View Full Details of The MeadMy husband was admitted for a D2A assessment prior to seeking full-time care. He was extremely well looked after and the care he received was of the highest standard. All advice from the physio and OT was carefully followed. I cannot rate The Mead more highly.
We had a very warm welcome when visiting and again when my husband went in for respite care. He was well looked after and was kept clean. I would definitely take him there again for the next respite.
The Mead care home has very caring and engaged staff. My mother was a long-term resident, from March 2024 to January 2025 and we/I found the management, supervisory and daily care workers all gave Mum a caring, safe environment in which to live. Thank you to all the staff at The Mead for looking after Mum during her stay.
My first impression of The Mead was clean and spotless and had a homely welcome vibe. I was very happy that my mother settled in so quickly. This was definitely due to the fact that the staff are so professional, happy and caring. They are a well-led team. It's so lovely that they are always checking in to see if everything is okay and if tea/coffee with biscuits is wanted and on hot days an ice lolly is offered! The Mead staff make us all feel very welcome when we visit. They give us constant updates freely. I really like the safe way medication is dispensed, a file on everyone with a photo of the resident. The grounds are beautifully kept, with a lovely garden area with plenty of seating. The washing regime is fabulous. I especially love that they put updates on social media! I love them all and think they all deserve a pay rise. Thank you from me and all the family for all your dedication.
The Mead went above and beyond to meet the needs of my husband. The leadership is calm, patient and efficient and this is filtered down to all carers and care workers. Residents feel safe and secure. Relatives are well supported too and communication is very good. The Mead is a home with a great heart and I would thoroughly recommend it.
My mum had a few weeks stay at The Mead as a temp placement. The staff I must say were caring and with a can-do attitude. From working in the care sector for a few years I found The Mead to be fully staffed with a happy feel to it every day. They had a fantastic team from medication to escorts for appointments and most care homes charge for an escort for the day. My review of The Mead is a positive one and I am very thankful of the whole team as is the family.
Over the past weeks, the activities at The Mead have become outstanding. My mum is so content and happy and it's so good to see her engaging again. The whole staff team's care for my mum is exceptional. Their dedication and love shown to Mum is heartwarming, and as a family, we are grateful beyond words. For anyone thinking of finding a care home for a loved one, The Mead is the one!
My ex has dementia, just moved into The Mead. The deputy manager and all staff made his transition comfortable and a happy one. Part vegan and vegetarian they have worked very hard to meet his religious and dietary needs. Thank you Mead.
I would just like to say that the care my mother gets at The Mead Care Home Borehamwood is exceptional she has been there for just over a year and the staff are very efficient and caring. I would recommend the Mead to anyone who needs care for a family member. They have a variety of things to do but my mother does not participate which is a shame. The food is cooked fresh and is very good.
My wife has been attending a daycare centre until it closed earlier this year. At that centre, my wife was happy, and we were saddened when it closed. We didn't expect to find another with such attentive and caring staff and management. To say that I am happy is an understatement. I have nothing but high praise for all associated with this daycare centre. I have no doubt that she will be well looked after as a resident.
Friendly staff and helpful. The decor is slightly dated/tired, but very good all in all.
Mum was transferred from another home and was welcomed to The Mead. The home is clean and the food is good. Mum received good care from all the staff who are very friendly. We got regular updates and we are informed of anything that happens at the home. We have no complaints overall.
My mother has been in The Mead for 7 years and the care, love and support shown by all the staff towards her and our family has been exceptional. They have gone above and beyond in all aspects of caring and I am totally thankful to each and every one of them.
Since my husband came to The Mead Care Home in November 2022, I have nothing but praise and thanks and admiration for all the staff. They have always been kind and understanding towards my husband and myself. I always feel able to talk to them and they are very good at making my husband laugh. Thank you all.
The staff and management were amazingly helpful during my relative's three-month stay. Nothing was a problem and staff made themselves available for advice and guidance at all times. I would highly recommend this care home and the manager's wealth of knowledge was so helpful to us, as a family. The carers showed continued kindness on a daily basis and we are truly grateful for the care provided.
Staff are pleasant, cheerful and helpful. They are very caring towards the residents. My cousin has been a resident for nearly a year now and she seems very happy and content. The admin staff always inform us in plenty of time when any events are taking place. I personally can't find faults and it is a pleasure to visit.
My father seems happy, the staff are supportive, the management team are friendly and helpful. My only problem is the cost, everything else is good and knowing he is safe is a huge bonus to me and the family.
Mum went into the Mead 11 months ago after an agonising family decision. She was no longer safe at home and we could no longer give her the care she needed. She has dementia and Alzheimers. The and her staff team are amazing. Mum is settled and well cared for. Staff are always welcoming when we visit. Mum has a pleasant room and the facilities are good. Staff are dedicated and caring and leadership is strong. Communication is good, emails and phone calls are always responded to in a timely manner. My family and I are lucky to have found the right home for Mum.
We made the difficult decision last year to put my lovely Mum into a care home having kept her at home as long as we could. The Mead have made that move far easier than it could have been. Mum has dementia and has been there for almost a year. We have got to know the staff over that time. The senior staff are always happy to chat. They act on any concerns my sisters and I have. They have become our extended family. The rest of the staff are brilliant too. Mum's key worker and the other members of staff have gained mums trust. We visit a lot and I have only ever seen patience, care and understanding from everyone. It's a tough job. I leave knowing my Mum is safe and cared for.
We visited The Mead for a garden party on Jubilee Friday. Everyone had a lovely afternoon and that was due to the lovely staff. Our Mum is coming to her final days but to see how the staff treat her and take care of our Mum is wonderful. Knowing Mum is so well cared for and knowing her time there has been safe and happy means so much to us.
