View Full Details of St Edmund'sThe care my mum received was outstanding, she felt safe and cosy in her room and nothing was too much trouble. I would willingly recommend St Edmund's Care Home.
All the staff are so caring and everybody is well looked after. You could not wish for a better care home.
I have been hugely impressed with the quality of care given to my very elderly sister, who was a resident for over three years. Most important have been the compassion, kindness, and love shown not only to residents but also to family members. There has never been a sense of rush or hurry; staff have always had time to talk. Support staff create artworks and crafts that make the building cheerful and homely. Added to this is a high level of technical skill: my sister was largely bedridden when at St Edmunds, but never developed bedsores, and had no infections beyond chest infections. Two months ago my sister had to be hospitalised and St Edmund's could have refused to take her back, since she now needed nursing care and was clearly in her last days. But they wanted her back, "She should be with us, she knows our voices." With the help of district nurses, St Edmund's made these last days cheerful and comfortable. I cannot thank them enough.
When Mum lost her second husband and was left unsupported, I brought her from Essex to Norfolk where she was placed in the care of St Edmund's Care Home. For over two years she was given more love, care and support from the amazing staff than she could ever have expected. She was safe, warm and enjoyed the activities and entertainment provided. On my visits, she would often thank me for arranging her placement and tell me how happy she was. This was a real testament to the service provided by the management and staff. Her time spent as a resident was a comforting experience for all concerned. Well done and thank you St Edmund's.
Dad was treated with so much care and dignity - it was like he was the only patient there and we were made very welcome when we visited and were kept constantly up to date by phone. Beautiful place, excellent service provided by management and staff alike. Thank you all.
The managers and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The home was very clean, tidy, nicely decorated and warm. My mother enjoyed her stay for two weeks of respite care, she enjoyed the food and said she was well looked after. We were made very welcome by everyone when we visited. The other residents we met seemed very happy and positive.
My mum had been at St Edmund's for nearly three years. The management have been very supportive and caring, not just to Mum but to the whole family. The staff were amazing with Mum, very kind, found time to talk about Mum's life and seemed genuinely interested. Now Mum has gone I hope to keep in touch with the home.
My mother went to St Edmunds in October 2021, at the height of COVID restrictions. We were all concerned but had no need to be. From then until she passed away in July 2023, the staff made every effort they could to care for her. They all treated her with kindness, respect, dignity and a lot of love. They showed the same level of care towards all her family. Whenever she was ill or upset, the doctor was informed immediately and someone came to see her. I would recommend St Edmunds to anyone they are a truly remarkable set of caring people. Our love and thanks go to them all.
St Edmund's has been outstanding in the care of my aunt. The staff are all dedicated, caring and compassionate individuals. They contacted me whenever there were no problems and were always very polite and patient. The managers are outstanding, and I would recommend St Edmunds to anyone.
Very good.
My mother stayed in St Edmund's for two weeks of respite care. During that time, she was well looked after, always clean and tidy. She was encouraged to mix with other residents and join them for lunch, even though she was only there for a short time. The staff were helpful and patient with someone who initially found it difficult to adjust to residential care. She received excellent care, and I had no concerns that she was not being looked after. She left after two weeks in a much better state of health than when she arrived. The home is light, bright and cheerful, with a number of different areas for residents and guests to use. Guests were made welcome at all times. The only downside from my perspective was that I would have liked to be able to call her on a landline as she found the mobile very difficult to use.
The care our dad received whilst at St Edmund's was wonderful. The staff looked after him and loved him like he was a member of their own family. They were caring and helpful to all of us, from his children to grandchildren. We love them from the bottom of our hearts.
Mum has been at St Edmund's for 7-months; she says she is very comfortable there and is well taken care of. I live in the USA, and the care team have been great about keeping us informed. The manager has gone above and beyond taking time in her busy day to help Mum keep in touch with us. I have not visited the facility, but friends who have been able to go, have said the staff are wonderful and helpful, and the home is very well kept. Thank you to everyone who takes care of the residents and the facility.
My dad spent the last 7 months of his life at St Edmunds, and I cannot praise the care he received highly enough. Despite the first few months being during a period of restricted visiting due to Covid, the staff did their very best to keep us informed and to facilitate visits as best they could. Towards the end of his life, when we were able to visit more frequently, we were so impressed by the level of care and consideration he received. Every member of staff was kind, caring and gentle with my Dad. Both his physical and emotional needs were looked after. It was clear they had made the effort to get to know him and knew how to make him as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Not only did my dad receive a high level of care, so did we. We felt valued and looked after. We felt our views and concerns were given full consideration and acted upon. The care the whole team gave my dad was nothing short of superb.
My mother has just completed a fairly short stay at St Edmunds, and I would like to express my gratitude to the staff there for looking after her so well and attending to her needs. The staff were unfailingly friendly and treated her with dignity and respect while keeping her safe. So on behalf of my mother as well as from me, I would like to wish them all well and say a big thank you for all their care.
St Edmunds provided excellent care for my mother during her recent two-month placement with them. Visiting was complicated due to Covid restrictions, but the staff always went out of their way to ensure safe visits were supported. I was impressed by how much better my Mum looked after her few weeks at St Edmunds, and she tells me all staff were lovely, and that she was very well fed! Mum had some hospital appointments whilst there, and this was also well supported by staff, they even provided drinks and food to go with her in case she was delayed and missed lunch. I work full time as a registered nurse, caring is my profession, and I can reassure anyone who’s loved one may be going to St Edmunds that they will receive excellent care from dedicated and kind staff.
My mother was placed at St Edmunds temporarily after a hospital stay. This was not an easy time for her or the family, however, the members of staff acted in an extremely professional way, even during a stressful and unknown time with Covid being so prominent in society. My mother was extremely upset and to lessen the situation; she was placed in a private room. This was a distressing time for her and the family, but the management and staff went above and beyond to comfort, understand and care for my mother in such a kind and professional way, and at all times, continuing to carry out rigorous procedures to keep residents and staff safe. I, unfortunately, due to Covid, did not visit my mother here, therefore cannot comment on activities or overall home, only on the excellent care and the way in which all staff supported all of us, especially Mum during this time. I'd highly recommend this home on the basis of what I have experienced, and am so grateful this was the place chosen for her.
I would like to say what amazing staff they have there. They looked after my mum in her last months and not only made her safe and settled but also helped me knowing that she was. My mum was a character and kept them on their toes but the staff became her great friends and she liked every one of them. She even made them have a coffee with her at 2 am when she couldn't sleep. I must say nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart and I know she would too. You're all amazing.
Overall, the care my mother-in-law recieved was excellent, her requirements were demanding and time-consuming, but were always carried out in a kind and professional manner by all the staff involved in her care. She may not have always showed her gratitude, but that was due to the circumstances she was dealt with at the latter years of her life, but the family were certainly grateful to you all.
The care received by Uncle since he moved to St Edmund's has been second to none. All the staff are very caring and look after the residents to a very high standard. The activities offered are also wide-ranging and engaging for residents. Food is of good quality with an excellent choice.
