Lovely and patient staff. Very accommodating. My grandma was very pleased when she first came. The Activities Coordinator provides the residents with lovely activities that keep them active and entertained. Overall lovely establishment. I would 100% recommend this home to anybody looking for one. The staff keep everyone looking up to par and I'm always happy with the outfits they put my grandma in and how comfortable she looks in her clothes. You can tell they make sure that their residents are as happy as they can possibly be.
Mum was in Eliza House for just over 3 years, having originally gone there for respite care. I would like to express my gratefulness to all the staff that looked after her there. She was treated kindly and everyone always had time to talk to the family if we had any questions. Mum particularly enjoyed the baking activities on a Friday and the trips out and about.
My mum, was placed at Eliza House from July to December. From day one she was well looked after, and made to feel welcome. All the staff are very friendly and caring, and made the decision to place mum in to the home easier to bear. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the staff, and thank them for all the kindness they have shown our family and mum.
Mum a resident for 2.5 years. Has Alzheimer's. She's always treated with respect by the carers and even though awkward and moody, they know how to coax her into doing activities like cake making, crafts and day trips etc. Regular updates given to me on: how she has been; whether they have had to call in a doctor; and also how they could decorate her room with family photos. They also regularly check with me on what food she likes/dislikes and what I recommend they cook for her. During visits she always says that the food is good and she is being looked after well. Yesterday was her 89th birthday - they provided tea, birthday cake, and chocolates for all the residents who sang happy birthday to her and her favourite film 'The Quiet Man' was playing. After looking after my mum for 4 years on my own - I can see that she is in a better place with people who are compassionate and have much more patience than I ever did with her and that she is looked after which gives me much comfort.
My dear friend has been a resident at this care home for the past two years and has been receiving an excellent level of care, she's well looked after, participates in activities and is eating and sleeping well. The members of staff are always very positive and helpful and I get weekly phone calls with updates.
My husband was at Eliza House for 4 weeks on a respite placement. He has advanced dementia. He is a difficult person to care for because he has lost his verbal skills, is mobile but prone to falls and in many ways physically strong. I have nothing but praise for the staff at Eliza House. Everyone I met on my frequent visits was positive and caring with a ‘can do’ attitude. I appreciated the respite more than anyone can imagine and felt confident that my husband was well cared for while I needed a break. Thanks to all staff.
