Best Home
I visited over 10 homes for my mum to go in and this one is the only one I would put my mum into . The staff make this home.
My father in law was admitted here in November 2024 for end of life care and expected death within a week. With the care and attention of staff, he became more stable and passed away in March 2025. He felt like he was in a hotel. The staff were always busy, but despite this they always went over and above. Since he needed a halal diet, the cook made special effort for cooking the food. All the staff from the senior nurses, carers, cleaners, cook, assistants were absolutely brilliant. Social and emotional needs were dealt with to support my father in law when his son died. There was religious ministerial back up, the podiatrists and hair dressers would visit regularly. The carers dealt with his religious needs right to the final moments. He was always washed, dressed and well cared for. Most of all we had peace of mind in trusting that our relative was very well looked after.
My dad spend the last 4 months of his life receiving end of life care. He received excellent standard of care and was always promptly attended to. Staff were exceptionally friendly and professional are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure his care needs were well met. Halal meals were provided and feedback was always taken into consideration. Anticipatory medicine was always given promptly so my dad did not experience any pain or different. The quality of care is unmatched and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a safe and nurturing place for their loved ones.
My mother moved into Linson Court when she was unable to return home following a hospital stay. Sadly she died after only 4 weeks with them, but I am truly grateful for the patience, kindness and compassion shown by all of the staff looking after her. Her room was clean and comfortable and we were able to make it as close to her home environment as possible. She enjoyed the food, when she was able to eat (she was extremely picky!), and always commented on the 'home madeness" of it). The Registered Manager is easily accessible and open to feedback, and she maintains high standards throughout. I have no hesitation recommending Linson Court to anyone looking for a safe, caring and responsive environment for their loved one.
My mum has been a resident at Linson Court since 2020. I have found staff members to be caring, thoughtful, and often willing to go above and beyond for residents, despite their busy schedules. During recent episodes of ill health, staff have been responsive to Mum's needs and wishes, and coordinated with other health professionals such as the dietician and GP. Mum has particularly enjoyed the garden area and has been supported in actively participating in growing flowers and other plants. Mum has also loved activities such as keep-fit sessions and community visits. Food has been an issue, as Mum needs a high-calorie diet and assistance with eating. Staff helps her to eat, and she is able to have a fridge in her room with additional snacks and her favourite foods. When I have had concerns, the manager has been very quick to respond and set my mind at rest. Other staff members, such as the nurse team, are always very knowledgeable about Mum's needs and health issues.
My dad is presently a resident in the nursing area of Linson Court. He is a wonderful man but has recently turned into a difficult customer with complex needs including Alzheimer's and vascular dementia, cancer and a stroke. The staff are kindness itself. Whilst we are heartbroken by the situation he is in we are always comforted by the fact he is very well looked after, pain-free and safe. Thank you for your continued support at this awful time. You will never know how much we appreciate all you are doing for him and our family. Just - thank you.
Our case has been quite a complex case with a lot of emotional and personal issues that do not have anything to do with the home. I can only say that the home and staff have been wonderful. All the staff are lovely and approachable and the management have been excellent with their care, compassion and kindness. My relative is happy and settled and looked after to the best degree. I can't comment on every aspect as we are very new to the care setting but I'm absolutely satisfied with the care I've seen. I am unsure about the food/menus and facilities other than what I've seen, so I have marked these as 4 stars.
When my grandmother first came to Linson court her weight had deteriorated since being in hospital. Through the patience and encouragement of the staff at Linson Court her weight steadily increased until she was at a healthy weight again. The staff were approachable and welcoming and forthcoming with any information we needed regarding my grandmother. Although activities weren't something that my grandmother participated in they were offered on a daily basis and a list of activities was in her room for the upcoming month. The home itself is clean and presented well and has an outside communal garden. When she got ill the nurses were quick to react and inform us of the situation. My grandmother enjoyed her time at Linson so much so that when she was in hospital for the last time her one wish was to return back to Linson as that was her happy place and remained that way until her passing on boxing day.
Some staff are better than others, and although on the whole pleasant, they are sometimes unsure of what is required for the care of an individual. The room has not been vacuumed in over 2 weeks and the toilet is regularly dirty. General surfaces in the room and communal areas are dirty. Carpets throughout are dirty and sticky in some areas. I asked admin staff if they would arrange to clean his room, but this has not been done 3 days later. Outer doors are locked and require a code to exit. I am concerned that in an emergency it would pose a threat to safety. Food has been described as poor. The resident was not asked if they wanted to engage in activities.
My mother moved into this care home in late April/early May of this year. She stayed in her room choosing to take her meals in her room. She developed a sore throat/chest infection and although I visited her each day I had to work in Wales from Friday to Sunday. I spoke to her on Friday and I could tell something was wrong she was not herself. I phoned the care home and spoke to the nurse who assured me she was alright. No one answered the phone on the Saturday or the Sunday and it seemed when there was no one in the office the phone went unanswered. I left several answerphone messages but none were returned. I then received a call from a member of staff to say my mother was very ill on the Sunday and that an ambulance had been called. I then received a phone call from the hospital telling me my mother was gravely ill with covid and asking me to go immediately to the hospital which I did. She died a week later.
Linson Court is a lovely care home, my mum has settled in well since she moved in there and all the staff are friendly and care for all the residents extremely well. The staff do a lot for the residents and are all lovely people, always made welcome and my mum loves it here.
My mother-in-law came to Linson Court in April last year. When we initially viewed Linson Court we were impressed with the welcoming environment and how friendly the staff were. My mother-in-law quickly settled in and received care that I would describe as exemplary. The staff were visible and approachable and knew her well, volunteering information as to how she was doing without being asked. Sadly she reached the end of her life but was incredibly well looked after (as were we), with the registered nurses proactively involving the GP to ensure she was comfortable. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Linson Court is excellent in every way and is a credit to all the friendly staff who work efficiently as a team to address our mum's needs. After a three-month stay in hospital, she was welcomed into Linson Court and quickly settled into her room with amazing views over Batley. We have no hesitation in recommending this care home due to the high level of care and attention that she receives in a clean, purpose-built, modern home.
After being informed of another close down in early January 2022 due to covid, and a number of staff away recovering, it was nice to be informed visiting was allowed again. The staff are always very helpful and informative in spending their time talking with my mum and making sure her needs with regard to toiletries and clothing and appearance are met. I cannot praise them enough for the work they do.
A massive thank you to the team at Linson Court for making mum’s 90th birthday a very special occasion. Mum had a lovely day due to Linson Court organising a party and a fantastic cake. When mum asked for some wine it soon appeared! It was a hard day for us not being able to visit mum inside on her birthday because of covid but we managed a window visit. We are so grateful to the staff for their humour, patience, hard work, and great care. Thank you ….your efforts are much appreciated.
A fabulous care home with amazing staff who I trust completely with the care of Mum. Mum always looks well-cared for, clean and tidy and when I ask if she likes being there she says she's very happy. The staff are brilliant and answer questions I may have about Mum's condition.
My husband was moved to this care home in April 2019 and has settled there really well after a troubled year elsewhere. The staff are kind, understanding and professional. They take care to make sure he is clean and comfortable and if you notice a problem and go to the office they have always flagged it up before you and are taking action to rectify. I cannot praise them highly enough.
I can only say great things about the staff at this facility. My mother was in a terrible state in the previous care home and since her move to Linson Court, we have a little of our mum back. She now smiles and is more relaxed and we have the care and patience of the wonderful staff at this home to thank for that. We all visit and are made to feel welcome and they do so much for Mum to make her feel part of the family and at home. She is treated like a person with an awful disease and not a problem, unlike the previous home. They love and cherish her and we all are grateful for the wonderful care that our mum receives.
It's almost 4 years that my mum has lived here. From the first day, all members of staff were very friendly, courteous, caring and have lots of patience, despite the fact, my mum doesn't speak English frequently. Management takes care of my mum's food requirements. The catering staff are extremely helpful all the time and take care of my mum's dietary requirements. Overall, our family is extremely thankful to each and everyone at Linson Court.
