View Full Details of Riversway Nursing HomeWonderful manager and staff. Very happy atmosphere in home. All staff were very kind and compassionate when caring for Mum. Nothing was too much trouble. Also made sure that any visitors were looked after and they were always there to answer any questions. Mum was always treated with dignity and respect. Too many good points to fit in! Would recommend 100%. Thank you.
Thanks to Riversway Care Home. A lovely caring and friendly home. Jan the manager is very approachable and will try to accommodate the best way she can. The manager and her team are great fun and I loved the Forget Me Not cafe they run every month. It was good to have a sing-along with Mum. The manager was a lovely lady and a great support. The carer was also very approachable along with the rest of the caring staff. Well done to you all you work hard and well as a team.
I made the decision with my parents that we wanted them to move to Riversway Nursing Home due to it being nearer to where I lived and knew that they gave good quality person-centred care. At that time they were living in North Devon and received the news that their care home was closing. The manager and other members of her team including the dedicated admiral nurse went over and above to help and assist me in getting my parents to this care home and cannot thank them enough. Both my parents are enjoying living in such a kind and compassionate environment. Thank you Riversway.
The staff at Riversway cared for my father for nearly 3 years. They were always kind and caring to him and provided excellent, compassionate care. He was given nursing and mental health support, which was appropriate and supportive. He was well looked after until his passing in March 2024. The food could have been improved. Overall, an excellent, caring environment with spacious, light rooms and garden facilities. Thank you to all staff, especially for the end-of-life care.
My mum who had dementia moved into Riversway in October 2021. She settled in lovely and enjoyed doing her activities/singing. The staff were helpful and attentive and friendly. They were also sympathetic and caring when I felt down. My mum passed away in March 2024 and sent me a card and flowers. I will always be grateful for the kindness shown to myself and my family at this time of grief.
I have worked in care myself and have been through a long personal journey where I looked after my mum but the time came I needed help and had to look for a care home for her. I fought for a place on the panel with Riversway as I visited many homes where I just wasn’t happy to place her. Riversway are fantastic. Genuine staff who care. The manager there is fantastic and now I feel like part of the furniture they’re visiting anytime. You see what you get here. A warm home where my mum is as happy as possible. Staff go above and beyond to meet her individual needs. The staff take time to listen and treat her as an individual regarding meeting her needs. I can honestly say you need to look at Riversway if you find yourself in a place looking for a lovely care home. I couldn’t wish for a better place for her, and honestly, I don’t know what I’d do without her being here, because it’s not often you find a place like this.
My Father has been a resident at Riversway since Dec 2023. His dementia is very complex and he also has ongoing health issues with type 1 diabetes which is currently maintained due to the hard work of the staff at Riversway. He can be very antagonistic and rude to staff, but they always endeavor to see to his needs. We as a family are very pleased with the care that they give him, they also play an active part in helping make him stay content.
I particularly found the staff helpful as my friend in the last few months was difficult and he lacked a social network. I was very impressed and thankful for the staff and carers and have recommended Riversway to others. I noticed a real effort to do the best for residents. Huge efforts were made that enabled my friend to get out of being bed-bound after many months of him being in the hospital not even moving to a chair. I am deeply grateful for all they did.
Mum's stay was relatively short at the home but I found the home to be easily accessible and staff friendly and also I received phone calls when necessary with updates on Mum's health. Overall, the care home seemed well maintained and has nice staff who are all approachable (would recommend to others)
The staff were friendly and supportive. It was reassuring to know that Mum was being cared for so well at such a difficult time. The freedom to visit whenever and for however long we wanted to make the best of the time we had left with Mum. Thank you.
Staff are friendly, professional and welcoming. Nursing home is lovely and homely.
While my wife was in your care she was looked after very well. You did what you could for her being so ill right up to the point where she passed away. I could not fault the care that she got and you were very caring. So thanks for everything that you did for her, I am very grateful for your care towards her. Thank you very much for what you did.
Although our daughter was only there for a short time, the care and support was very good.
Hi to everyone, thank you for this opportunity to say my brother-in-law spent his final time at Riversway Nursing Home. The staff from the manager and the whole of her team were amazing, kind, caring compassion and went the extra mile when needed. I myself worked for Bristol City Council in care, so I do know how hard their jos is. The whole team work together which after 40 years in care myself know how important teamwork is. I shall always be very grateful for how they cared for my brother-in-law and also all of us as a family. Thank you so much all at Riversway Nursing Home.
My beloved mum was a resident for just short of 2 years. Mum was very clear that she did not want men dealing with her personal care, this was not always adhered to. Bedding, really unsatisfactory, vile nylon sheets, random blankets and at times torn or no pillows. I supplied a pillow, and her own blankets, but whilst clearly labeled still went missing and she was left with whatever they had. Due to mum's illness, she often refused personal care, the records said that they would try again later, but the record-keeping was so slack, that it was never recorded if they did go back. During her time in the home, Mum lost the ability to walk, most times when visiting, mum would be on her bed, and any drinks were on the other side of the room where she had no chance of reaching. Food, whilst a new chef made beautiful cakes, some of the food was unrecognisable. The nurses and carers were wonderful with mum, but management need to take a closer look at what it's really like there.
My mother was a resident of Riversway Nursing Home for approximately two years. During that time, the staff took great care of her, especially as her dementia took hold. They were exceedingly kind and patient to her throughout and always friendly and polite to us, her family. During Mum’s final days, the staff were always on hand to help and lend a sympathetic ear.
They looked after Dad with great care. He was always happy and clean. The care staff always spoke with me to give me updates and rang me if there was a problem. The staff were great and looked after him well. He made friends whilst he was there, although he did have some altercations but these were dealt with. All in all, a really good home.
The care and love Riversway Nursing Home showed to my mum in her final weeks were above and beyond anything was could have asked for as her family. Complete dedication, you gave Mum dignity whilst also showing care, love and concern for her family. You guys are amazing. Thank you.
After over three years at Riversway Nursing Home my husband sadly passed away. He was cared for, loved and respected from the start of his time to the very end. I could not have asked for more. From the very start, the staff of this nursing home showed him such compassion and care despite some appalling language from him. Their care level and constant respect helped this poor deeply traumatised man settle and feel safe for most of his time. In consequence we, his family, also settled. I can never thank you all enough!
My aunt passed away in January after spending the last 4 and a half years of her life at Riversway Nursing Home. During her time there, her health deteriorated due to dementia, she was always well cared for by the excellent staff, she was safe and secure and I felt she was in the best hands. Everyone at the home were always helpful and professional. I will always recommend to others looking for care for a relative.
