View Full Details of Cranford Care CentreMy mum was in Cranford for 3 months. Her care from the start was excellent, very attentive and caring. All the staff are amazing and go above and beyond with their care. The home is like a big hug. Great activities, including music, gardening, and pampering sessions. I would recommend the home highly to anyone. My mum was very happy and content, her room was lovely and cosy.
Cranford is a great care home that provides amazing activities for the residents. The staff are very caring and lovely. I appreciate all they do! Which is far above most care homes. I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing for a comfortable setting for their family members.
Many care homes in and around Aberdeen were visited prior to choosing Cranford as first choice. The decision made has never been regretted. The manager is exceptional, the staff and the activities co-ordinator excellent. I have total 'peace of mind' knowing that my mum's personal care, nursing care, dietary needs and social needs are all being taken care of. Approachability of staff is fantastic. A wonderful place where residents continue to feel 'at home' as well as 'in a care home'.
Cranford Care home has provided Dad with a safe, secure and homely environment since May 2022 when he had to be cared for after a fall which diminished his mobility. The carers, who are always busy, find time to tend to his needs. He enjoys the chat with them and they really look after him. We are kept updated with any issues as they occur. Recently, it was re-emphasised, by him and his family, that his bed wasn’t really long enough for him. The new manager sorted this out and he now looks forward to going to bed, knowing that he won’t be cramped up. The surroundings are warm and welcoming.
After an extensive search of nursing homes, Cranford Care Centre was our first choice. We were delighted when a room became available for Mum in December 2022. The care and friendly support from the staff at Cranford Care Centre was key, both to mum and our family, as she transitioned from living independently into the nursing home. Mum is really well cared for and enjoys the interaction she has with the staff.
Overall it was not a positive experience for our father and our family. While there are some very good carers, other lacked the necessary skills to help with stress and distress. Communication was poor and often confusing. Staffing levels have been very low with service users and their families often left waiting for 20 minutes or more for assistance. Social isolation and no meaningful activities.
My room is spacious, light and airy. The staff are very good - carers are excellent but I feel they could do with more. The food is good. The activity coordinator is very good. I would like more showers. It was meant to be every second day but it needs two carers to go to the showers.
My mum was a resident for several months at the end of her life. My family chose Cranford Care Centre because it had a warm, welcoming atmosphere and it didn't disappoint. The staff were always friendly and considerate not just to Mum but also to Dad who visited on a regular basis (Covid permitting). The staff were caring and my mum seemed to enjoy interacting with them. Mum also made a few new friends and we are so pleased we picked Cranford!
I have had a lovely time here, meeting new friends and staff. It feels like a five-star hotel to me! My family are very happy. I have settled in quickly - the food is very good and I love the hairdresser every week on a Friday. Can't wait until the entertainment starts.
Was pleased with initial visit to Cranford home. First impression had given me a good feeling with what to expect. Management are kind and helpful. The staff are pleasant and always made welcome when visiting family. There is a positive feel for this pace, and staff do show they care for the residents in Cranford.
After initially adapting to a new environment my mother has settled in well and now enjoys a significantly enhanced quality of life. She praises all the staff and facilities!
My wife was a resident for just over four years until April this year. She went in first after hospitalization and aftercare. Before she left hospital, we were told to prepare ourselves for her passing. Within her first year in Cranford Care Centre she was much improved physically and quite alert. She had a nice room and use of the sitting room. She was always well cared for; the staff being caring and attentive at all times. We were always informed of any minor dips in her health or minor injuries etc. If changing the way something was done or if acquiring e.g. a new chair was thought worth trying it would be tried. We got on well with staff when we visited and were kept up to date with any happenings. Her medical care was thorough, in conjunction with the medical practice, and was changed if required. Reviews were held twice annually, by shared phone calls during lockdown. In any like situation, nothing can be 100% but there is nothing specific I would feel the need to complain of.
What a lovely visit with my uncle, we were able to meet in the garden. I am so happy to see him doing well and he tells me the staff have been so kind and speaks warmly of his home. A huge heartfelt thank you to you all for the job you are doing. You know we appreciate each and every one of you.
I am extremely impressed with the level of care and the staff. The staff are lovely and always happy to help. The care home itself is lovely and in a lovely area. My dad gets on very well with the staff and I am happy to leave him in their care.
First time seeing my nana for over a year and we had the most wonderful visit. The home have made such an effort to make the outdoor areas so lovely. My nana is doing so well and the staff are lovely. A big thank you for all your hard work.
After not being able to see my great-grandma for a year, seeing her felt like Christmas and my birthday all in one. I can’t believe the change in my great-grandma, she’s looking amazing and I can only thank the staff for looking after her as well as they do. The measures they have in place to make sure they are looked after, it’s amazing. There’s always a high about Cranford Care Centre where the staff make it the home it is. I can’t thank you all enough for what you all do.
My mother settled well into Cranford and is very happy there. She often comments on how kind and caring the staff are and I have found this to be true. They are very friendly and welcoming and always ready for a smile or a joke with my Mum. Before the pandemic, there was a variety of activities each day and special events from time to time e.g. Christmas, Burns Night, Easter etc. There are few changes of staff and that has helped my mother and the family to get to know the carers. I think this is very important as it allows relationships to develop. The past year has, of course, been very difficult for everyone but the staff have tried to make sure that we have been able to stay in contact with phone calls, Facetime calls, Facebook posts and indoor/outdoor visits when allowed. The staff are very well led by the manager who regularly communicates with families in an open and honest way. I feel that I can discuss any concerns with her and that they will be acted upon.
My mum has been a resident for nearly two years. The staff are providing excellent care. They are always very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Cranford Care Home staff provide a safe, secure and nurturing environment for all their residents. My mum settled very quickly ad seems to be happy and content.
My mum is extremely well looked after by a very caring team at Cranford. I would like to say a big thank you to you all for keeping the residents' spirits up in what has been a challenging year. When indoor visits had to be suspended, due to the lockdown, we were able to stay in touch with a phone call or FaceTime. I have now been lucky enough to visit Mum indoors again and am so grateful to the staff for their assistance with these visits which are very organised. It is so good to be back in Cranford and I look forward to a visit in the summer house when the weather is warmer. Thank you
My mum moved into Cranford Care Centre on February 2020. On Mother’s Day March 2020, it sadly closed its door to visitors, to keep residents safe. We were in a pandemic as Covid had arrived. With regular video calls every week, I have kept in contact with my mum. Every time I see my mum she looks very happy and always smiling into the carers face - what more could you ask for. Seeing Mum so happy and looked after when I can’t get to visit her, is so comforting. Now I am looking forward to visiting my mum next week and can’t wait to see her. The team at Cranford have done an excellent job keeping all the residents safe and happy. Thank you all.
