View Full Details of Nightingale LodgeHaving lived here for over three years I feel very comfortable. The staff are always helpful and always willing to help me with my scooter.
This is my home and I am happy here. When I recently had to go to hospital, the staff were very supportive and they looked pleased when I returned. My visitors say how lovely it is here.
I have a lovely life and I like living here.
My husband has only been a resident for one month but I am very pleased with the care he receives.
My sister has been at Nightingale Lodge for the past 18 months or so and I have been impressed with the standard of conditions and care provided. She has been quite poorly at times and had to be hospitalized but was always relieved when she could be returned to the home with the caring staff to welcome her back. There is always a cheerful greeting from staff when I visit which I do fairly frequently and an update on my sister's condition. Unfortunately, she has been in bed for weeks and unable to enjoy the entertainment and activities in the lounge area but she is comfortable in her clean, tidy room, watching the television. Many thanks to all the staff at this lovely home.
Food is usually of poor quality and often overcooked and therefore inedible. Eyedrops should be administered 3 times daily. This doesn't always happen. More experienced staff is needed. Public areas ie:- the dining room and the visitor's lounge are tastefully decorated and always flowers in the entrance hall.
Excellent staff and care service.
A very caring home. All the staff I have found to be wonderful.
The home is very inviting and welcoming. I took my mother away for a few days break and the home sorted all her meds, helped her pack and made sure she had all she needed. We had a good time.
My husband is nicely cared for, treated well by a caring staff. Good choice of meals, given options daily. Entertainment is varied and activity organisers are employed. Comfortable surroundings. I am welcome to visit anytime and I join in the exercises to music or singing. If my husband wishes a while to himself then he has his comfortable room to be in but also encouraged to join in in the main lounge.
From the moment my mum moved into the care home, the staff were amazing. Everyone was warm and friendly both to her and to us as a family. We had to move her from a previous home as we were worried about her. It has been such a turbulent time as she passed away last week but every single member of staff showed her and us love and compassion. They were able to meet her needs despite the challenges presented by a dementia diagnosis. They did all they could for Mummy and the immediate family, offering us refreshments and emotional support throughout the last 48 hours. A friendly and warm care home.
Simply the best. The manager and her team at Nightingale Lodge give exemplary care and have looked after my mother exceptionally well over the past seven years. My mother has severe dementia and is immobile, needing turning two-hourly 24/7 which needs constant attention. They treat her with dignity and good humour and so well that she has kept physically healthy over a long period of incapacity.
I visit Nightingale Lodge to see a few of my friends. The staff are very friendly and always make me and my husband feel valued and welcomed. We are always offered a cup of tea or to stay for lunch. We often indulge in a cappuccino as the drinks trolley comes around. They throw wonderful parties and BBQs. A few times we have arrived at the home to see our friend and they have gone out for the day on trips or to the café down on Hunstanton High Street. Our friends are happy here and have recommended the home to me when I require support eventually. Thank you all for making me feel welcomed and well fed!
My mum stayed in Nightingale for a relatively short time, but we are so pleased she did. We moved her from another care home that we weren't happy with and the manager and her team at the Nightingale immediately showed Mum all the love and care as if she were their own flesh and blood. She had both cancer and dementia and despite having her challenging moments the staff made her feel happy and safe. They organised trips, gave Dad an opportunity to have Sunday lunches with Mum, just the two of them in the front room with glasses of sherry. Unfortunately Mum passed away very recently. Her stay was less than 3 months but we are so pleased she ended her time in a home where the staff treated her with so much love and care. When Mum was gravely ill, they did all they could not only for Mum but for the immediate family who were with her for the two days before she passed. The staff couldn't do enough for us, they are professional, experienced, happy and truly cared.
Visiting my friend, I found she had adapted well to her new 'home', was very pleased with the food provided and found, as I did, the staff were so helpful, kind and a pleasure to talk to. Every time I come away from a visit, I know my friend is in good hands.
I have visited my friend four times now and find her happy and relaxed. The carers are excellent, welcoming, friendly, caring and attentive to the residents. There are four rooms where people can sit, plus their own rooms and the garden. The decor is clean, bright and modern. There is entertainment most days with the occasional coach trip. I feel the manager runs a very happy home.
My wife entered Nightingale Lodge the night of Easter Sunday (31st March 2024) so there is only one week of experience to comment upon. My first impression is of a very caring establishment with hard-working and dedicated staff, led by an efficient and understanding manager. The atmosphere within is very good and whilst the individual rooms vary, the residents appear to be satisfied and my wife is happy in her small but pleasant room. The staff appear to be understanding of dementia and I am looking forward to getting to know them better in the months to come.
Our visit to the home left me feeling very happy knowing my brother was being well looked after within the home where he's happy and content. We were made very welcome, everywhere looked clean and tidy.
Celebration of six years at Nightingale Lodge - 2nd March 2018. Six years of life at Nightingale, In rain, snow, sunshine and hail, Brings much sunshine into my life, Carers do everything they possibly can, When I have a problem of any kind, A carer will encourage with her famous 'carry on regardless' To get me out of a mess, Nothing more, nothing less.
My aunt tells me she feels content, as well as cared for by all staff. I live one and a quarter hours away, so can only visit every fortnight. I appreciate seeing my aunt in her own room, mid-morning time, that is practical for all. The only easily sustained aspect of care I like to ensure happens is that residents always have access to drinking water in plastic cups, with a jug (if able to pour water out themselves). Great idea to host a summer gathering. Encourages, hopefully, residents, family and friends to see the homely atmosphere that staff manage to create. The songs from their era seemed genuinely appreciated. My aunt finds comfort from communication from the Reverend that visits. Afternoon tea preferable to BBQ. Thanks for Sunday lunch for my aunt's visitor.
