View Full Details of Moorgate CroftMy mum has been a resident of Moorgate Court for nearly one year. The care she has received has been outstanding. Cast staff are attentive and always make sure residents have a drink. Staff all and treat residents with respect. Mum has had a couple of medical issues recently. She got seen and treated quickly due to the diligence of the staff and management. I know Mum is looked after very well and she appears to be happy.
My auntie came into the home in April and has made massive improvements physically and mentally. The home is so welcoming the staff are lovely and very professional at all times. The manager is amazing, she has supported and made the transition for my aunty so much easier to stay in the home and be happier.
My mum-in-law has settled into her new life at Moorgate Croft lovely. The staff are so caring and considerate of her needs. A lot of activities are organised which I know she enjoys very much. She also enjoys occasional outings. She tells us that meals are very good and I can see that her health and well-being have improved. Family visits are welcomed at any time and all staff are very friendly. Lovely atmosphere throughout the home.
After brief spells of respite, my sister made Moorgate Croft her permanent home in 2020. It was all due to her father's illness and shortly after the pandemic in 2020 that it became clear that my sister needed 24/7 care! She is very happy here, adores all the staff who under the expert management of the manager show my sister the love that she deserves.
Overall I think that Moorgate Croft is a caring and welcoming home. My relative appears comfortable and happy. I am always informed of anything untoward that happens and am involved in her care. I have one concern regarding my relatives' clothing. I understand that there must be mounds of laundry from the residents but despite putting names on absolutely everything, clothes seem to go missing. This is very frustrating when I find her in clothes that are not hers, of course, there is the money that I have spent. Other than that I am happy with her care.
I find my daughter has come on fantastic since she has been here. They have done so many things now that she wasn't able to do before. She loves it in the home. She loves all the staff.
Brilliant management and staff. Always friendly and caring.
My mum has been living at Moorgate Croft for 4 weeks. My mum has Alzheimer's. I went to visit the home and a week later my mum had moved in. Myself and family are very impressed and satisfied with the home and the care my mum is receiving. The manager is so kind, friendly and professional and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I can't thank them enough. To know that my mum is safe and cared for takes an enormous amount of pressure off us as a family. I would just like to see more of an activity programme taking place.
My uncle has lived in Moorgate Croft for 8 years now and we have had a few issues in this time. He has changed rooms now to a more suitable one which meets his needs much better having a bigger ensuite able to accommodate his wheelchair. The home in general is well-maintained but from time to time due to wear things have to be replaced. The staff are friendly and helpful but more staff on duty at weekends would help a lot more with making the home feel safe and supportive.
My mum looked at a number of residential care homes before settling for Moorgate Croft. Which was head and shoulders better than any of the others she had viewed. The home manager is very professional and approachable and nothing is too much trouble. The home is spacious and the facilities are second to none. My mum is very settled at Moorgate Croft and is very satisfied with the accommodation, level of care and professionalism of staff. Also worthy of mention are the levels of cleanliness which are definitely much higher than any other home we viewed.
Cleanliness could be more thorough i.e dusting. Staffing seems to be an issue, not always available when required. Poor meal choices, not everyone can chew the meat due to ill-fitting dentures etc. Activities quite inadequate, would be prefer them to be available throughout the day rather than almost always in the afternoon. My visitors tend to visit me after lunch. Overall, I am satisfied with my stay here.
My father has only been here four weeks, he is very settled as we, as a family, were very worried about him. The whole team, from the manager, care staff, activities coordinator, cleaners, laundry, handyman and kitchen staff, are brilliant, nothing isn't too much. The activities for my dad are really good for my dad as they give him something to do throughout the week. I feel my dad is safe as the respite place before we didn't like, the Moorgate Croft is the right place for him and staff can't help enough, thanks to all the staff.
Dad moved into Moorgate Croft back in July. He had suffered a fall, and after rehabilitation, he could no longer care for himself, so he made the decision to move into permanent care. He has settled in really well into his new environment, and this has been enhanced by the professional and friendly care he receives from all the staff. Any issues or concerns we have had as a family have been dealt with promptly and satisfactorily. Dad's a bit of a loner, but thanks to the encouragement of the staff, he is beginning to become more involved in the activities put on by the home. He especially enjoys the banter and being kept up to date about the local football team with the manager. Knowing that Dad is being cared for and looked after by everyone involved gives us and the family a great sense of comfort and peace.
What a wonderful place, a clean, bright, modern and spacious residential home, my father has a huge room with an en-suite modern tiled wet room. I would liken his room to a 4 star hotel room. As a family we are slowly filling his room with his belongings, we can take in whatever we wish for his new home including having sky TV fitted if he wanted, nothing is too much trouble. As a family we are included with the decisions regarding Dad’s care, being involved with care plans etc and regularly updated with any changes. Already medication we have been waiting to get changed at his own GP practice for months has been reviewed and changed within 1 week! The staff are marvellous and most of all extremely caring, they are already aware of my dad’s liking of banter and more importantly he says the staff are really lovely and he likes it there. As a daughter, knowing and trusting someone to care for your loved ones is hard and I feel relieved that I have found the best place to do this.
My mother moved into Moorgate Croft in mid-January after years of resistance and apprehension about leaving her own home. To everyone's astonishment - including her own, she transitioned very quickly. Her room is bright, airy and now customised to her preferences. She was worried about noise, lack of privacy or not being heard as a person, but that is not the case. For me, the secret sauce of Moorgate croft is the staff - at every level from the management team, through the carers, to support personnel. I spent a significant amount of time there in the first 4 weeks and was so impressed with the level of genuine caring, seeing staff members extend themselves repeatedly to accommodate the physical or psychological well-being of residents, way beyond what might have been expected. They are insightful, funny, human and professional with good communication skills. I had my own concerns about not living locally, but feel every confidence and respect for the work that they do.
We have been visiting Moorgate Croft for a number of years. It has always seemed to be a lovely clean care home. The one grumble the residents have always had is food. We cannot say as we have not been there at meal times. But since the new manager has started, they have improved a little.
Dad moved into Moorgate Croft in December 2022. The staff have been exceptional and he has settled well. He is always treated with respect, courtesy and humour. Any issue or problem has been dealt with quickly and satisfactorily. The staff are friendly and keep me informed of any development. I would highly recommend Moorgate Croft.
We have been very happy with all involved in settling Mum into Moorgate Croft. The senior carers have been particularly helpful and took time to listen to all our need and concerns about Mum. The rooms are a good size with a walk-in ensuite and the whole home is always clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend Moorgate Croft.
Dad is now a permanent resident in the care home. The staff have supported his transition with this. We are so grateful for their support and guidance during this period. Good standard with excellent food. Staff are caring and supportive.
First impressions are good. Rooms are larger than average and have ensuite showers. There is, unfortunately, not much buzz in this home and residents mostly seem to keep to their own rooms. However, I have only been visiting for 3 months and this may be due to the continuing COVID restrictions. With firm management and an improved programme of social activities, the home could have great potential.
