View Full Details of St Breock Residential Care HomeBrilliant. Highly organised and efficient management team. Great levels of personal care and plenty of entertainment and home cooked food options for residents. After a period of adjustment Nan has settled in brilliantly made lots of friends and is a happy resident.
This is my last review of St Breock Care Home, my dear friend has gone to pick up leaves in another garden. She was with you for nearly 4 years and you made her feel happy and safe immediately, you helped her make it her home and part of an extended family. She laughed a lot, caused havoc occasionally and towards the end became very ill, but you carried on with excellent care. If you are looking for residential care that is safe and secure for a loved one, look no further, you won't find better. Don't look at the building, it is improving, it's the care that is important. Talk to the whole team, carers, housekeepers, caterers and entertainment, they are all there, working together with one aim, to care. I thank you all for the well-being, comfort and dignity you gave to her and the kindness and support extended to us.
This care home is amazing! The staff are so caring and helpful! So glad Nan is here and the staff treat her amazing and she feels so comfortable here which is so reassuring! Love how they organise stuff for the residents to do and include them all. Amazing.
My nan has been here for a couple of months and it was like a breath of fresh air. This is the best home she has ever been in, she is enjoying every second. The environment is so relaxing, fun and loving. There are so many amazing activities going on here to entertain Nan and the fellow residents like music performances and arts and crafts and the staff are wonderful. There are many amazing things I can say about the staff because they are all incredible at what they do so full of love and care.
Mum has been very well cared for since she arrived at St Breock. All the staff have been very caring and helpful and nothing too much trouble. During the month of December, there were lots of activities in the run-up to Christmas that residents were involved in, and although at times Mum was upset she was encouraged to take part and help with anything she couldn't manage on her own. Her room is cosy and clean but unfortunately, some of her clothes, all of which have her name in, have been lost, and she regularly has other resident's clothes in her room! But on the whole, all staff are very caring and professional.
So happy that we've managed to secure a place at St Breock for my mother. The staff and management are amazing. So kind, approachable and down to earth. They've supported the family through the move from my mother's previous care home and are doing everything they can to make her feel comfortable, safe and relaxed. It's an absolute pleasure to go and visit Mum now and she always looks clean and happy. It's like a breath of fresh air for us
A very well-run care home with great activities and lovely social areas. A big thank you to the assistant manager for sorting my mum with a room, and all the staff for looking after her so well. She has settled in and is very happy. Thank you.
We visited St Breock for the first time. Straightaway we were greeted by the Receptionist who offered us a drink. There were so many staff taking people for their tea and doing it with such sensitivity and care. All the staff greeted us enthusiastically. Our relative seemed entirely relaxed and was more engaged and alert than we had seen in a long time. The staff could not have been more attentive. Everyone we saw was treated with dignity and not in the sort of patronising way one so often sees with the elderly. One rather confused resident was gently steered away and distracted from the repetitive task she had got herself into. When it comes to any concerns relatives may have St Breock acts quickly and appropriately, whether it concerns comfort, well-being or health. It may not be the most prepossessing building externally, but it is so well worth stepping through the doors and witnessing what proper, outstanding care is. You will not be disappointed. From someone who's seen many homes.
St Breock is all about people with the residents' needs always at the forefront. My Mum has been living there for over 3 years now and I am confident that we made the right choice for her. The staff are wonderful, so patient, caring and willing to help. Mum can't walk, talk or feed herself but she is afforded the same level of dignity as any other resident. The management make us feel like part of one big family and always make themselves available to discuss and deal with any concerns in a quick, efficient and practical manner with Mum's needs always front and centre. The food is excellent, with individual tastes and requirements always catered for without question. The building itself had been very neglected by its previous owners but the new owners have already made and are continuing to make very substantial investment. It's great to see that the company is providing its fantastic staff with the support they deserve. In my mind, there is no better care home than St Breock.
My husband is now in full-time care here after 3 periods of respite. He has settled in remarkably well due largely to the happy and caring atmosphere throughout all areas of St. Breock. The carers and in fact all the staff, treat each resident as an individual and there is always laughter and jokes flying around. The food is amazing, the variety is second to none and any dietary requirements are immediately tailor-made for the individual. I can not speak highly enough of the staff and the comfort and facilities within the home. It really is a 'home from home' which has been such a comfort to me.
My mum has been living at St Breock since January this year. Originally on a 2-week respite, however, Mum felt so cared for and safe that she has decided to stay permanently. This was a big decision for her and after having respite in a few other places, she decided this was perfect for her. All the staff are amazing, caring, friendly and so patient with her. Mum loves the activities schedule, the hairdresser and the garden. St Breock keeps Mum's independence running at a high as she can get around easily in her wheelchair, she has a lovely big accessible room and is given a safe and loving space to do as much as she can for herself. Mum loves the meals and the wide choice on the menus. It's because it's so much like a loving family 'home' that it's wonderful but with safety and care professionals who show my Mum dignity, friendliness and love and I feel so relieved she is there and happy.
My mother has been a resident here for the past three months and so far I am happy with the service provided. She has a tough time with her health issues but everyone seems to make her as comfortable as possible. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and keep her nice and clean. We are able to visit as much as we like. Although she doesn't have much of an appetite these days she does enjoy the variety of food and drinks. We know at times it can be quite challenging but overall we are happy with the level of care provided here.
Excellent all around, staff especially brilliant, the dining area is always spotless with a great choice of food and drinks. I feel very happy and comforted that my grandad has a room here. Keep up the great work team at St Breock.
Always a warm friendly welcome from the staff when I visit my friend. My friend is very happy here and enjoys the friendships he has made. Good variety of afternoon activities and I can take my friend out for the afternoon when he chooses. A safe, caring environment which I would highly recommend.
My dear mum has been at St Breock for over 2 years now since April 2022, the welcome we have all received is fantastic. Mum has now settled in well, made new friends and is well cared for. Communication between the home and my family is 1st class. Mum is well cared for, staff are lovely and friendly and her needs are fully met, I am very happy and so is Mum, which is excellent.
Since my mother became a resident she has been treated with the greatest care and respect. She really appreciates this and loves the staff. She enjoys the excellent food and her comfortable room too. The only problem she has is that there are so few other residents who she can relate to. Most of them have severe dementia and that upsets her, she doesn't like seeing and hearing distressed and confused people, it upsets her so she doesn't take part in all the activities. Mind you, she's never been keen on organised activity anyway. She has dementia but is still perfectly able to have a conversation and read and enjoy company so she appreciates the caring staff who take the time to pop in and chat to her regularly throughout the day. Her family enjoy visiting, they are always made very welcome. They also appreciate the good communication which means they have regular updates. The only reason this isn't five stars is because some of the very confused residents make her sad.
After Dad's stroke, making the decision to move him to a residential home was a hard one. Now seeing him in the home is a breath of fresh air, the love and care that he receives but also noticing the care other residents receive is wonderful. He has come a long way, since moving to the home and thats down to all the help he gets from everyone at St Breock. To see him happy and smiling and part of the St Breock family is amazing.
My mum's care package was withdrawn and she was admitted as an emergency to St Breock Care Home until a new package could be arranged. She was made to feel welcome and part of the ‘family’. She was extremely anxious following the events leading up to her admittance and in the three weeks she spent there she was reassured that she was valued and was capable of returning to her own home. Her confidence was restored and I felt I was getting my old mum back. Thank you for all the care you gave to my mum. She is looking forward to joining you throughout the year for her arranged respite care, however, it is comforting to know that you are there for her whenever. Thank you.
St Breock is a breath of fresh air, everyone is always ready to help, happy, smiley and welcoming. I feel all the residents are treated with respect and given a great deal of care. Days are filled with activities, singing, bingo, crafts wonderful food and plenty of tea and cake.
St Breock is a homely, caring, delightful, safe and resident centred home with a welcoming environment. My mother has been a permanent resident for 2 months having previously been at the home for respite care for the past year. She has settled in very well and seems very happy and well cared for by the staff, who -are warm, welcoming, caring, attentive and professional. Residents are treated with dignity and respect. There is a good range of activities. A wide range of quality food choices and options. Fast and easy access to health professionals, such as GPs, dentists and podiatrists.
