View Full Details of April Park Care HomeMy mum has been a resident for 6 weeks. I have found the home to be a welcoming and friendly environment and the staff to be kind compassionate and supportive throughout this period which can be a difficult and challenging time for an elderly person.
My mum has just finished 6 weeks of respite at April Park and it's been lovely. From the home Manager, Deputy Manager and all the carers have been amazing and very caring. My mum loved it and was upset to leave. An absolute lovely place
We feel that Dad's needs are met and that all the staff are very professional, with a very caring and understanding nature. The staff are thorough with his personal hygiene and well being. We are confident that if there are any issues these are addressed as soon as possible when needed. Thanking all staff and management.
My wife and I cannot praise or recommend April Park Care Home highly enough for the kind, considerate and professional way all the staff cared for my mum for the eight months she was there before passing away from vascular dementia recently. It was a huge 'peace of mind' for us in her most difficult times. We were also treated with friendliness and understanding and nothing was too much trouble for them every time we visited Mum. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Thank you all so much.
I cannot praise the staff of April Park enough as they are a credit to the care home. They are all friendly and treat the residents with respect and dignity. The communication throughout has been excellent. My mum has always felt safe and secure throughout her stay. I would not hesitate to recommend April Park and should Mum need residential care in the future this will be our first choice. Keep up the excellent work.
Like many others, I was very happy with the care and attention that my late cousin received at April Park. He was a resident for a handful of months at a very tiring and trying part of his life, as such I realize that this had made him particularly awkward to all at times. However, the care and understanding that the managers and their team provided were superb and he commented how content and happy he was (to give comments like this, he would have been very impressed, and he was a difficult man to impress!). April Park's communication with me was excellent and I was pleased to receive updates (regardless of the time of day) as to when he had to go to hospital, so I knew exactly his condition. A final 'thank you' to everyone at April Park for the attention and friendship that you give to everyone and your very human approach to those under very trying circumstances, residents and family alike. You're fantastic, well done!
Lovely care home. Very friendly staff. Mum seems to be very settled. Great for information on what's happening each day. Mum loves the food. We feel more settled knowing she is being cared for in a lovely home.
My mother is as happy as can be expected as there's a lot she can't do because of her immobility and declining eyesight. She says the food is good and gets on very well with the carers who are friendly and chatty. Her room is always clean and tidy. The care and support is good.
This is the second month that my father has been a guest at April Park and I have nothing but praise for all the staff at the home. Dad has always said that he would never go into a home but right from the beginning of his stay he has been delighted with the accommodation, food and staff and says that he now does not want to leave. Thanks to all for such a wonderful experience he is having.
I would just like to say a thank you to the manager and the staff at April Park, Eckington. My mum was in April Park for a week in April for respite care. Although mentally mum is ok she does have mobility issues, she is 93 and very frail. As I was going away for a week and could not leave mum by herself, April Park was a godsend. I was able to go away without worrying. Thank you once again to everyone.
My mum was a resident at April Park for many years. Like many residents, Mum had various illnesses and medical episodes during her stay. In the early days, Mum was assessed several times by social care, experts and this proved to be a horrendous period for both Mum and the rest of the family. At this time, staff at April Park stood up for Mum and the family to help gain the best care plan for her, they did this without any drama, just lots of love and care for her. During her stay, she like many had to deal with the ups and downs of the pandemic. Again, the staff stepped up, provided for Mum (as they did for all the residents) and showed genuine love for her all the way through, as if this was their own mum. The staff provided so much love and care for Mum, words could not say the degree of gratitude we have for them. Sadly Mum passed away in late February, the last few days and until Mum passed, the staff continued in the same way. Mum is now at peace.
My mum has been a resident at April Park since before Christmas 2021, but has settled in well and is quite happy with her new surroundings, she loves all the staff who are kind, helpful and friendly. The manager goes above and beyond to make sure residents and family members are happy and put at ease.
I’ve written excellent reviews previously about April Park Care Home relating to the care of my mum. However this review is particularly sad to write. My mum lived at April Park in excess of 3.5 years and throughout that time received remarkable care, however unfortunately my mum passed away on 27 February. April Park supported my stay at the home and help provide care for my mum in her last days and they looked after me as much as my mum, it was like being with family, they clearly felt our sadness and pain. The compassion, care and dignity they provided at such a difficult time was second to none. The team are led by a fantastic manager who is professional yet so caring. We have always found the current manager approachable and accommodating and she leads a fabulous team of wonderful genuinely caring people. The home is clean and the resident's comfort and well-being is always their main objective. Words will never be able to express how we feel about April Park and the staff.
Very welcoming, always very clean and tidy. Very well looked after, nice and homely.
I have been here for almost 1 year and I love this care home very much. The management staff and all the people who take care of me are so very good. I have a few things like coeliac disease so I am on a medical diet and so my food has to be gluten-free. I also have osteoporosis. The nurses are very caring to me. If I have any problems I go to the manager and she sorts things out for me.
Clean and tidy. The food was of good quality but they found it difficult to keep it warm. Nothing was too much trouble. If I have to go into a care home again, my first choice would be April Park. Well done.
My father was a resident of April Park Care Home for about 3 years until his passing in January 2021 at the hospital at the age of 101 years. The home itself is welcoming with bright and clean furnishings which are excellently maintained. The staff there were all amazing and so helpful and kind. They were all so friendly and made me feel they were all doing their best to make him happy and at the same time safely looking after him. The past year has been extremely difficult for all of us especially not being able to visit my father. My only contact being to drop him supplies and letters at the home and the staff reporting to us about his welfare. I felt confident that they were doing an excellent job in extremely difficult times. I want to take this opportunity on national thank you day July 4 2021 to say a massive thank you to all at April Park.
Always doing activities with residents, always keep up to date. It's better now the new manager has come in. The only thing the previous manager did which my nan liked was nip in on the residents, but I have seen a massive change for the better.
My grandpa is very happy here and gets good care. The staff are warm and friendly and take good care of him. He has been here for over a year and there have been no issues. Visiting has been difficult due to covid but visits have started and they have been managed well and safely.
Since my mother has been a resident of April park she has been treated as I would wish, she has been looked after so well that she feels totally at home and has settled in within a matter of days. The staff and carers are most helpful and they are looking after her health and welfare. Top marks to all concerned.
