View Full Details of Auburn MereI cannot praise the team highly enough, it is so reassuring to know that Mum is so well cared for with compassion, respect and dignity and she is very happy. Beautiful gardens, excellent homemade food with lots of variety and the place is spotless. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
Exceptional care and friendliness by all of the care home staff. It is a very safe environment to live in. Residents' health is looked after, especially as the care home staff are able to call on the doctors promptly, which is a huge reassurance for the relatives. The daily activities keep the residents happily occupied and social with each other. A very lovely home.
Auburn Mere continues to provide outstanding care for my mother who is quickly approaching her 96th birthday. She enjoys the twice daily 10:15hrs and 14:15hrs 'activities' arranged by the team and all staff feel more like family members rather than carers. I visit most days and know to avoid these two organised daily activity periods as my mother enjoys them all and the taking part aspect is very important to her. The gardens and the lovingly cared for hanging baskets provide the impression of a close-family home rather than a residential care home. I am delighted that my mother is in such good hands and thank all the staff for their love and kindness.
Christmas arrangements for my aunt were amazing. She is looked after with care and dignity and the staff always have her best interests at heart. A member of staff washed and styled her hair ready for the Christmas party which was even better than last year, the entertainment and the food prepared were wonderful. Wishing all the staff a happy new year.
My elderly mother moved into Auburn Mere, two months ago, after losing my father. I can not recommend them highly enough, words can not do justice as to how wonderful they have been with Mum. Every single staff member is so incredibly caring and takes time out of their busy days to keep all residents happy. Their activities are brilliant, always twice a day, which has been a great way for Mum to make new friends and keep her busy. Mum tells everyone that she can't believe how lucky she's been to get a room at Auburn Mere. I didn't think I'd ever see Mum happy again, as they'd been married for 68 years, but she is genuinely content and that is due to the wonderful support she is getting. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Mum has been lovingly cared for and treated with the utmost respect and empathy from the moment she arrived 2.5 years ago. She cannot speak highly enough of the staff and the facilities, and of how content she is in Auburn Mere. She enthuses particularly about the catering, the views from her bedroom and the beautifully kept gardens and grounds. Mum is not able to take part in many of the activities but she appreciates the joyful atmosphere. The staff speak of Mum with personal insight; it's clear that they relate to her as a friend, not a client. The senior staff keep us promptly and well informed of changes in Mum's health, and always make us welcome when we visit. The monthly newsletters keep us up-to-date with the range of activities and the comings and goings and portray what we see we visit: a happy and well-cared-for community. The senior staff's management of outbreaks of Covid, and their communication with families in those difficult times, have been exemplary.
My mother is living with dementia and can be quite challenging to support. The care they give to her is wonderful, they get to understand the residents and what additional help they need. My mum is well looked after, enjoys the food (she was and still is, very fussy) and is kept clean and safe. What more could I ask for?
The staff are all very caring and they organise activities for the residents most days of the week. The management is always available to sort out any queries or provide information. Mum has settled in very well and enjoys being at the home. The food is very good and is prepared on the premises. The rooms are comfortable and cosy and the whole building is well-kept and brightly decorated.
I always find the staff very welcoming and know me by my Christian name which is nice. The care home is inviting and has a happy environment. It is clean and the residents have nice fresh bedding and room facilities. Nothing is too much and I am never afraid to ask. The gardens are lovely and always look so pretty. The patience of the staff is incredible and they do give time to all the residents. I have recommended Auburn Mere to many people.
Our mum has lived at Auburn Mere since June 2022. She is now 94 and decided to become a resident when her mobility decreased and she realised that she could no longer live alone. She chose Auburn Mere because she used to visit her best friend who was a happy resident there and it always had a lovely atmosphere. Mum was very independent so it was difficult for her to make the decision but she settled very quickly and 18 months later, she is happy and content. The staff (many of whom have been there for years) are lovely and because it is quite a small home it feels very personal and like a big family. Family and friends are welcome to visit at any time and we have come to know many of the carers and other residents. We are so grateful that Mum is there and we don’t have to worry about her care.
Mum is very well cared for. A lot of activities within the Care Home including a lovely Fireworks & Entertainment evening. Familes & Friends were invited and made welcome and the residents all seemed to be enjoying the event. Mum very much enjoyed it!
Very happy with the care and attention given to Mum. A lovely home with helpful committed staff. Mum is very content there. Plenty of activities, bright spacious communal areas. Very welcoming and great communication with staff and management.
Staff are kind, caring and smiling and make a point of addressing residents by name around the home, and of quickly reassuring them when they are anxious or upset. It is lovely for the residents that familiar staff cover nights and weekends. There is a good range of activities run by a very experienced and kind activities leader Monday to Friday. Knitting Club is a particularly popular and relaxing/ therapeutic activity which is enjoyed by several of the residents. A recently appointed weekend activities leader is a lovely new addition to the staff. The atmosphere around the home is calm and pleasant and the bedrooms and communal areas are kept very clean and tidy. The residents look forward to their meals which are served in an attractive dining room. Many of the staff have worked at the home for many years which builds a sense of confidence in the residents and their families.
I have nothing but praise for Auburn Mere. Having placed my mum there a few weeks ago we already see a transformation in her having lived alone for 15 years. She is enjoying the company and attention along with her every need being attended to. Score. 100%.
My mother needed to go into residential care unexpectedly in April of this year due to Alzheimer's progression. We were all scared of the outcome of this but need not have been. My mother was at ease in Auburn Mere immediately and in fact, her health improved by her having 24-hour care. The staff at Auburn Mere are second to none, I cannot fault their compassion care and commitment to my mother's needs.
Mum has been a resident at Auburn Mere for 3 years. She is well looked after, the staff are very kind and are considerate of all her needs and they organise many activities throughout the year to stimulate the residents. It is a relatively small care home which makes it feel more cosy and family orientated. I have peace of mind knowing she is safe, warm, well-fed with nutritious meals and has visitors and people to talk to every day. All of which she was unable to have when living on her own, many miles from me.
My mum has been a resident at Auburn Mere for over a year now and loves it. She said "I want to be looked after"; and she certainly is. The staff are caring and professional, the food is second to none, and the gardens are lovingly kept. When Mum needed hospital treatment the staff were really good, taking her in and sitting with her, making sure she went in (and came home) with her glasses, hearing aid and toiletries. I would definitely recommend Auburn Mere to anyone needing residential care.
Our mum receives excellent care at Auburn Mere and refers to everyone there as her friends. I like the fact that when I arrive at the home to visit Mum, staff immediately let me know how she's doing that day and where I can find her. All the carers are exceptionally kind and always provide whatever help or encouragement Mum needs. If Mum needs to see a GP, staff make arrangements promptly and are good at keeping us informed. Mum's room is kept clean and tidy too. There is a happy atmosphere at Auburn Mere which enhances everyone's wellbeing.
My father initially attended weekly activity days at Auburn Mere. The staff always made him feel so welcome that he gradually came around to the idea of moving in. He has now been a resident since last August. He has been made to feel very much at home and he is really well cared for. Dad enjoys the food and the kitchen are always happy to make alternative meals for him. We have been able to make his room homely with photos and furniture etc from home. Dad truly thinks all the staff are amazing. He is not one to join in all the activities but he is always encouraged to do so, or if in his room he is always checked on that he is ok. Since he has been a resident, the home has organised a Summer BBQ, Bonfire Night and Christmas Party, all of which relatives have been invited to. We visit regularly and are always made to feel so welcome, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. I would have no hesitation recommending Auburn Mere to anyone looking for a care home for their family.
My mother has lived at Auburn Mere for four years, having decided to move there permanently because she so enjoyed the daycare she received there. She is now very frail and not able to do much, but the staff are endlessly patient and creative in including her in Auburn Mere's life. It's quite moving to see how Auburn Mere has found new things for her to enjoy. She loves arts and crafts, relishes the fabulous food, and flourishes in the loving care she receives. As much as a setting like this can be, it really is a home-from-home.
