has a very homely feel. There is always plenty of home cooked food and the home is always very clean and nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff. Overall, my dad is very happy at Elizabeth Lodge and I along with my dad’s family are very pleased with the environment and care provided.
My father visited Elizabeth Lodge when my mother-in-law was a resident and made a passing comment that, were he ever to end up in a care home, he'd like to be somewhere like this. Be careful what you wish for; a few years later, when he became unable to live independently and suffering from some medical issuers - he moved in. The care has been exemplary. Not just the physical care but the friendly, personal interaction, the activities, and the trips out. The medical care was outstanding when he suffered complications of his existing medical issues and developed further ones. We were always confident that not only was he in safe hands but that he was receiving the best care. The ethos of the home that the home is the residents own is reflected in the socialisation, plentiful home-cooked meals and regular visits from opticians, hairdressers, chiropodists, singers and entertainers, and of course, the local district nurses. The home is kept immaculately clean, and nothing is too much trouble.
I have been visiting Elizabeth Lodge for about ten years. My father has been a resident for six years and is settled and happy. He is treated with dignity and respect and enjoys a good rapport with the staff. The atmosphere is that of a home with plenty of life, fun and activities in a safe environment.
Mum has been at Elizabeth Lodge for approx four years. During this time, her care has been professionally delivered with compassion and care. Agency staff are very rarely, if ever used, meaning that the staff have built a relationship with Mum and they understand her needs.
My Mum has been at Elizabeth Lodge since the end of October 2017 and really loves it. The staff has been really wonderful. Very caring and thoughtful. They have lots of activities, either in a group or one to one. The rooms are always clean and tidy and the meals are, which is good as Mum is always hungry. Mum loves all the girls and has good banter with them and makes them laugh. We, as a family, are very hay with her care and feel she is safe, secure, and happy. In this difficult time, they are doing everything they can to make sure we can keep in touch by phone, video calling, or through the window. Thank you so much girls.
My mum has just moved into the home and already it feels like she has been there for a long time. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and I can't ask for a better care provider.
I chose Elizabeth Lodge Rest Home for my father mainly on first impressions. The first being the smile I received and the cleanliness of the home. The room my dad had was ensuite and very comfy. A very good menu was provided every day. The attention my dad received was very one on one which helped him immensely. At his passing, the management put extra staff so he was never alone until his death and hours that followed. I myself can only thank them and hope the if I needed somewhere, Elizabeth Lodge Rest Home would be for me.
This is an incredible nursing home for people with dementia. The love and care they give to clients is remarkable. Carers always find time to talk and engage with clients.
My father was a resident at Elizabeth lodge before passing away in August this year - a total of 18 months. his short illness and the process of his passing were handled with care, tact and sensitivity by the management and staff. Medical care was called for immediately and whenever thought necessary. The whole episode was in keeping with everything I'd come to expect. The care shown to my father over his residence was wonderful, as if the staff were personal friends. I have nothing but admiration for all the staff involved in his care and wellbeing.
The staff are very caring and have looked after my aunt for the last 3 years. A short while ago her sister who was also a resident, passed away and the staff showed considerable care and concern to both my aunt and our family. My aunt is very happy there and well looked after. We celebrated her 90th birthday and they put on a party tea for her with a birthday cake. She was so pleased and we all had a lovely tea to remember. A big thank you to the manager and staff.
My aunt has been a resident at Elizabeth Lodge for a few years now and seems happy, contented and relaxed there. We visited today for her 90th birthday and were made to feel welcome. She was presented with a lovely cake complete with candles which was a very nice thing. We had a good visit. Thanks go to the friendly and helpful staff.
I visit my aunt every couple of weeks. I find the home very friendly. I am always greeted by smiling staff who tell me where my aunt is sitting. I am asked if I would like a drink and told how my aunt is. There are normal activities going on, card making, colouring, playing games etc. Everyone is invited to join in and helped to make the most of their day. Having had relatives in several homes in the area I regard this as the best I have been in. The staff are excellent with a low turnover which speaks for itself.
Having dealt with 3 other providers I can only say that this "home" is above average. It specialises in Dementia and really does provide a home to its residents. The staff are caring and considerate and "care" about all the residents. I have used this home for 2 relatives for over 3 years and anyone with a relative suffering from Dementia will find it difficult to criticise. The environment is excellent and no noticeable smells which I have experienced before at other locations. Just keep up the good work.
Staff are helpful and caring. Keep on top of any medical issues, DRS, district nurses, opticians etc. Talk to relatives with any concerns regularly. Alarm cushions in bedroom and day chairs- always accompany vulnerable to toilet or change of room.
My mum has been at this home for a year now and she has been very well cared for. The staff are all very caring and friendly and nothing is every any trouble. The home is very clean and welcoming. My mum is very happy there.
This care home is outstanding. Whenever we visit as a relative we are offered a cup of tea. The residents all seem content and probably happy. Our relative, whenever she sees a carer will tell us how wonderful they all are. The carers are calm, positive and so caring - I do admire their patience. I believe they are all sent on courses updating their skills whilst looking after dementia patience.
