View Full Details of Cloverdale Care HomeMy husband was cared for by Cloverdale Care Home as an end of life resident. We were treated with kindness and compassion by everyone we met from the time he was transferred from hospital until he passed away and would like to pass on my heartfelt thanks to all. I have no hesitation in recommending Cloverdale to anyone looking for care of a loved one.
It is a beautiful care home, the rooms are nice and modern - lovely and clean. The staff are absolutely amazing with my Father. Food given on site was to a high standard. I felt very comfortable knowing a family member was there.
Lovely staff. Good food. Good care for residents.
Thank you to the manager and all the amazing staff who are looking after my mum at this caring home. The care and meeting needs of my mother are what stand out and create an environment where she feels safe and happy. The kindness and time that has gone into making us all feel welcome has been amazing and we feel mum is in the best place. The security is great too which is normal in this setting but very reassuring for me to know Mum is safe as well as settled. I feel I can speak to all the staff openly and it is much appreciated. I rate it 5 stars. An added note the food is all homemade. Mum especially loves 'the sweet trolley' (she calls it this as it comes on a trolley). Today for lunch she chose a baked potato with cheese, ham and roasted veg and for dessert, she had a homemade Swiss roll with cream; there was also a choice of apples (or apple pie), custard or fresh orange jelly. So thanks to the chef and staff too.
Putting Dad's care into the hands of 'strangers' was one of the hardest things to do. However, after a short time those strangers have become his family. The staff, bar none, have supported, welcomed and cared for Dad as their own. They are diligent in his physical care and kind in his emotional care. The staff work hard to raise extra funds so residents can have special outings and have professionals in for extra activities. From management to kitchen staff, Cloverdale Care Home run an outstanding home. We wouldn't want Dad anywhere else.
A caring and friendly environment to residents and their families.
After an unsettled start two years ago, my mum soon settled in the home. She appears to be well cared for and all her needs are met. She enjoys all the activities, especially the singing and dancing. The staff are all friendly and polite.
The staff are very caring and very patient when at times they must struggle when my husband refuses personal care although he tells them they are wonderful and thanks them in his next breath. Thank you all, it means such a lot to know he is well cared for.
My mum has been having respite stays for a year and all the things we had hoped for have happened - she has company, has settled in well, is supported, has made friends, loves the range of activities offered, seeks out company and socialisation so her dementia progression is slowing down slightly. She came in for urgent respite in May with a view to becoming permanent. The staff were lovely and made Mum feel very welcome and remembering her name made her feel so happy. She unfortunately fell, but the response was amazing. Prompt, supportive, showed concern for me whilst we waited for the ambulance to come. The fall led to Mum having two hospital stays. On her return it was if she was going home. The staff were amazing and she was happy to be somewhere she felt safe and cared for. They have supported her with her mobility, making sure she didn't just sit back and do nothing. The food is lovely and she gets to satisfy her sweet tooth! All of our hopes have been realised, huge thank you.
Lovely catering. Staff always helpful, even when under pressure. Only comment to make is missing items of clothing, even thought they are labelled/marked, some lost items new. Appreciate care given to family members visiting.
Care and support is excellent and also residents are treated with respect and dignity. The care home facilities are basic, but adequate, what you are paying for is the dedication and expertise of the staff.
My uncle has been at Cloverdale for nine months and it has been a challenging time for him and his family. In general, the staff are very cheery, helpful and caring. Some are exceptional and go above and beyond expectations. There are regular activities which my uncle seems to enjoy. The staff regularly look into improvement opportunities to help matters and this is much appreciated. The food looks good and varied. My uncle sometime resists assistance and this can lead to difficult and stressful situations for all involved e.g. preparing to go for medical appointments. The premises are secure, but sometimes it takes a while to get in. I appreciate this is due to staff priorities. Overall, I am very pleased with the care received.
We visited on a Saturday morning and found that many of the residents were smiling, enjoying a game or chatting. The staff are very caring. They work very hard to care for the resident and Mum is always complimenting them, saying how helpful, hard-working and kind they are to her. Mum has diabetes and it has been managed so well since she came to live here. There are activities and even though she has vascular dementia, she can feel involved. It is a lovely place for her to live.
Care very good.
Mum has been a resident at Cloverdale for over a year now. The staff are marvellous. They are very caring and try to encourage Mum to join in with the events. Mum tends to like her own company in her own lovely room but enjoys it when the carers pop in to have a chat. I am very pleased and feel assured that Mum receives excellent care.
My overall view of Cloverdale Care Home is very good, the carers care very well for my mum.
My personal view is that it is very well run. Lovely staff and very nice surroundings. Overall, very good.
I like it here, the gardens are beautiful. The food is lovely, we eat well. Life is good. Carers always have to help me, they help me do my make-up. I am nearly 100, they help me look and feel my best.
Good food and great staff. Always plenty to do. We go on the taxi bus to the pub. I live a comfortable and happy life.
I did not ever think I would be in a care home. They get a lot of bad press - I don't know why. I am safe, have good food, plenty to do, and I live how I like to. Carers respect my wishes and go out of their way to make us all happy. That is truly a difficult job that they do, and they all do their best with a lovely smile.
