View Full Details of Meadow Grange Care HomeMy parents were cared for by the excellent caring staff here. Both myself and my family always felt welcomed and at home when visiting. The social life on offer for residents is both varied and thoughtful providing activities for the varying needs of individuals. The care given to both my parents at the end of their lives took both our wishes and theirs into consideration. We will always be grateful to the staff that they were so well cared for.
Meadow Grange is one of the best care homes I have ever been involved with. In this instance, it was because my Mum was a resident. The care, physical, psychological and emotional is second to none for both residents and relatives. I have witnessed all staff not just doing their best but always going the extra mile, from daily activities to raising funds. It has the feeling of a second home and staff extended family. I could not have wished for a better place for my Mum to live in feel blessed I found it, Mum loved it, and I will continue to support it and visit.
The care my mother-in-law is receiving is excellent. The staff are so skilled, patient and creative in finding ways to make life fun and interesting for residents and to build their skills and confidence. The lengths they go to in order to create opportunities for stimulation and enjoyment are commendable. They give us confidence and peace of mind, they let us know when my relative is having difficulties and how they are supporting her, finding personalised solutions. In the last 14 months, I have seen many upgrades to the building and gardens. There is lots of outside space to enjoy. The managers communicate well and have enabled me to stop worrying so much about my mum-in-law who is now very frail and confused, but thanks to them is able to access lots of activities and good food and company. I would also like to mention the opportunities for Christian worship which is very special for my relative.
My husband has been living at Meadow Grange for 3 years now and his vascular dementia has slowly worsened. During this time the care that he has received has been wonderful. The staff have always cared well and in the early stages he enjoyed the activities. Sitting outside was always great as it gave him new surroundings and fresh air. Sadly the pandemic made life difficult for visiting especially when we had to try to talk through a window but things gradually improved. Throughout this time Meadow Grange staff did a good job and at one time several members lived there for weeks to care for the residents. Sadly my husband is deteriorating but the care is still wonderful. I can’t thank them all enough.
My mum spent the final 8 months of her life in Meadow Grange Care Home, she passed away in January 2023. She originally went in for 3 weeks respite but liked it that much she decided to stay. All of the staff are amazing, every resident is treated with such care. There’s constant activities going on - games, crafts, singing, dancing and entertainers. Day trips and outings are regularly arranged, my mum went on one to the seaside and ate fish and chips which she loved. The actual building itself is well maintained, constantly working to upgrade areas and it’s kept looking nice. I would certainly recommend Meadow Grange to anyone, they go that extra mile.
I find the carers and managers extremely friendly. My mum has been at Meadow Grange for one year and is happy and settled. It is nice to be able to go from her room and sit in the television room, which is decorated and furnished beautifully. Also, it's nice to go and sit in or outside the summer house - it has a lot to offer. I feel the standard of the meals needs to be improved and a bit better choice on the menu but I would say that is the only gripe I have got. I would like to see the meals improved.
Staff are plentiful and the care is always there with staff engaging with residents and ensuring visitors are updated about their relatives. Only comment my mother-in-law had to make was there wasn't enough variety of vegetables at lunchtime.
I have found Meadow Grange to be excellent right through the process of assessment and initial transfer through to the ongoing care of my mother. All the staff have a friendly and caring attitude and have made my mother feel very welcome. She has been encouraged to join in with the regular activities which are organised for each morning and afternoon. My mother has settled very well and is much better then when she moved in. Meadow Grange has excellent relationships with local health professionals.
Meadow Grange is like a hotel for the residents. Always very clean, smells fresh and in good décor. We always receive a warm welcome and my father-in-law loves going. The staff are very friendly, while professional and treat the residents with care and respect. Can't fault it.
All the staff, facilities and services are excellent. I believe that the quality of care is the very best available in any UK care home today.
Residents are all well know by all staff. A friendly environment with plenty of bright and light social spaces. The staff are keen to accommodate the many varied needs of residents and keep us very well informed of any issues that arise.
Both my parents were residents at Meadow Grange Care Home. My father passed away 14 months ago and my mum 2 weeks ago. In my dad's words, Meadow Grange was "the second best thing to my home". My sister and I are unable to fault any care that has been provided for our parents. All staff strive to get to know the residents really well and care is often very unique and individual. We always had 100% confidence in knowing that our parent's care was excellent. The activities provided at the home were daily and wonderful. They were both extremely happy at Meadow Grange and we cannot thank the staff enough.
Meadow Grange has a lovely, caring environment. All the staff remain cheerful and are ready and willing to help at any time.
Dad lived in Meadow Grange for 18 months before he passed away there in December. We never regretted moving him there as their care, patience and professionalism was excellent and we highly recommend it. It is very well managed, with managers being friendly, approachable and responsive to any worries we had. Dad had Lewy Body Dementia so at times his behaviour was challenging but this was dealt with professionally but with empathy. The garden and patio are great, we spent many happy days sat on the patio watching the world go by. The Summer House is set up in a Coffee House style, an ideal place for enjoying time with friends and family. The menus are varied and Dad always loved the food, especially the puddings! The activities programme is excellent with two sessions every day. They also show films and bring in Entertainers. We are happy Dad was able to spend the last 18 months of his life in a safe, friendly, homely environment as a valued member of the Meadow Grange family.
My mother has been in the care home now for 6-7 weeks and I visit her practically every other day. She is so very well looked after. I find the staff so very friendly and caring. The home is also a beautiful calm place to visit but with lots of activities to do and take part in. I was so nervous about mum moving in and had been trying to cope at home but feel very lucky to have found such a wonderful place.
Caring staff, very professional and have maintained to high standards.
My mother was admitted following 4 weeks in hospital and 2 in rehabilitation. With severe mobility problems she had recognised, however reluctantly, that she needed a level of care her home could not provide. Within 2 days of moving into Meadow Grange, all her apprehensions had vanished. She had nothing but praised for all the staff and an absolute love for her own room within the home. She praises the meals and incidental catering provided.
Don't expect it to be like home because it isn't. But for people who can't look after themselves it's very adequate and for people who are extremely lonely. The staff are really wonderful. There's plenty to do with various activities and you won't feel lonely.
I have found the home to be kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. Staff are friendly and supportive, with emphasis on encouraging chats in activities they are still capable of. Meals are on time and enjoyable with care taken with individual tastes. This is a happy home with caring staff. All requests I have made for help have been dealt with satisfactorily.
We are always given a warm, pleasant reception. The staff always have time to speak and help find auntie on arrival. Have never found place anything but clean and no unpleasant smells. Auntie is always well turned out.
