Our Mum is a new resident at Larkland, they have made Mum so welcome especially with all of her issues, my Family have been as well looked after and explained everything to us. They have catered for all of her needs. When ever we visit Mum all of the staff are very friendly and engaging, This has given our family relief and peace of mind.
Kind, caring and compassionate team at Larklands, the support they have given our Mum since she was admitted just before Christmas 2024 has been great, lots of smiles from the team and always willing to go the extra mile for everyone.
The staff are amazing, They really look after the patients in their care The building is kept very clean, Plus the food is tasty and plentiful and if the patient does not like the what is on the menu. Then the kitchen make up something which the patient has requested. Every body aims to please the patient what ever there need.
Thank you for the amazing care you have provided for our mum. Although it's been a very sad and emotional time for us as a family, you have been amazing from the day she was admitted to the home, to the very sad end. Not only did you take great care of Mum, but you also looked after all of us as a family which is gratefully appreciated. Thank you.
When I went to view Larkland House, I was told by a staff member that they were understaffed. The medication was never on time, I had to chase multiple times a day. The alarm cord was disconnected, after it was connected while I was there. The room never seemed to get cleaned. Staff never regularly checked on my relative. If emergency button was pressed, it could take over 5 minutes for a response. My relative passed and I was told I could take my time with them, I was later called into the hall and told I needed to arrange the funeral directors to come and collect my relative. When they were taking my relative away, I was being stared at by another visitor from their room. Disrespectful! The caregivers are very friendly, but unable to carry out their duties effectively as they are all understaffed. I would not recommend this facility.
My husband was made very welcome in the Larklands family and settled well into two weeks of respite care. All the staff were friendly and caring and went the extra mile to make his stay a pleasant and happy one.
I moved my mother to Larkland in July 2023 and it was the best thing for her after very poor care in her previous home. I found the staff to be nothing short of superb with a very friendly happy go happy-go-lucky attitude and I have seen nothing but respect and love for all the residents including my mother. Sadly, my mother just passed away, but I would recommend this home to anybody.
My mother has been supported to go from bed-bound and socially isolated to joining her neighbours in the communal Lounge/Dining room for lunch and activities, which she has appeared to enjoy. Carers are kind, attentive and knowledgeable. They have developed an understanding of my mother's preferences, discomforts and behaviours during the short time she has been with them. I have seen my mother become much more alert and recover her interest in her immediate surroundings. I have been delighted to witness a return of some of her cognitive skills that I thought had been irretrievably lost due to her condition. She is also gaining a little of the weight she had lost in recent times. I believe that the quality of care, attention and humanity that my mother is receiving from the care staff at Larkland House is making this progress from a dramatic decline possible.
In almost all respects, Larkland House is excellent. The care team is superb! I have rated the rooms as good (rather than excellent) because the exterior windows are in a poor condition with several broken window catches. The food is good and the facilities likewise. Overall, strongly recommended.
My husband has been a resident at Lackland for over a year and couldn't be receiving better care. They always have time for me as well.
We as a family have looked at several care homes in the area. We like Larklands because it is homely, friendly and above all very caring to those with dementia.
Grandad moved to the care home back in December 2023, at first we had apprehension as he had lived well at home. He settled in almost straightaway putting our minds at rest. A big shout out to every staff member at the home as they go above and beyond daily.
Fantastic care home, the staff really care about their residents and my mother looks and reacts better every day. They have even managed to heal her ulcers which she has had for over 10 years. Thank you.
My father was cared for at Larkland House following a diagnosis of terminal cancer. I was so grateful to all the staff we met who really cared for him, made him comfortable and took time to get to know him. I was impressed by the level of expertise and care, with very thorough systems in place to ensure 24-hour care and a good range of facilities (including nice food and a lifestyle coordinator). It is a very comfortable home and I would think about staying there myself when the time comes!
I must say the level of care my mother receives is second to none, the team always bend over backwards to see my mother's needs are met. The home is spotless the whole housekeeping team work so hard to make sure everything is in order. The activity team have a relationship with all the residents they create a family community. What I’ve seen of the food is excellent, and the catering brigade is led by an excellent head chef.
My mum has been living in this care home for sometime, care is amazing the staff are really amazing how they care for Mum as she does have complex care needs. Me and my family are rest assured that Mum is being looked after and safe.
My stay at Larkland was a very enjoyable experience in many ways. The food was of a very high standard both in variety and quality. I ate in the dining room and in bed. The staff looked after me with skill, intelligence and, above all, care.
If you're looking for a top-quality care home, then look no further. This home offers a nice bedroom, with a wet room, to the most delicious food throughout the day. Many occasions we would have a meal or a snack when visiting our aunty. There are so many more staff that do an outstanding job. Every visit, my aunt would be involved in some sort of activity or event, always with a smile on her face.
My husband has been living at Larkland’s House since the summer. I couldn’t ask for better care for my husband. Everyone is wonderful, from housekeepers, carers and managers. He can be awkward at times, but they are so patient with him.
My friend has been living at the home for a while, I feel and so does her husband that she is receiving the best possible care. Staff are friendly, kind, as well as caring. Management team are approachable. Food is great.
