View Full Details of OaklandsMy stepfather was well cared for during his 2 week respite stay. The manager managed her team of staff well, and was friendly and professional. The staff were attentive, kind, and caring towards my stepfather, and he felt safe at Oaklands. All our requests were helpfully responded to. My stepfather enjoyed his meals the staff provided and said that they regularly spoke to him and asked if there was anything he needed. There was no limit to family visiting.
My father passed away in your care on January 12th, and while this was not wholly unexpected, it was obviously still a shock. From the first call, at 06:30 to the last at 19:00, we received great care. He was cared for with great dignity; we were able to get to see him and really could not have asked for more. He first went into the home in 2016 after our mother passed away and has slowly deteriorated due to his Dementia but throughout, despite all the changes and the pandemic, the care has been superb - a big thank you to all the staff, without you all I think we would have had a much tougher time in his final year's. Thank you.
Absolutely dreadful place from start to finish. Too much to write but end of life care was disgusting. We asked to be notified at any time of day or night so we could be with our mother/grandmother. Apparently, her life was ending at 3 AM she passed at 5 AM and they called us at 9.41 AM! Do not place your loved ones in their care. They should be ashamed of themselves.
My wife was admitted to Oaklands Care Home, Waterlooville, Hants on the 18th of October 2022 for respite care. Care manager and staff give good service and care to all their patients. Oaklands is a very pleasant, comfortable, clean and tidy place. They make patients feel welcome and show very good care to their residents.
I was designated as an emergency care practitioner but this has never come about. Why when visiting my wife it can't be done in her room instead of being cordoned off in a corner of the lounge, I think restrictions are a little over the top. My wife has now been a resident for 15 months and in that time has been well cared for by a great bunch of carers. General cleanliness in the home is excellent.
MY dad first came to Oaklands for respite care in February and now permanent, he has settled well. He was confused and upset at first, but is very happy and likes being in the home now. I would say at the moment he's the best I have seen him for a long time. His health seems good he's lost a bit of weight which is good and he's happy. He is well cared for by staff they are always friendly and helpful and likes to joke around with Dad. The home is pleasant and clean. Staff encourage Dad to come out of his room which is good.
My mother stayed here for a few weeks for respite care. I was impressed with the welcoming attitude of the manager and team, and ongoing communication was very good. My mother was comfortable, and well looked after, so thank you.
The staff and management went that extra mile to ensure everything needed was supplied and nothing seemed too much trouble.
While mum was at Oaklands, we as a family felt she was always safe, happy and well cared for. All of the carers and support staff gave exceptional care and consideration to all of her needs. They also were very friendly and obliging to us. Full credit to them. Although all of the managers have been fully supportive and engaging, have found it a little unsettling to have as many changes to home manager in such a short time.
Dad went to Oaklands and was there for almost six months. The staff was very kind and helpful. He was a real character and got on with everyone. He did not know where he was most of the time but the staff helped him understand. all the time Dad was there, he seemed happy enough, apart from his dementia. Thank you to all at Oaklands.
As I live abroad I telephone frequently. The staff are very kind and give me the latest news on mum. Recently she celebrated her birthday, a good spread, birthday cake and outside entertainment was provided. My mum and other residents enjoyed the party although mums health has deteriorated the staff are attentive and caring.
The care staff understand my mum very well, are both sympathetic and responsive to her support needs, treating her with dignity and care at all times. Oaklands home itself is always bright and clean, the food is of an excellent standard and my mum has been very happy in the 3 years she has been here. Communication is also very good indeed and the staff ring me personally if there is anything they think I need to know. Their overall service standard is excellent. I have no complaints.
Dad has been at Oaklands for nearly three years now. The care he has received is of a good standard and delivered by the most amazing group of carers he could possibly wish for. In his words the girls are lovely and they look after me very well, I couldn't ask for any better. Keep up the excellent work for the lovely group of residents.
My dad settled very quickly into Oaklands and I believe this was down to the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. He enjoys the meals and the dining room and lounge are of a nice size, not cramped and not too big that it is like a hospital. The fact that it is a converted house is a positive as it is more like home for the residents.
Happy for the care provided for my wife. The home is clean, efficient and caring to all residents. They are helpful and cordial to family, friends etc.
Oaklands is kept clean and tidy with ongoing maintenance. Always seeking to improve facilities. Care and food is always of a good standard. Staff are friendly and helpful, always keen to please. They have to deal with difficult situations and show great patience.
My mum was in Oaklands for almost a year when she passed away in July 2017. In that time, she was looked after extremely well with understanding by friendly and dedicated staff. The food was excellent.
Wonderful homely place, very friendly. The staff go above board in making the residents happy and content. Food is delicious and nutritious. Lots of entertainment, beautiful well kept garden. Stands out from other care homes and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place for a relative.
I have had previous experience of care homes and I would rate this one very highly indeed. They are a very caring environment and interact really well with the residents. There is always a good staff presence and they are always interacting with the residents. The home is welcoming, clean and a good place to visit. My dad's face lights up when staff come to him which for me is a wonderful testament to how happy he is there.
The care and attention that is given to my brother is marvellous. He is treated exactly how I would expect him to be if he were still home with me. We recently had the pleasure of attending the home annual hog roast. 10/10 to the management and carers for putting on such a lovely event.
