View Full Details of Spencer CourtI cannot fault the care given to Mum in her final year. She wasn't one to socialise as her mobility, sight loss and hearing were too much of an effort in those situations. She enjoyed the one-to-one visits from all the carers and staff, forming close relationships with many. The home did feel understaffed at times, difficult to take Mum out in the wheelchair as easily as initially expected.
Dad had been made to feel really welcome as the carers are kind, friendly and efficient. He has been treated with dignity and patience. He has enjoyed the food and his room is light and airy with a lovely view over the garden. The management and admin staff have been brilliant and gone the extra mile to help with Dad's care.
The service and care received are excellent. From the care home manager down, everyone has been so supportive and welcoming. My mother has gone from being fearful and anxious to completely settled in just a few weeks, amazing!
I feel so lucky to be here. The manager and all the staff, each and every one of them are so kind, so lovely and work so hard to look after us. I couldn't wish for a nicer place to be. I feel it really is my special home.
My husband has been in Spencer Court for slightly under two weeks. The care he has received in this short time has been kind, helpful and very understanding as he can get confused which distresses him. The staff help him with his daily needs and I am pleased and comforted to know this. Thank you all.
My mum entered an end-of-life path earlier this year and was fortunate to be able to see out her days at Spencer Court. The medical, care and emotional support from all the staff was exceptional. At a sad time, this brought me great comfort and relief. The whole situation could not have been handled any better. Thank you to everyone.
Spencer Court is such a wonderful place! It is clean, secure, well laid out and has a lovely garden. The rooms are a good size and en-suite and the food is excellent. It is, however, the staff who make it so special from the manager to all the carers and staff who help out. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. My mother-in-law has settled in well and is really happy.
Granny was treated with compassion and love by the staff, they were like an extended family at the end. We as visitors were shown so much compassion in her final days. The staff went above and beyond for all of us. Thank you, staff!
You looked after Granny with care and humour when dementia came in and out. The facilities are great and I would not hesitate to recommend this care home for anyone in a similar position.
Despite my mother's negativity we as a family all agree that the care given goes above and beyond. We know through experience that Mum is a very challenging resident.
Lovely cheese and wine event to meet staff and other residents' families - all enjoyed it. Very good food and drink, excellent speeches by staff. Informal atmosphere made it inclusive for all. Great event.
My mother has been at Spencer Court now for almost one year (18th April). My mother has received excellent care. The support and care my mother has received has been exceptional. It is a clean, warm and welcoming home with wonderful staff. As she has dementia, I would like to receive individual feedback on a regular basis (with regard to her personal care, spirit activity etc.). I feel happy that my mother is safe and well looked after.
A professional team of carers that have a great rapport with all residents and families. If only all care homes could be as good as Spencer Court!
I had already received positive feedback about Spencer Court before both myself, my husband and two sons visited. We were impressed with the friendly way we were shown around. Both sons felt reassured as they live in Australia that if a room was offered, he would be safe and well looked after. My husband has been at Spencer Court now approximately 3 weeks and although is struggling to settle after leaving our home, the care has been wonderful. I am feeling so supported also as having been married for over 60 years, this is a great change for us both. The kindness I have encountered from many at the home has been wonderful. There is great team to reach this level of care.
Couldn't be happier with the care my mum is receiving here. It's been a rocky start for her and for us but we certainly chose the right care home for her. Thank you all so much.
I feel the lovely homely atmosphere each time I visit the home, which is often about four times a week. Always some form of entertainment going on for the residents to join in with if they want to. I'm sure the homeliness is due to the staff's attitude and patience. I know I will become a resident here, and when that time comes, I will feel like I'm just moving house into my new home. The staff are excellent at keeping us informed.
I am always impressed by the activities for residents, the warm and clean environment and the friendliness and inclusivity of the staff. Spencer Court is by far the best care home of the half dozen or so I am familiar with. They care for each other and work as a team, with a strong focus on wellbeing.
This is such a fantastic care home. My mum is adored by the staff. The staff go above and beyond and genuinely care for the residents. The volunteers are also amazing. There is a great range of activities tailored to suit all needs. Trips out on the minibus mean so much to my mum. Thank you so much, Spence Court staff!
It is such a pleasure to know that Mum is happy here. Everyone involved at the home is wonderful, and nothing is too much trouble. In my opinion, one of the top care homes in the area.
Fun bazaar at the home - me and family enjoyed it, aged 1 - 93! Residents particularly happy.
