View Full Details of The Village Care HomeSince my wife came to this home I have been delighted with her care. All staff are polite and friendly. She is shown dignity and I feel better knowing she is safe. Thank you all.
My mother entered the care home in January 2024. She was very unwell with medical problems as well as vascular dementia. My mother passed away on 27/8/24. I would just like to say that my mother was well cared for and shown dignity and compassion. The staff were always friendly and took good care of her. Her room was kept tidy and the food was good. In the final day of her life, which was very stressful, the staff were amazing, and I am so grateful.
My mum went into care in February 2024. We were dreading the transition and how Mum would react. From day one my mum has been so settled, so content and so happy. She has made friends and is so settled with the staff especially one member in particular who my mum just follows about. The relief that Mum is safe, happy and content is unmeasurable. Mum is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's and as heartbreaking as that is the relief we feel as a family is incredible knowing that however long Mum has left to live she is so content, safe and well looked after. The staff do an amazing job.
Our relative came to The Village for permanent care recently after a period of respite care in another home run by the same company. We chose The Village partly because of the care she received at the other home. Since arriving at The Village she has been looked after with great care and compassion. The staff are fantastic, we have been delighted how easily she settled into her new surroundings. They have made a very difficult time in our lives much easier. Sadly, our relative has now passed away, but as a family we would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone looking for somewhere that provides a caring and friendly home for a family member.
The staff at The Village Care Home, Cumbernauld, could not have given us a warmer welcome when we were looking for my wife's care. They made us feel so welcome and set our minds at ease at this most difficult time. Their attention to detail in reaching out to us and making us feel so welcome, my son and daughter too felt this right away. The personal touch was very evident when caring for my wife. We cannot express how good this felt at this difficult time.
My dad has been in the home for a couple of years and is well looked after by caring staff but feel there could be more staff. The laundry service has improved and clothes not going missing so much and tagged. All the staff are friendly and caring and I praise them for all the work they do. I would recommend The Village Care Home for your loved ones.
Whilst the home is a bit tired looking the staff are great. Welcoming, attentive and caring although I personally feel there could be more staff. Mum has been at the home for a couple of years now and is very settled and very well looked after. There has been a vast improvement in the laundry service and lots of Mum's clothes that were missing have found their way back to her wardrobe. Activities are greatly improved too and I have witnessed the fantastic interaction with the activities coordinator and the residents. I have always found Mum's room to be spotlessly clean and tidy and Mum's personal hygiene is very well maintained. I have nothing but praise for all members of staff that I come into contact with from office staff to carers to chefs every one of them has made me feel extremely welcome. It may not be the nicest looking home but I can relax knowing that Mum is being well looked after. I would be happy to recommend the Village Care Home for your loved ones.
The Village Care is an absolute shambles, wouldn't recommend it to anyone. They need to get their staffing issues sorted out. We kept getting told more staff were being brought in....still waiting! We went to an agenda meeting round about May/June time and the "management" promised us the earth...still waiting. The laundry department is a disgrace. We had to buy our dad clothes etc. because they kept going missing and that was with his name and door number on them. We found a pair of ladies' pants in one of his drawers. I mean really, get a grip! My dad sadly passed away at the beginning of August and no one from the home attended the funeral. I personally phoned the home and told them the date, time and location of when my dad's funeral was and they couldn't even get that right! My dad had bed sores on his right side and left foot. This was highlighted by a carer. The person highlighted that my dad required a new bed, he got it eventually 5 days later, absolute disgrace!
My father has been in The Village Care Home since August 2021. Our experience has been excellent with my Dad's needs being met and he is very well cared for. His overall health and well-being has improved and the support team around him has been excellent. My father is treated with respect and dignity which ensured that I am never concerned or worried about him. His care plan has been reviewed and I cannot fault the care that he receives. Thank you.
I visit my husband regularly at the care home and am completely satisfied with the care and attention he receives from all the wonderful staff. Nothing is too much bother and they are all friendly, caring people. He has been here in The Village care home for almost a year and I don't think I could have chosen a better place. He is always nicely dressed and his room is kept very clean and he loves the food.
Well looked after. All the staff are great. Food is great. All home comforts.
Having visited several care homes prior to my husband being admitted, The Village Care Home was the only one my family and I felt had a caring, friendly and very welcoming atmosphere. We could see staff went that extra mile for the people in their care - that was, and is, extended to relatives and friends visiting. My family and I rest easy knowing our very loved one is shown respect, well cared for and always aware of him keeping his dignity. The only thing I would say needs improving is staffing levels - staff are constantly on the go attention to, in my husband's case, personal care.
It's one of the hardest things to have to place your parent in care, however; Mum has dementia, and we had no choice. The Viilage Care Home, from start to finish, has been amazing! Mum settled so quickly, and I couldn't fault anything. The staff are incredibly caring and patient in every way - with the family too! I can relax knowing Mum is in great hands, and I can visit every day. Thank you.
This care home is very hygienic and tidy. The staff are very kind and caring. We would definitely recommend this care home to other people.
Due to covid restrictions, I am unable to give an in-depth review regarding activities and suchlike. Myself and family are happy with the care given to our mum. The staff are all kind and understanding of our mum's needs. I have been kept up to date with all aspects of her care. I am overall, happy with the care my mum is receiving.
Difficult to give an accurate review due to covid restrictions, however, from what I have seen, I am happy with my mum's care. Staff appear friendly and genuinely care for my mum. My review scores could have been different if covid restrictions were not in place, activities etc. Overall, happy with my mum's care.
My mother suffers from dementia and it was a hard decision to make, moving her from her own home to a nursing home. We made a good choice in deciding on The Village care home in Cumbernauld. Staff are fantastic with Mum and are so helpful. Nothing is a problem for them and we know them on first name terms. The nursing home is not too large and has a homely feeling. I would not hesitate to recommend the Village care home.
My aunt won't eat food and has shakes with truffles or cheesecake in. She seems happy enough. Big thanks to staff. Has had a sore at back passage for a long time and they have managed to clear it up. First time in years it has healed. Don't get aunt out of bed so she doesn't take part in activities and won't eat food, so I can't answer those questions.
Mum has been in the Village for 3 years now. Half of that time we have been dealing with the impact of Covid, which meant that Mum went from seeing a family member most days, to not seeing any of us for many months. This was hard but it was a great comfort to know that she was being cared for by kind people, in a pleasant environment. We could tell she had developed a fondness for those who cared for her and her face lit up when she saw them. Now that we are back visiting again, we feel very welcome and have confidence in Mum’s ongoing care, as her dementia takes hold. I am putting “ good “ rather than “excellent” in some of the categories, as I don’t feel very able to comment in the current circumstances.
My gran has always smiled whenever she sees a member of staff, this has provided me with great comfort. The staff have always been very caring and understanding, when I have called or visited. My gran is nearing the end of her life and while it is a difficult time, she seems comfortable and content. Her room is very homely and I know the staff are taking care of her. I would have liked to see more activities taking place pre covid.
