The staff and nurses at Barrowhill Hall Resd. Home are second to none. Very proffesional, caring and always on hand, makes me happy to know that my mother is being kept safe and sound in a cared environment. Good home cooked food and clean rooms and activities to keep her busy through the day. Thank you.

Mum was in hospital for eight weeks and went directly to the home for palliative care. All the staff were very caring, Mum and family were made to feel very welcome and we visited many times. Everywhere was spotless, Mum's room was cosy and warm. The kitchen staff, carers and nursing staff did their very best for Mum as her health declined.

On visiting Barrowhill Hall Residential and Nursing Home for the first time, I was amazed at the vastness of the main sitting room. There appeared to be enough room for a great many people, all relaxing in comfy armchairs as well as seating available round various tables. There were enough carers dotted about the room ready to assist any patient that needed help. Everything ran like clockwork. How clean everywhere. My wife had her own room which had all amenities and was cosy.

After what has been an unpleasant experience for my husband and myself, I relieved to say he is now safely ensconced at Barrowhill Hall Residential and Nursing Home. Set in the beautiful countryside Barrowhill Hall is everything and more you could ask for in the care of your loved one.

My husband has been a resident at Barrowhill Hall Residential and Nursing Home for five weeks. Initially remained agitated but now he is happy, settled and enjoys friendships of other residents. The care is excellent, I searched for a long time for a suitable home (as a retired nurse) and the moment I visited, I knew this was the one. Activities seven days a week, lovely, friendly, caring staff, I can visit any time, have meals with my husband, he couldn't have better care.

I just find the care staff excellent, supportive but not overbearing, kind, proactive in dealing with the patients. The atmosphere is always calm and relaxed and never rushed or over noisy. Always made to feel welcome and always find a carer with my sister and being kind and attentive.

After having a really bad experience in a previous first respite, I was really anxious about my partner attending Barrowhill Hall. I was so wrong - he had an amazing week. The staff were so good with him, he had consistency with some 1-1 carers, and they were so attentive and I felt so relaxed leaving him there. Each time I contacted them, I always got through and was reassured he was doing well. Such a beautiful, well-maintained, positive place to stay. All the staff were very helpful and polite, and everything was well organised - highly recommend.

I can't praise Barrowhill Hall enough as my husband has had the best care. He was shown warmth and kindness from all the staff, the menu looked lovely, and the home is in wonderful surroundings. It's very clean and comfortable; his room was like home from home. Thank you to everyone who looked after him. I have no hesitation in recommending Barrowhill Hall.

We have been extremely happy with the care that my father has received during his stay at Barrowhill Hall Residential and Nursing Home. The staff are very professional, if there are any concerns, the concerning matter or situations are reviewed under the utmost care and attention for my dad. The feedback we receive over my dad's care is given in a quick, precise manner. Well done to all staff at Barrowhill Hall Residential and Nursing Home, special thanks to the clinical lead nurse.

Dad has been at Barrowhill Hall for 4 months now. It was a difficult decision to move him into care but definitely the right decision. From the first meeting, the staff have greeted us with warmth and friendliness. Dad is genuinely well cared for and he quickly formed a strong bond with staff and is very happy there. The home is in beautiful surroundings, it’s clean and comfortable and the food looks & smells fantastic. What sets Barrowhill Hall apart from others is the staff, the care and the attention to detail - that might be an elbow tap or a wink through to a game with a balloon, a walk in the garden, a bubble bath or a birthday cake made to meet dietary requirements. I have no hesitation in recommending Barrowhill Hall.

My mum has settled in well to Barrowhill Hall/Churnet Lodge where all her current needs are catered for. This is a warm and friendly environment which encourages residents to be involved in regular activities. My mum has particularly enjoyed the recent musical entertainment, being challenged with completing jigsaws and games. She particularly loves having her hair done and nails painted! Therefore our overall experience is excellent.

Having previously experienced two other care homes that were unable to meet the needs of my husband, we are so pleased with what Barrowhill has to offer. My husband is not only well cared for, he is happy there. It is reassuring to see staff genuinely care for the residents, it is not just a job for them.

My father is a resident and I could not wish for a better home for my dad. The staff are kind, caring and professional. Dad has all that he needs and more. I know he is well cared for and has never been happier. Dad is stimulated mentally with all of the activities, entertainment and day trips out. Most importantly for me, the staff go above and beyond to care for him and are warm and welcoming to visitors. I give Barrowhill 5 stars with no hesitation.

I can sincerely say that both the care and facilities at Barrowhill Hall are simply outstanding. The care and love they show my mother is first-class. My mother was and is a glamorous lady, and the team knows this, as such, she is cared for in such a dignified and respectful manner. She is always so well-presented, even first thing in the morning. The accommodation is fabulous, and the food is divine with lots of choices. The home is impeccably spotless, airy, warm cheerful, in fact, I dont think I've seen a staff member not smiling. I can't express how grateful we are as a family that we found Barrowhill Hall and just how well Mother has settled here. Caring for those living with Dementia can be difficult, but it's not rocket science, it's heart science, and this place has mastered it. Best wishes.

We felt the friendly atmosphere from the minute we turned onto the drive. The home is stunning and incredibly clean with zero smells, apart from good food. The staff are all amazing and treated the residents like members of their own families. The level of patience, care and affection were unbelievably good, particularly for residents living with dementia. We are always so well informed by the members of staff on anything regarding my mother-in-law. The care team are always warm and welcoming when visiting the home, and the manager is always available to chat and know our loved one so well! We were worried about how she would settle into a care home, but it was the best decision we could have made. She is now in a vibrant, happy and yet relaxed environment, offering lots of activities. My wife and I couldn’t ask for more!

My husband has been a resident at Barrowhill Hall Residential and Nursing Home for five weeks. Initially remained agitated but now he is happy, settled and enjoys friendships of other residents. The care is excellent, I searched for a long time for a suitable home (as a retired nurse) and the moment I visited, I knew this was the one. Activities seven days a week, lovely, friendly, caring staff, I can visit any time, have meals with my husband, he couldn't have better care.

The staff were so good with him, he had consistency with some 1-1 carers, and they were so attentive and I felt so relaxed leaving him there. All the staff were very helpful and polite, and everything was well organised - highly recommend.

Dad has been at Barrowhill Hall for 4 months now. It was a difficult decision to move him into care but definitely the right decision. From the first meeting, the staff have greeted us with warmth and friendliness. Dad is genuinely well cared for and he quickly formed a strong bond with staff and is very happy there. The home is in beautiful surroundings, it’s clean and comfortable and the food looks & smells fantastic. What sets Barrowhill Hall apart from others is the staff, the care and the attention to detail - that might be an elbow tap or a wink through to a game with a balloon, a walk in the garden, a bubble bath or a birthday cake made to meet dietary requirements. I have no hesitation in recommending Barrowhill Hall.

My father is a resident and I could not wish for a better home for my dad. The staff are kind, caring and professional. Dad has all that he needs and more.
