View Full Details of The White House Nursing HomeMy mother stayed at The White House for just over 2 years, only leaving due to her needing nursing care. The staff really do make the home, they had a laugh with her and were always patient, friendly and caring. They always have time for family members too and are very responsive and helpful regarding any queries. The management are absolutely great and offered me help and support, going above and beyond in various stressful times. I couldn't have asked for a nicer group of people to take care of her and I know she will certainly miss them!
The White House was the home chosen by my mother after an emergency respite admission. This was an extraordinarily difficult time for us all made bearable by the caring and committed staff. The room was decorated for Mum moving into her room, with colours of her choosing. This, alongside being able to bring her treasured furniture, made a huge difference to her being able to call the care home 'home'. The staff are your greatest asset. They work hard, are dedicated and have at all times shown compassion. I am very aware that the infrastructure desperately needs work. This is no reflection on how it is managed and cared for on a daily basis, but the company managing this superb staff and care facility very much need to invest time and effort bringing the building to match the high standards of care shown by it's staff; this would not only improve the quality of the environment for people who call the White House home, but would show they value the hard work and care shown.
I was lucky enough to be able to visit friends abroad, during July this year. Of course with Mum being in the home, and me as her main carer, I was torn whether to go or not. But not for long, I had senior staff looking out for my long-term welfare, first of all, which I can't thank them enough for. Then, of course, I had Mum's wellbeing to think about. As I had no worries about her care. Much to my amazement, I had video calls from Mum, whilst I was away, showing me how well and happy she was, and though she didn't really know who I was. My mind was put at rest, and I could relax. I am very grateful to The White House, who I feel are like extended family, I would do anything I could to help them, in what is such a hard job. As I know the care is centered around every individual patient. Who they are genuinely fond of, plus you have staff there, who have been there since the home opened. Not many can be so proud of the staff, who are that loyal, these days.
Our Mam came to the White House for respite following a stay in hospital and has subsequently become a permanent resident. From our very first phone call to the present time we have experienced an outstanding level of care and consideration towards Mam and us (her family) we feel very confident that Mam is in a safe and caring environment and all her needs are being met. The home has an open visiting policy and we are made to feel welcome at each visit. All staff members we have met have shown the same high level of friendly considerate care. As a family, we are more than happy with the care Mam is being given at the White House, and would highly recommend this Care Home.
Overall I am very pleased with my mother's stay at The White House. The staff are caring and look after her well. The room and building could possibly benefit from being redecorated but the staff more than make up for this with their care.
I don't have any problems whatsoever with The White House's care of my brother and the staff are always very attentive to myself and my brother receives visits from friends and the staff always keep me informed about any problems and appointments that my brother has.
I am more than happy with The White House Nursing Home, with the care my dad receives. He has been there for a number of years now. The staff are always very pleasant and work very hard caring for the residents. My dad has settled in well and gets on well with staff. There is always activities going on. Yes there has been a change of staff but with lockdown and care work generally you always get that. They have lost some very good, hardworking staff. But I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a care home, it is safe, clean and the staff are worth their weight in gold.
The White House staff are second to none on the caring side and they are all so helpful and pleasant, I feel lucky to have my husband in such a lovely home and I know he is well looked after which makes my life more manageable and I spend quality time with my husband.
What an absolutely lovely residential home! Every member of staff I've met are pleasant, caring, recognise me and who I'm there to visit. My mam is treated with respect and dignity. They have a laugh with her, my mam appears to love every one of them! It's an absolute pleasure visiting my mam. She's happy, content, clean and looks well cared for. She's obviously comfortable where she is, she never says she wants to leave or she doesn't like her room. She joins in all the activities and from photos I see she loves every minute. I'm kept updated by staff of any issues involving my mam, ie if she's poorly etc. I attended a review recently with a member of staff to discuss my mam's care, which I think was a brilliant idea and I have another one booked in. It may not be the most modern, up to date home but that doesn't matter. It's clean, has fantastic staff and it actually has a lovely homely feel to it. All I want is my mam to by happy, well looked after and cared for and she has it.
Reviews are vetted so you can only say so much. There were some great great carers here but others who clearly didn't care at all. Serious health and safety issues. I frequently had sickness and diarrhoea after visits. Mam and her room were often dirty and stained with dried excrement. Her clothes rarely coordinated. Her hair was often not tidy on visits and her fingernails, and sometimes she herself were simply filthy. I can't state strongly enough against using this facility for your loved ones. Her room was not supervised adequately and totally insecure. Other residents frequently entered her room and terrorised her. High turnover of staff. Good staff generally didn't stay long. There are a lot more, more serious incidents to complain about, but, as I say, I can only say so much. Stay safe and stay away from The White House.
My brothers and I are more than happy with The White House Nursing Home for the care my sister gets. It's obvious she loves it there, the staff are brilliant and they are very obliging, always pleasant and worth their weight in gold. I do think the place could do with a spruce up.
You need another option box as very poor doesn't come close and 200 words is grossly insufficient to complain about this appalling home. Our family would never have placed our mother here but the hospital discharged her there - do they inspect it! She had broken her knee while in the hospital's care and was sent here for rehab but for seven weeks she was sat in a chair all day with no stimulation whatsoever, looking at dirty surroundings - we took endless photos to back this up. From day one, we were disgusted by what we saw and the levels of neglect and lack of care our mother received. When she fell out of bed, which resulted in horrendous facial bruising, they had to admit no crash mat was in place. It was shocking how much weight she lost. The majority of residents have no visitors, so this home needs to be closed for the sake of these poor people with no voice. As I said, you need larger forms as so many complaints.
My mam came to the White House Nursing Home for initially 2 weeks respite care, due to advanced Alzheimer's disease. We chose The White House Nursing Home, following research and first-hand recommendations and on the standard of care, the home were able to provide. We visited the home with my mam on spec, our questions were answered and we felt reassured. Following the 2 weeks respite, my mam settled, she was eating and had made friends with other residents, therefore as a family along with the CPN and social services input, we decided that long-term care was in my mam's best interests, she was at risk of injury and self-neglect. This was an extremely difficult decision to have to reach, however the care and support from all the staff has made the decision more bearable and proven to us that my mam is in the best place to receive the level of care and support she requires and to keep her safe, which my father and myself were no longer able to provide for her.
My Mam is very precious and loved by her husband, my brother and his partner along with my wife and I. Unfortunately, due to her mental and physical decline, she is very vulnerable and needed 24hr care. Though it was a very difficult decision it was necessary to place her in a care setting in May of 2018. Following numerous enquiries, we decided on The White House for her care provision. The standard of care, concern and interest is excellent. Staff take a genuine interest in the residents and the care provided is first class. The only drawback is that the building and it's furnishings require a degree of refurbishment and investment, that said I have no hesitation in recommending the White House Nursing Home due to the quality of care offered.
Mam was admitted to the home as a result of a family crisis and mam's deteriorating mental state through her dementia. This was a traumatic time for the whole family but the home manager and the support of senior staff were superb during this time. The staff team are warm and caring and mam seems relaxed and happy there. We as a family would highly recommend the home to any potential people who may need such a service.
My wife has only been a resident for a few weeks. So far... so good!
My dad was only at the home for a short period before his death but the standard of care he received was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and caring not only to my dad but also to our family. Nothing was ever a problem for them. Both manager and staff went above and beyond to make sure the last few weeks of my dad's life were happy. I could not fault them at all. Excellent nursing home.
My Father was only in the home 2 weeks before he passed away. The staff and management couldn't do enough for my Father in this time. They treated my Father with total respect and he was so happy whilst there. We visited other homes prior to admission but The Whitehouse won hands down and they need more recognition for their dedication.
Fantastic caring staff, couldn't do enough for my Father-in-law. He was only in the home 2 weeks before he, sadly, passed away. We visited a few residential/nursing homes first but nothing could beat The White House Nursing Home as far as we were concerned. Purely professional and dedicated staff and the home is run by the manager who was absolutely amazing.
We feel, as a family, that our Mother is very well looked after. She has daily health checks and her medication is given regularly. She enjoys the food and is happy in their care. Staff will call us with any concerns and always have time to talk to us on our visits. The staff are all caring and friendly and I'm sure they do their very best to care for the residents.
