View Full Details of Churchill House Care HomeWe are very happy with the care our father is receiving, the staff are all very professional and caring, the food is very good, with a varied tasty home cooked menu.
My father has just had 2 weeks of excellent care at Churchill House Care Home, went in for respite, was well looked after. Lovely clean room, food was enjoyed and he eat very well, lots of activities to keep residents stimulated. Couldn't fault anything.
Throughout my father's stay at Churchill House Care Home, he has been treated with warmth, friendship, respect and consideration. The staff are outstanding both in the support of my father and communications with the family. My father would be described as a character with his own peculiar needs. The staff did their very best to accommodate his needs and treat him as an individual. His final days were spent being treated with dignity and sensitivity. We could not have asked for better care and would recommend this care home to anyone.
My husband became a resident in January 2024. He has recently passed away and I can honestly say the care has been first class. All of the staff have been, kind, friendly and often going above and beyond their duty to help. My family and I have called in at various times on different days. The home has always be clean and well cared for. We were certainly all treated as part of the Churchill family. Loved the gardens as well. My husband passed away peacefully in a clean comfortable bed. Never alone. We thank every single member of staff, whatever their duty, for the care they showed us all.
My husband was here for two weeks of respite and all seemed well. The staff were very friendly and it seemed clean. It was very expensive at £1700 per week. When I picked him up he smelt of sweat and dirty clothes. I packed carefully, labelling everything but hardly any of it came back. New tee shirts, new socks and trousers, almost nothing returned. I was shocked. I had to have the window open in the car on the way home, he smelt so awful. At first, I thought I'd put him back for more respite but I'd rather he was in the garage than in this place.
Found the staff and management very supportive and caring to my mother in the final days of her life.
My brother came to Churchill House in May 2023 and was immediately made welcome. Unfortunately he had Myeloma and Parkinsons, so his health gradually deteriorated, but all times he was well supported and cared for. They were very thorough in ensuring that his health issues were monitored and helped facilitate trips to hospital for treatment. All the staff showed great kindness and empathy towards my brother. Senior Nurse, always lightened his mood with her cheery humour and was of great comfort during his final days. Also we were always greeted in a friendly manner by all the staff and made to feel welcome whenever we called. We were also kept up to date with his health issues and how he was feeling. Whilst no one wants to end up in a care home, I would be happy to go to Churchill House if I needed to in the future. I would like to thank all the staff at Churchill House for the excellent care they provided to my brother.
Our Mum went to Churchill House for palliative care, where she could receive a consistent level of care in a friendly welcoming environment. Churchill House delivered this care to an excellent level, she couldn't have wished for more given her condition. A very friendly team, and nothing was too much trouble.
Mum's end-of-life care was amazing. Everyone was so kind and helpful.
My husband was treated with care and support throughout his 5-week stay. A member of staff, in particular, was very kind and supportive to me and my husband and explained everything to me. He died with dignity, very clean and peaceful. Admin staff and care workers were all very kind. Special thanks to the manager. Thank you so much.
I was very happy to see my grandma happier in Churchill house than at home - A certain member of staff and all the staff are so kind and friendly. The gardens are beautiful and all the activities that my grandma can join in on will keep her entertained!
My mother has been a resident for nearly a year and from the moment she arrived, she was greeted with warmth and kindness. The team immediately addressed her medical needs and went above and beyond to get her the right treatment. The change in her has been remarkable - Mum feels so at home here and there is a lovely family atmosphere. She takes part in all the activities and has been given the role of guinea pig supervisor which she is very proud of. The building and Mum's room are always very well cared for and clean and tidy. I have nothing but praise for the staff who treat Mum with such respect and patience. They have all gone above and beyond to help her settle and have also welcomed me into the Churchill family! We feel very lucky that we found Churchill House.
My mum had lived in Churchill house for over 5 years. She passed away there last Friday. Her care throughout her time there was exceptional all the nursing and ancillary staff were compassionate, friendly, caring and professional. My brother and I both worked as health care professionals (over 80 years between us) and he now commissions care services, we were both impressed by the excellence of the care she received in Churchill House and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Residents have multiple activities to take part in over the week and these activities do actually take place. Sadly in the last two years, Mum was bedbound but there was no restriction on when I or my brother could visit which meant a lot as we could just pop in to see her. The facilities internally and externally are very well cared for and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I am not sure that I can put easily into words how well cared for my mum was other than to say outstanding and thank you.
My friend is a resident at Churchill House, I visit her every week. I must say that I enjoy spending time there. The atmosphere is always so welcoming, the lounge has lovely guinea pigs that we love watching and I can see that one lady in particular takes good care of them! We sometimes sit in the garden which is a pleasant place to be, we laugh at the maintenance man who is always friendly. Based upon my experience as a visitor and what my friend has told me, I would recommend Churchill House.
My Mother has been resident here for nearly a year and we as a family are so grateful for the care and kindness Mum has received. Mum feels very at home here and there is a lovely family atmosphere whenever we visit. All the staff are kind, patient and caring and are a good team. The daily timetable of well-thought-out activities and events is great and the organisers go over and above to meet individual needs. The nursing staff and carers are wonderful and it feels like they genuinely care. The building and Mum's room are kept clean and the garden area is beautiful. This is a very well-managed care home and I would definitely recommend it.
Due to very poor health, my mother was unable to continue living at home and reluctantly went to Churchill, when she arrived she could not walk. Within a few weeks, she was able to walk with a frame without help, this was only due to the amazing care and attention she was given. She now takes part in various activities such as flower arranging and different crafts the sort of thing she would never of done before. We have nothing but praise for the staff who have endless patience with the residents under difficult circumstances at times, but always happy to have a bit of banter and share a joke. Overall I would thoroughly recommend Churchill as a very caring and welcoming home to be.
The care home has great facilities and is clean and tidy. Food is good and there are lots of activities for the residents. The staff really make it special. They are friendly, caring and helpful. They pop into Mum's room as they go about their duties to say hello which she likes.
Churchill House provided outstanding care to my mum in her final months. Caring staff looked after her and went the extra mile to make her as content as she could be in the circumstances. Her room was kept clean, as indeed were the rest of the facilities. When Mum was more mobile the programmes of entertainment and creativity were really enjoyed by Mum and delivered with care and love. In my experience a truly exceptional group of people in a lovely facility.
My mum was in the dementia wing of Churchill House and the staff were so kind and good with her. Her room was always clean and tidy when I visited, her hair was brushed and clean. The garden was always a favorite place to walk around with her and she liked the guinea pigs and chickens. We felt very lucky that she had such good care for her last years of life.
My dad received the utmost care and dignity in the last seven days after returning to Churchill House for palliative care after leaving the hospital. He had lived there for over eighteen months and had built some lovely relationships with the staff in his time there. I believe all at Churchill House do a wonderful job of caring and nursing.
