View Full Details of Earls Lodge Care HomeMy Dad was admitted to Earls Lodge on Emergency Respite following my Mum's death. He was admitted on 13th December, in a very confused state. He wasn't able to cope on a day to day basis looking after himself without Mum, or handling day to day chores. From the minute he was admitted, he was welcomed with open arms by all the staff, they made him feel safe and secure. My Dad is a very quiet, private man, and has always been very independent. He's Polite, and always says Please and Thank you. He berates himself for forgetting things, not knowing what day it is, not knowing where he is, but he always tells me how lovely all the staff are, and how much they do for him. He says they are worth their weight in gold, and I have to agree. They reassure him, they encourage him to join in, and they are very respectful towards him. It's highly unlikely my Dad will come home, but I am happy that the family at Earls Lodge will take very good care of my him.
The staff are wonderful and treat residents with care and respect. They go above and beyond to make residents feel welcomed, loved and cared for. The food is also of a high standard and refreshments are continuously brought round for residents.
I cannot speak highly enough about Earls Lodge. Due to both my parents becoming ill for different reasons, they both resided at Earls Lodge and the staff showed them care and dignity throughout. Mum passed away from dementia after a short illness and I was fortunate that she was able to return to Earls Lodge for her final days where I knew she was safe and loved. Dad remained in the home and despite being blind and only feeling comfortable in his room, the staff still would regularly check in on him for a chat and always considered his mental health. Dad passed away on 2 February and again I was blessed enough that the home fought with me and palliative care to return him to the home for his final hours. The staff made such a sad time in our lives into something happy and precious and I'll miss them all so much. For anyone considering Earls Lodge, I cannot recommend this wonderful home enough, because it truly became a beautiful safe home to us all.
My mum really needed some company as she was living alone with early stages of dementia. She isn't the easiest of people to care for as she gets very confused and this affects her mood. The staff here are so good with her helping her to keep busy with a wide range of activities and helping keep things as normal as possible (hair and nails done regularly).
My Grandma has been resident at Earls Lodge for nearly 12 months and we couldn't have asked for better care for her. I was unsure if she'd settle in but she's in the best room for having a nosey and been able to see people walking around. She's not the most sociable but she's finally coming round a bit and getting more involved, that's credit to the staff! Not pushy to get her into the day room (that's not her) but gentle encouragement to partake in things such as baking, which she loved to do at home, has brought her out of her shell a bit. I imagine she's a bit of a bossy boots when we're not around! All the staff are attentive and nothing is too much. She has a great relationship with them and she tells me they regularly pop in for a chat. As a family member, it's nice to be able to have a conversation with staff members when we visit. She is showered regularly and has recently taken to having a bath which she loves but couldn't manage before. Thank you to all the staff at Earls.
My mum has been a resident since 30th December. The staff have treated her with the utmost dignity and respect, managing to calm her when she becomes anxious. The activities are excellent and the care shown is exemplary. Thank you for making this a home.
Overall experience has been excellent. So much so, that we have requested that my father stay permanently. The home manager came out to meet us before entering. From that very day to today both myself, family members and especially my father feel 100% happy with the care he is receiving at earls lodge. All staff are kind caring attentive and well experienced. They meet his every need. Nothing is to much trouble
Superb staff, all super friendly and welcoming. All staff go above and beyond for all residents and family members too. Extremely kind and caring, have dignity and respect for all. Nothing you ask ever seems to much, they are extremely approachable and understanding.
Having my sister spending respite for a month in Earls Lodge has encouraged us (as a family) to continue with permanent residency. The staff are very attentive and caring. The manager and her assistant are very professional and are approachable in answering any questions, queries or giving advice. Despite the age of the home, there is an increasing modernisation and modern approach to caring. It is an ideal size for it to be very homely. I am impressed with the management team who I met.
Mum has been a respite resident for over a month now. The care she has received has been amazing. The happy, caring staff are always on hand to help and keep mum "going" as she puts it. After problems with a previous care home, I was worried but I needn't have been at all. I wish she could stay here long term, I know she's safe and looked after.
My former elderly neighbour came to Earls Lodge Care Home a couple of years ago. At first, I was apprehensive that he would settle in as hes a very private man. I needn't have worried. The lovely staff have brought him out of his shell and he now loves joining in all the activities. He's comfortable, clean and well cared for. He enjoys his meals too. He's looking far better now at 91 than he ever did in his own home. Its a nice place for visitors too, always made welcome.
I cannot thank the staff enough at Earls Lodge. The care they provide is more than exceptional and they cannot do enough. The management are always there to speak to regardless of how busy they are they make time to speak to you when you first arrive and when leaving they always ask if everything is ok with the visits. Anything I have ever said has been addressed there and then. Thank you so much to management and the whole team.
Since last October my mum has been a resident here. She has gained weight since coming here. All the staff go above and beyond to help my mum. Alarms are dealt with very swiftly. Loves all the activities from the singers to coffee mornings to nails done. The rooms are very tidy. Mum loves the cat therapy. The management are extremely helpful and all the staff are stars. Everyone of the service users and staff and residents family's are all like one big extended family. I wouldn't want my mum anywhere else.
The home was lovely and clean warm friendly staff. My mother-in-law, although dementia, as well set in now. Was well cared for clean and seemed happy provided with good food. Good quality of care. Regular activities.
Mum has been a resident at Earls Lodge coming up to 2 and a half years. Mum has always been happy here, feels safe and loves the staff. There is always someone cleaning, emptying bins, pushing a drinks trolley and available to speak to. It's home from home for mum, which is what we wanted for her. The staff are caring, genuine, empathetic and professional. I don't have a bad word to say. If there are things that need doing they just ask that you tell them, so they can improve or prevent. They are proactive and always looking for and providing entertainment and ways to make the resident's stay pleasurable and interesting.
The staff are all very helpful and caring. I was made very welcome on arrival. Earls Lodge is very clean and tidy the meals are very good and the food is served hot. the room is very clean and uncluttered. An airflow mattress was in situ on arrival and an airflow cushion for the chair.
I am very pleased with Earls Lodge Care Home. My mother has settled in quite well and tells me that the attentiveness of the staff is very good also she mentioned the food is good and plateful and everywhere is very clean. Someone is always mopping floors, emptying bins, cleaning toilets etc. It would benefit my mother if perhaps she could be moved closer to the lounge/dining room to help encourage her to get out of her room more.
I personally found Earls Lodge staff attentive, and caring, and nothing was too much for them in caring for residents. Not only were the staff good to my dad they also provided me with pastoral care and advice not having previously gained experience in dealing with care homes. They were always there for my father and, indeed, me. My dad needed some specific help on the occasions I visited. Upon calling for help staff were there virtually instantly to deal with the situation. Parts of the building are in need of decorating but otherwise, it is clean as are the rooms. Sadly I didn't get to see the garden in all its glory because the Home, like others, have suffered from the long drawn out wet winter and wet spring. In conclusion, a good care home with great staff creating a warm welcome for guests and residents alike.
Upon arrival to Earls Lodge for the first time I was pleasantly surprised at the environment, with residents and staff full of smiles, and the care that my sister is receiving is very good. It's a pleasure to go home knowing my sister is well looked after. Thank you for all your kind service.
My sister has only been in Earls Lodge for 2 weeks. I cannot fault the care and time management have given my sister in such a short period of time. My sister not only looks better but tells me she likes being at Earls Lodge. The staff is polite, helpful, hard-working and always seems happy. Nothing is too much for them. What an amazing environment to be in.
