We have found all the staff to be kind and caring and we are comforted to know that mum is in good hands and well cared for.
My dad has been a resident in Meadowcroft since just before xmas 2024. All the staff at Meadowcroft from cleaners, to management have been so friendly and caring. Nothing is too much trouble to make my dads stay more comfortable.
Brilliant care Good activities under 2 carers Delightful bonus is a bowl or basket of apples oranges bananas for residents to help themselves Regular fitness instructor
I know that the care of the residents should be my main focus but the care home is absolutely beautiful since the update. Everywhere looks lovely and feels a lot brighter and welcoming. All the staff are caring, attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them. They are always extremely supportive and approachable.
My dad came to stay in Meadowcroft in the summer (2024) and has been happy. The staff are attentive and caring and he gets on well with them. It's nice to know he's looked after well.
Mum has settled well. Very caring and thoughtful staff. Approachable. Good facilities - just being refurbished.
Please, please don't send your loved ones here if they suffer with dementia. They really can't cope with it. I have had several phone calls day and night from staff complaining because my mum's dementia is difficult to manage and they can't cope, asking me to come in or call her, late at night. After a few months, they have now said they can't look after her and she now needs to go to somewhere that actually can manage dementia patients.
My 93-year-old mother has been a resident for nine months. I visit 2-3 times per week and have been very pleased with the care my mother receives. The caring and patient attitude of the staff is good to see, also the leadership and hands-on approach of the manager and deputy manager promote an excellent atmosphere.
The standard of care was excellent. Treated Mum as their own. Both day and night staff went above and beyond duty of care. Mum felt safe, secure and loved right up to her passing. We as a family, cannot thank all staff enough. Medowcroft is highly recommended for its quality of care and support.
Mum came into Meadowcroft for respite, with a view to possibly staying longer. Sadly that was not to be, as her physical and mental health deteriorated further, and Mum died at the home. In the short time she was there, Mum was treated with respect, kindness and professionalism. And in the final days of Mum's life, I pretty much moved in full-time and was also treated with sensitivity and compassion. Yes, a refurb is needed and it's being carried out now; the food offering could be better; and it would be wonderful to see residents more engaged in stimulating activities (rather than sitting in front of the TV or left in their rooms). Those are things which, in my opinion, Meadowcroft should work to improve. However, the quality of care is exemplary. All the staff - carers, housekeeping, office workers, nurses - wanted to get to know Mum so they could best meet her practical, medical and social needs and preferences. Mum was in safe hands and I am forever grateful to Meadowcroft staff.
Mother has now been at Meadowcroft for about four years. Her mind has taken her through a rollercoaster of ups and downs but the staff she has been surrounded by have gone over the mark to care and look after her. She feels loved, respected and cared for. They are her immediate family and me and my family's gratitude will never be able to repay them!
My mother receives excellent care of Meadowcroft. All the staff are both caring and amazing.
I came to the care home for a fortnight after my husband died because I could not manage on my own due to having MS secondary progression. The care staff were brilliant and kind and helped me to begin my new life. I have been here nearly three years and continue to value the staff as my family is in Leeds and unable to visit often. Everything is not perfect all the time, but the friendliness of the staff makes it a happy place to be.
At weekends usually, a very long wait for visitors to get in or out of the building. Food choices are uninspired. The staff and management are kind and welcoming. My husband is put in bed often about 2 - 2.30pm, he is bored and doesn't get shaved very often. Tea/coffee trolley visiting rooms at about 3pm would be appreciated.
My mother has been in Meadowcroft since December 2022. She has settled in well thanks to the care of the staff there. She can become confused and needs reassurance and promoting. Any medical issues I have raised have been taken seriously, and my mother has been seen by the doctor on their next visit. I have then received a call from the team leader to update me. I mentioned to someone recently that Mum's nails needed cutting, and that had been done when I next visited. The staff do care. I am also very happy that activities have restarted after lockdown.
Excellent care home. All staff are excellent. Very clean care home.
My mother has been living at Meadowcroft for just over two years. I continue to be impressed by the positive attitude of the staff, who work very hard - sometimes in challenging situations - to ensure the safety, happiness and comfort of the residents. This includes the onsite hairdresser who understands the morale-boosting effect of a haircut for her clients. Staff also arrange a wide range of activities which residents care partake in if they wish. Medical cover is excellent, with a nurse on duty 24/7. The local GP visits weekly. Residents also have access to optical, audio and physio services at home. I am grateful that Mum is living somewhere where I know she is being properly cared for and when I know she is safe.
The whole of my experience has helped and it benefits.
The staff at Meadowcroft care for my mum with a smile and are always happy to chat with her. They understand how anxious she has become after a series of serious falls whilst she lived alone and go out of their way to help her rebuild her confidence. They keep me up to date about any change in her health and well-being and are always happy to talk to me about her. Meadowcroft is a warm and sociable home and the staff give 100% to the residents, we are very lucky to have them in our area.
All facilities at Meadowcroft are very good except for activities, these are very poor. Most times that I visit, residents are sat in the lounge in front of the television. There doesn't seem to be any stimulation. Coffee morning has a local pop station playing music, this could be improved with music that the age group remembers ie Vera Lyn, 1940's/1950's music, videos of old films or musicals.
