View Full Details of Haddon HouseMy husband has been a resident in Haddon House for the last 8 months. The care he has received has been second to none, the staff go over and above to ensure that residents are cared for in a safe, friendly, and caring environment. The activity team work extremely hard to provide residents with activities/experiences tailored to their individual needs/ personalities. Nothing is too much trouble and relatives are made to feel welcome and included. Unfortunately my husband had a recent fall resulting in him being admitted to hospital for surgery. The staff dealt with the situation in a professional manner and on his return to Haddon House kept me fully informed regarding any changes to his treatment and care plan, of other healthcare professional's involvement, and his day to day progress with regards to his mobility and general well being. I would have no hesitation in recommending Haddon House as a specialist home caring for people with dementia.
My dad has been at Haddon House for 5 months, at first it took me some time to accept that we could not care for him. I never wanted him to go into a nursing home but it became too much for us. All the staff treat my dad like I would treat him which gives me comfort, that he’s cared for and happy. The staff are all amazing, they work so hard to make sure all the residents are looked after, the play staff keep them positive. The only negative feedback is they could do with more patient toilets.
My grandad moved here from another home in October after some bad experiences. The difference in the two homes is incredible. All the staff are friendly and treat the residents with respect and dignity. Residents are allowed to wander/crawl/move around their unit as they want. It's very secure, so no chance of them escaping! They're encouraged to feed themselves/give themselves a drink if possible (spillages can easily be cleaned). They're also not prevented from using the toilet like I've seen elsewhere. The activities coordinators are amazing - making an effort with every single resident and tailoring activities as much as they can. The home is clean and residents are well looked after. Sadly my grandad wasn't there long, but the staff were brilliant with him and us whilst he was on end of life, making a real effort to keep him comfortable. Despite only having a month's experience with this home, I'd recommend Haddon House without hesitation.
This care home goes above and beyond for the residents. The staff are nothing but welcoming and caring every time I have visited my grandad. He always has a smile on his face and feels safe and comfortable. It’s amazing how many activities they do and always puts a smile on our faces to hear about the activities my grandad has been up to over the week. The most incredible and unforgettable moment has to be the care home enabling my grandad to come to my brother's wedding. The staff were absolutely fabulous. A memory that will be cherished forever and as a family we will always be great full. Couldn’t recommend a better care home!
My mum has been a resident at Haddon House for just over a month now, and the change in her is dramatic. Before she was unable to walk, feed herself and could barely put a sentence together. Mum now can walk unaided, is eating and drinking herself, and I can have a conversation with her. I know this is due to the wonderful care and attention she has received from the team at Haddon House. All the staff work so hard to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents. The wonderful activities that engage the residents are individual and so enjoyable by all. Although I know my mum will not get better, I now know she will always be cared for, and I finally have found peace. So thank you to everyone for making it happen.
My mum's husband was placed here about 12 months ago when the place he was living at were unable to cope with his behaviour. Since moving here he seems to have settled down and appears to enjoy living there. Always seem to have activities on the go for people to join in with and get singers and outside entertainers in which is great. My only little niggle is that sometimes my mum isn't offered a drink. I know it's possibly something you have to offer, however, she has a long journey each way to go and visit, and sometimes when she comes to mine straight from there she's sometimes not had a drink for several hours. She doesn't like to make a fuss so would never ask. I sometimes wish there were enough staff on when she visits on a Saturday so she can take him to lunch at the nearby pub, as I think it's nice for people to go out and have a change of scenery. All in all, pleased with how things are done.
My husband has been at Haddon House since March last year and I can honestly say the care he receives is second to none. He is so settled and happy. All the staff do an amazing job, nothing is too much trouble for them and there is always some kind of activity going on, which he joins in. He loves the singing and dancing.
Haddon House is the most fantastic place! My Dad went into Haddon at the height of Covid and they were amazing. We had constant video calls and updates and they set up a pod for us to do face to face visits through patio doors. Once the lockdowns stopped and we were able to visit in person we were able to see how clean the home is and what a lovely job they had done to try and make his room familiar, adding pictures of things he liked as we hadn't been able to go in. The staff are so caring and friendly, nothing seems to be too much trouble. The activities team are wonderful and constantly having things going on to entertain the residents, also having activities to involve families such as seaside day and Christmas Carol singing. My Dad loves it there and has such a good relationship with the staff which is lovely as we cannot be there all of the time.
My husband has been in Haddon House for a long time now and he is very happy there. Whenever I go and visit I am made to feel like I belong to their big family. It's the best I could have done for him, as there are always lots of different activities to keep them all happy. They're the best.
My father is a service user at Haddon House and has been for a few years now. His health and wellbeing has improved dramatically since moving here and he appears very happy and content in the surroundings. All the staff have a good rapport with the service users and go above and beyond to ensure they have fulfilment in their day to day lives. Activities are planned and carried out on a regular basis giving everyone something to enjoy and look forward to, such as; live singers, parties, shows, crafts and games. Ensuring family visits are also a priority and you are made to feel very welcome whenever you visit. Haddon House, for my father, has been the best place for him. They give him the quality of life that he should have and I am extremely happy with the care attention and dignity given to all aspects of his wellbeing.
After a very difficult year struggling to care for and come to terms with Dad's progressing challenging behaviour due to his Alzheimers/Vascular dementia, we were relieved when he was offered a place at Haddon House. Although anxious that he was having to go into care. He has been in Haddon for a few months now and while it has taken him some time to settle we are 'over the moon' with the care he is receiving. The staff are warm, compassionate, professional, hardworking and caring. The manager is an absolutely lovely lady and it is obvious that her ethos regarding the high standard of care in the 'home' is shared by all the staff and expected. We can now breathe a sigh of relief that Dad is being cared for in the manner he deserves. Thank you.
My husband has now been in Haddon House for over two years and I am so impressed with how hard all the staff work. Nothing seems too much trouble for them and they are amazing with all the residents. The activities and entertainment are wonderful there is always something going on so many different themes the entertainment team work very hard. When you enter the Home it is always clean and fresh. I thank the whole team for all they do and wish everyone all the best for 2023.
I can't believe the difference the home has made to my mum. The staff are great, professional but friendly. They do so many activities and include Mum even though she can't really participate much. I believe they even take residents over the road for a drink. During the summer they create a beach with real sand. The staff are always pleasant and are very good at getting medication into Mum.
It's difficult to believe we are still in a pandemic after a long 2 years, the staff here are still striving for normality, working tirelessly to keep everyone safe, happy and living their best life. On a recent visit, I was so impressed on the safety measures in place, the home was spotless, my mum looked lovely, and was happy and smiley. I receive regular updates on Mum of which I really appreciate. The activities and entertainment is above and beyond, the preparation and planning is amazing. I can see from recent photos the staff have once again excelled in their production of Snow White, and the recent carol concert, all to ensure that "Covid " will not rob our loved ones of the festivities and a level of normality at the toughest of times. Business as usual whilst dealing with day to day guidelines, You have one heck of a team here. Team Haddon House are one to be proud of. A massive thank you and Merry Christmas.
My mum joined Haddon House in an urgent move in July last year. Due to the pandemic I haven't yet stepped foot inside the home or mums room or spent any more than the 15 minutes pod visit, hence why I can't mark fully across the board as I haven't been in to see or experience this first hand. The transition getting Mum into the home, I was very impressed with the help and support in transferring Mum during what was a very distressing time. When we have been visiting Mum she is always clean, well presented and can tell she is well taken care of. Her behaviour has reduced tenfold and she is now calm and content, happy and smiling all time time. The constant interaction and activity programme has also assisted in the transformation of Mum's well being and happiness. Because of these she is more observant and engaged with the world around her and tolerant. She is responding with appropriate actions and words where previously these had all escaped her. These are reassuring signs.
You should know what fabulous staff you have at Haddon House in Clowne. They have been taking excellent care of my mum who has been a resident for a number of years now. The care staff are attentive to all patient needs My mum has been bedridden for over four years, they make sure she is treated with the utmost dignity. I couldn't have got through the past year of the pandemic without the support of the events co-ordinator, who I now call a friend. She has kept me, my dad and sister in contact with Mum using FaceTime, photos of Mum and messages. Mum and dad had their 60th wedding anniversary in February 2021, the events co-ordinator went above and beyond to make the day extra special. She is such a special member of Haddon House and deserves recognition for her tireless efforts and attention to detail. I love seeing all the different events the events co-ordinator and her team do to entertain all the residents, a different outfit for every event! By the way, Easter bunny was my favourite! The events co-ordinator and the staff are amazing - thank you.
My nan is very happy and well cared for at Haddon House, all the staff are absolutely brilliant with the residents. Excellent regular entertainment and activities for the residents as well, and it's always nice and clean inside the lounge and the bedrooms.
They interacted with each resident, they always keep them occupied. The fun activities, different things most days. My dad seems very happy and content there. The staff do an amazing job keeping them happy and entertained. I would highly recommend Haddon House. He is very well looked after and his everyday needs are catered for. It is very secure.
Haddon House goes beyond and more for my mum and all their patients. The staff cannot do enough for all involved, come residents and families. I cannot thank all involved for the excellent care they provide for my mum their skill and patience is second to none. The activities are second to none, always keeping the residents entertained every day, they are brilliant. My mum is safe and their covid policy has been excellent can't thank them all enough. Everyone at Haddon deserve a medal, I would definitely recommend this care home to all, and I always praise their excellent care. Thank you Haddon House.
My mum came to Haddon House after a long journey of disappointments, where care homes were unable to deal with the behaviours Mum had developed as a result of her Alzheimer's. The transition to yet another home was done with care and consideration to both of us. Mum has been at Haddon House for nearly 3 yrs now, she is settled and so am I. So often the anxieties of family members are dismissed, not in this case, they put me at ease and assured me Mum would not be asked to leave this home. All the staff show a good understanding of dementia and how to allow residents to live their best life. The staff have been amazing with Mum, sometimes in challenging circumstances. The manager shows so much empathy towards the residents and their family members. I would like to thank them all for all they have done and continue to do for Mum.
