We are very pleased with the standard of care that is given at Ford House. Whilst it may not look like a five-star hotel from the outside, the care and compassion is definitely five-star. The home has risen to the many challenges my brother has presented with professionalism and compassionate care.
Despite my father only being here for a short space of time. I found the staff to be very professional and caring. The current level of support and understanding was always given. I would highly recommend Ford House to anybody wanting a calm and dignified time to see out their years.
My father was in Ford House for 5/6 weeks before his passing. I will never forget the kind caring warmth of all the staff there. They certainly went above and beyond to ensure I got quality time with my father which I will never forget. I felt such relief knowing that my father was being well cared for. The food choices was excellent and would always ensure my father got his favourites. My Father's personal care was to a very high standard, he always looked clean. His room was spotless. The manager was amazing enabling me and my father during exceptional times to be together. She is easy to communicate with and very knowledgeable always there to help. I will never forget Ford House, it really is a special home.
My 96-year-old father spent the last 10 months of his life in Ford House. It is never easy to give up your home but his health was such that he needed to be looked after. The kindness, consideration and thoughtfulness was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. All of staff are willing to go the extra mile for the residents. As a frequent visitor, the home was spotlessly clean always a happy atmosphere. Plenty going on for the residents if they wanted to take part in activities. The food was freshly prepared and always presented well. Thank you for looking after my father.
My mum lived at Ford House in the last few months of her life and was very poorly with cancer and vascular dementia. The care she received in this time was exceptional, kind, attentive and warm. I found the team really approachable and welcomed visits at any time at all. The service manager is knowledgeable and caring and I felt reassured that Mum was in safe hands. Staff are sensitive to the feelings of family and include you in as many decisions as possible, always make time to chat and offer tea. The carers made those last days as comfortable and enjoyable for mum as possible and supported her to start painting and drawing again. It was incredibly moving to see her quality of life being enhanced this way. The home itself is comfy and homely with a beautiful garden and lots of additional activities and therapies on offer. It has been six months since Mum passed which has given me time to reflect and process and I can honestly say how happy I am that we found her Ford House.
At the end of 2018 beginning of 2019, my mother aged 90 and suffering with dementia was admitted to hospital with pneumonia. She was discharged into Ford House, very frail and not expected to survive for more than a few weeks. Due to the excellent care provided, the skill and attitude of all the staff, she actually lasted for nearly a year and was kept comfortable and happy during this time.
My mother received end of life care at Ford House at the end of 2019. The standard of nursing and personal care provided was first class, enabling her to experience a pain-free, calm and dignified end. The levels of kindness, sympathy and support shown, both to my mother and the family, by all the staff at Ford House were exemplary.
The staff at Ford House provided wonderful care for my aunt for over 3 years. She was very happy and contented in the home and often commented on how lucky she was to be there. The last few weeks of her life were very difficult for everybody concerned but all of the staff were truly magnificent.
Although my father was only in Ford House for 5 weeks, the care and attention he received meant that the last few weeks of his life were as comfortable as possible. The staff's attentiveness made us confident that he was happy and relaxed.
The staff know residents well and have a high standard of care. They have worked very hard together with the local GP to address her complex needs. Her overall health has improved greatly since she moved to Ford House. Some facilities/design/layout is dated, but more than made up by the high level of care she receives. There is a very "homely" atmosphere.
We were very pleased that Dad was able to call this his home for the final eleven months of his life. He settled in very quickly and enjoyed the company of other residents and the staff. We found that Dad was treated with respect, great care and friendliness by all staff at every level. There was a range of interesting and stimulating activities and events provided throughout the year which family members were encouraged to attend. Dad particularly enjoyed the food. As a family, we could not have made a better choice
First impressions were good. It was very clean. The room seemed brand new with great ensuite toilet and shower. The staff were helpful and seemed attentive. Will update later but for now, I'm happy my mother is at Ford House.
Our mum has been at Ford House for a year this month, and I would like to say that ALL the staff at Ford House have been nothing short of amazing throughout her time with them. They are caring, considerate, helpful and respectful. They have been wonderful with mum, nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend this Care Home unreservedly to anyone who was looking for somewhere for a loved one, safe in the knowledge that they will be well looked after and treated as an individual, with respect and dignity. Thank you to the manager, and your wonderful team.
