View Full Details of Clifton Manor Nursing HomeMy mother entered Clifton Manor Nursing Home in June 2023, with chronic dementia, osteoarthritis, ischaemic heart disease, and acute kidney disease. The staff have been absolutely brilliant, showing huge compassion and love as well as great skill. She was admitted to QMC with pneumonia 2 weeks ago, and when it became clear that the drugs were not going to work, the staff at Clifton Manor asked for her to be returned to the home so that she could be looked after by them for her last days. She passed away last week, and the staff could not have done more for her. Many of the staff have worked there for years and show incredible understanding of the needs of dementia patients: my mother could not have been an easy person to look after, but I can honestly say that they made her final year a very happy one. It does feel like a family. Thank you all very much!
I can’t thank the staff at Clifton Manor Nursing Home enough for the love, care, compassion, dignity and support they gave to my granddad who had been in their care for 2 years plus. The staff from management, receptionist and nursing staff go above and beyond not only for their residents but for the families too. My granddad was put on end-of-life and I can’t express enough how comforting it was with the support of the staff there, he sadly passed away with me and other family by his side in the care of Clifton Manor Staff and I wouldn’t change anything. As much as I will miss him, I will miss the staff too as they made me feel like family. Thank you all so much.
My dad was in this nursing home for 2.5 years until his death there in January 2024. He was cared for by skilled and compassionate staff, who understood the challenges of his condition. As a family, we felt supported to make decisions concerning Dad's care and were kept fully informed. All staff were friendly and approachable, from the manager, receptionist, nursing staff, and care staff to the housekeeping team. All of whom played an important role in Dad’s care and day-to-day life. When choosing a care home for your loved one, the most important aspect is the staff themselves and the care values instilled by the management. Clifton Manor Nursing Home seems to care for its staff as much as its residents, with many of the staff being with the home for a long time. When the time came, Dad’s end-of-life care was excellent, including the support to us as a family.
My mum was only in the home for ten days, but from day one she was treated with love, respect and received excellent care from all members of staff. Every time family visited, especially my dad, we were warmly welcomed and really looked after with food and drinks and nothing was too much trouble. When my mum sadly passed, the staff were so caring and respectful. We will always cherish our last days with our lovely mum because Clifton Manor made them so special.
My mummy went into Clifton Manor and straight away they made Mummy very comfortable, they couldn't do enough for my mummy and all the family. They never stopped, from the manager, all the carers, receptionists, laundry people. We really appreciate all the hard work they did for my mummy and we as a family said they are part of our family now.
When Nana went into their care last week, they were absolutely brilliant, making sure she was kept clean, fed, changed. Nothing we asked was too much, they made sure we were fed and hydrated, they always came in to check on us and our nana. We fully appreciate all staff here and they were very respectful when she passed away this morning. Our family cannot thank you enough. Your staff are so caring. Thank you to one staff member in particular and the manager for looking after us all. We would highly recommend this care home out of others we have experienced in the area. We can’t thank you enough.
My aunty was admitted from hospital as a fast track patient, and expectedly became end of life. She spent nearly 6 weeks in this home before passing away. I would highly recommend them. The care, professionalism, dedication, empathy, dignity, respect and compassion delivered by the staff was simply second to none. Thanks to two staff members who were so incredibly supportive, there for all the family too, ensuring we were kept informed and updated throughout. The nurse on shift her last 2 nights, was exceptional. What a fantastic team, so friendly and welcoming, from the care workers, domestics, receptionist and absolutely everyone involved, made a very upsetting/traumatic situation more bearable. The room was kept clean, the food looked delicious, thanks to the chef too, though we never met. As a family, we were so reassured, I do not have the words to convey our sincere heartfelt thanks for everything they did for both her and us.
My mum came to the nursing home for end of life care, the staff were all great. They cared for my mum with the utmost dignity even in death they spoke to my mum when entering her room. Sadly my mum spent 2 days there before she lost her battle, but I wouldn't change a thing in getting mum to the home. She was able to pass away in comfort and non-clinical surroundings. Thank you to all who played a part in her care.
Moving Mum into a nursing home for end-of-life care was, naturally an upsetting time for both Mum and the family but due to the professionalism, friendliness, care, compassion and love of all the staff Mum soon settled in and the family's minds put at rest. The room was perfect for Mum's needs, always kept clean and tidy by the staff and a high level of personalisation was permitted, indeed encouraged. Visitors, whether family or friends were always made to feel especially welcome and the staff quickly became friends, nothing was too much trouble for them, whether it was catering for Mum's needs or looking after visitors. That high level of care continued 24/7 until Mum's passing and staff support for the family continued afterwards. I find it hard to imagine a better place for Mum to have ended her days outside of her own home. Thank you so much to all the staff for going the extra mile for us all.
My dad has been here now since January and he absolutely loves it. He has mixed dementia and Alzheimer's as well as being a stroke victim. I couldn't ask for him to be in a better place! My dad can be very stubborn and set in his ways but the nurses and carers most certainly cater to his needs and know how to speak to him and they try to keep his mind stimulated as much as possible. Each time I visit, his vocabulary has shown huge signs of improvement and some elements of his memory come flooding back. He loves music so they make sure he has access to this, he is also more mobile and interactive with other residents. I couldn't praise the home enough, they really are like one big family and I feel comfortable and confident to be able to leave my dad in their care, unlike previous care homes he has been in. Thank you, it really is appreciated.
Well, what can I say, it's so hard to put into words the high standards of care, dignity, respect, compassion and love given to Mum by every member of staff that came into contact with Mum. They made her feel at home from day one. When Mum moved in, Mum became settled very quickly and found all the staff comforting and reassuring, they made it her home, her safe place with safe people showing Mum so much more than just "care". That high level of care was consistent day and night, right until Mum's last breath. And continued to support me and the family after Mum passed away. Just want to say thank you to the Clifton Manor Nursing Home manager, head of care, day/night nurses, day care staff, cleaners and laundry staff and the chef. You are all absolutely, truly amazing. You are all something special and I could not have asked for a better care home for Mum. My only regret is that I just wish I chose this care home from the start.
An outstanding care home is very much based on the individual needs of the residents a calm and pleasant environment with exceptional staff that engage with all of the residents providing excellent care. The care team are never too busy to help with any concerns I may have in regard to my relative and leave me with the confidence to know that they are in a safe environment with all of their specific and sometimes challenging needs met.
I would like to thank all the staff at Clifton Manor Nursing Home for their great work and patience in looking after our mum for the last 4 years. They all did a fantastic job, thank you from her son.
Clifton Manor is a lovely place with great management and fantastic staff who always make you feel welcome. I leave knowing my mother is being treated like a human being rather than just a name or number - a brilliant place!
I would like to thank all the amazing staff that cared for my mum during her end of life care. You went above and beyond and let us spend precious time with her, we as a family will never forget your kindness. I would highly recommend this nursing home 100%.
I would like to thank the amazing staff that cared for my mother especially in the last eighteen months, you went above and beyond your duties to care for the residents in such difficult times. The care and attention you gave my mum is greatly appreciated and you made our family feel at ease knowing she had the right care and love she deserved thank you.
From the moment my sister and I walked through the door we knew this was the right place for our mum, the welcome we got and the atmosphere was lovely and friendly and the staff became Mum’s second family, they all loved her as if she was there own mum and kept us well informed of Mum’s care, we cannot thank them enough for what they did for her.
My mum moved here in June 2018 and I can not thank them enough for the love and care they gave to her. From the first day she moved in and until the end. They looked after her like she was their mum! Also making us feel welcome and keeping us well informed about Mum’s health and wellbeing.
My mother aged 93, was discharged from hospital into end-of-life care and needed to be on oxygen. The Hospital were reluctant to send her to a nursing home insisting on returning her to a care home. The manager at Clifton Manor Nursing Home was extremely helpful to me and also spoke with the hospital registrar to arrange for my mother to be transferred to Clifton Manor Nursing Home at Clifton where she received excellent care for the remaining days of her life.
The care of my brother and support given to our family was second to none. The staff often went above and beyond their duties.
