View Full Details of Meadowbank Care HomeThe management and staff are an absolute pleasure to deal with and the programme of activites for the residents that are organised are sufficiently varied to be stimulating, for all which ensures that no one is left out. All in all, it would be difficult to improve upon.
Dad was at Meadowbank for four years until his death in June 2024. He was happy and settled. His care was very good, particularly towards the end of his life, where he was treated with extreme kindness and dignity. My sister and I would thoroughly recommend Meadowbank.
My mum was accepted into Meadowbank for respite care for 5 weeks following her stay in hospital. The staff helped her settle quickly and made her feel welcome at this very traumatic and difficult time for her. The care team are all fantastic and very caring. Keep doing what you are all doing very well already.
Generally very happy with the care Dad receives. Excellent staff. Maintenance could be improved - takes a long time to get things done- repairs etc. Dad is happy and settled.
Although we're generally happy with the very good care our mother receives. There are a couple of issues that we would like to mention in this review. One is related to maintenance issues, which are not attended to in a timely manner. There was recently a problem with the TV aerial in some of the resident's rooms and it took several months to be fixed. A working TV is one of the only pleasures that mum is able to enjoy and therefore it was very frustrating that it took so long to be resolved satisfactorily. In addition, although minor the toilet roll holder in mum's bathroom has been broken for months and although reported, is still not fixed. We would also like to suggest that the TV in the lounge could be in a better position to allow residents to see it and hear it from the allocated chairs. Secondly, we understand that mum does not always get satisfactory attention during the night and sometimes feels she is an inconvenience and is rushed.
The staff at the care home take time to understand the needs of the individual service users and are caring and considerate towards them. A variety of activities are arranged during the day which is encouraging and makes for a good atmosphere. The staff are always very welcoming and helpful and provide entertainment on days of note, to which we are happily invited.
The standard of care at Meadowbank Care Home is exceptional. My dad has been here for six months and is very happy and well looked after. The staff are lovely and clearly enjoy their job. Staff turnover os very low. The home has a lovely, family atmosphere and staff arrange so many different activities. The excellent support from the local GP is also worthy of a mention. No daughter wants to put their dad into residential care but Meadowbank has provided Dad with a good, alternative home.
A small, personal residential home which gives a much more homely feel. All staff always give relatives visiting a warm welcome. A choice of activities available for those wishing to participate and encouraged for social contact. Food is rather plain, lacking seasoning. Much nicer environment than large, "corporate" homes.
My wife's mother spent over four years at Meadowbank and because of the fantastic care she received I was very happy for my mum to go there. Meadowbank staff provide a lovely atmosphere for the residents and I would thoroughly recommend them for anyone needing to find a care home for a relative.
My mother has been in Meadowbank Care Home for four and a half years. She has been very happy. The manager and staff are exceptionally good at their jobs, giving the residents time and great care. My mother became ill and was treated with respect. I was also given support through the difficult time. I can't thank them enough.
Our mum and dad lived at Meadowbank over an eight-year period until they passed away. The staff and home could not have been more accommodating, kind and loving. Not the easiest of residents, they were always treated with respect and care. We were so happy for them to be there, especially under an excellent manager. Thank you all for all you did for them right up to the end.
Both my mother and father were residents at Meadowbank Care Home for over 7 years. The love and care that they received during that time was amazing. I was always concerned we had done the right thing by putting them into a care home, but my fears were put to rest by the daily care, love, patience and attention to their well being both physical and emotional and respectful of their personal values and beliefs. The management team's care of the residents was an example and was embraced by the care team who took time to get to know my parents personally and meet their needs. Eventually, my father and then my mother passed away at the home, and the care for them in their final days was so tender and caring and respectful. The love and support that the whole team at Meadowbank showed to our family during those days was filled with tenderness and we could tell that the loss was shared by everyone at the care home who had got to know and love them over the years they had been there. Thank you.
The home is very welcoming and caring. They are careful to check visitors are COVID free and work with families to care for residents. They are happy to support residents who are struggling to adapt to their new circumstances.
Our mother requested to go to a care home, the family checked 3 and we decided on Meadowbank. Mum was here 9 years and 3 months, the care was amazing. Every member of staff I observed and met was 100% engaged in the role of caring. It was humbling to see, time and time again. The food was excellent, the atmosphere from the top down, I can't describe how pleased I was from day one until the end. Super.
My mother moved into Meadowbank after a stay in hospital, she had become very frail and dependent. Being a small care home, all the staff knew each resident's needs well, the home was like a big family with plenty of daily activities. It is very cosy, like home from home. Her room was on the ground floor and had a nice garden view with plenty of light. The staff were very friendly and passionate about their work and loving to their residents and always very welcoming to visitors. They would give good updates by phone and on visits, this was very reassuring. Highly recommended.
I have a very high opinion of Meadowbank care home and a very high opinion of the staff. The staff are welcoming and friendly. I experienced them as being extremely kind, caring and attentive towards the residents. I experienced them as being careful, professional and appropriate towards the residents. I also experienced them as being very pleasant and kind and gentle and caring in their manner and way of working with the residents. I also see them as genuinely wanting to give the residents a very good time and an enjoyable experience and wanting to give the residents a variety and pleasure and joy while living at Meadowbank. I have an extremely high opinion of the care home and the staff working there. My best wishes to all the staff and all the residents and Meadowbank.
The staff are wonderful and have helped me and been a great comfort to me since I came here to live and are very friendly.
I find the staff very helpful and enjoy the activities. I like my bedroom as it overlooks the gardens.
My mother has been in Meadowbank for seven years and throughout that time I have been consistently impressed with the individualism standards of care. She is always treated with respect although at times she does not treat the staff that way.
We have been residents since April 2018, were made welcome and the fact that we are experienced nurses was acknowledged. We have always experienced courtesy and understanding and our accommodation is kept tidy and clean. In my previous experience, I inspected nursing homes and find Meadowbank to be excellent and would not be happy to be obliged to find alternative accommodation. The staff are cheerful and considerate.
