View Full Details of Eston Lodge Care HomeOutstanding care was provided by all staff at Eston Lodge for my mum when she needed 24-hour essential respite care. The team is run very efficiently by the lovely Manager, who overlooked every aspect of my mum's stay, ensuring all medical appointments were attended and all medical professionals appropriately briefed where necessary. All the care staff went above and beyond to ensure my mum was happy and comfortable at all times. Her meals were consistent, and fully nutritional with a wide variety/selection and the chef made sure she got to know each and every resident well. I couldn't have asked for better short-term care for my mum at the time she needed it most. Would highly recommend this home for your loved ones. It's clean, professionally run, warm and welcoming. With a team that is always smiling. Thank you so much for such an excellent service.
My husband came to Eston Lodge Care Home for a two-week stay when he left the hospital after having had a stroke. The care he received at Eston Lodge was excellent and the staff were kind, considerate and diligent at all times. I was very relieved that he settled so well and the wonderful care he received made his return to health much more likely. I can't thank the staff enough.
My ma's time in Eston Lodge was a nice experience even though she was not well and was transferred to hospital. The staff were friendly and helpful.
My dad was recently admitted for respite care which has turned into a permanent placement. From start to finish, the staff have been brilliant, fighting Dad's corner with both the clinical and financial issues as they've arisen. The staff have a great rapport with their residents, and we can leave after visiting knowing that he's safe and looked after.
The home is very caring the staff are really friendly, you can contact them all day. It's very clean, the food is very good. They have been really caring towards my dad, he has really settled here. I cannot thank all the staff enough for all the care they are giving my dad and I would recommend this home to all my family and friends. I would give it a 10 out 10.
My 49-year-old son had a stroke and after 3 months in hospital went to Briarwood Care Home for respite, from the moment we got there we were welcomed by the friendly staff. He has been and still is in Briarwood after 2 weeks where he has come on amazing all thanks to the wonderful staff that have cared for him in that time. The staff are caring, helpful, friendly and supportive and can not do enough (not only for my son) but the family as well and I will be forever grateful for what they do. It's home from home.
I found the care and kindness for my husband excellent, nothing was too much trouble for the staff to attend to his needs and the kindness all the staff showed me was above and beyond anything you could ask for. There were no time restrictions on how long I could stay with my husband, even overnight if I wanted to. The food was very good, thank you to the chef. I would recommend the care home, Eston 100%. Thanks to all the staff for caring for my husband.
As soon as I was let in, the atmosphere was very lovely and very positive! Staff so friendly, made you feel like you were part of the family! The lady I was visiting was happy making Christmas cards, along with other residents! All in all, a nice nursing home!
Happy, pleasant atmosphere. Staff friendly and welcoming. All my mother's needs seem to be catered for in a timely manner. Caring manager. All family were invited to a party held for her 80th Birthday, lovey food and entertainment. Definitely happy leaving her within their care, no complaints, know she is well looked after!
Friendly staff. Plenty to do.
My friend has lived at the care home for a while now, we have always found the staff friendly and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. My friend feels part of a family and the affection shown to her is second to none, she enjoys the meals and says she particularly enjoys the homemade cakes and biscuits. There is always something going on in the home when we visit and we are invited to join in. The fact that my friend is happy is enough for us. All the staff are happy to listen if we need to and the home manager is approachable as, too, is the regional manager when she is on her visits.
My Dad has been at the care home for around 2 years. He was mentally alert and bright and thoroughly enjoyed his time at the care home. All of the staff made time to show they genuinely cared, both for his physical needs and the personal interactions which were priceless. We live over 100 miles away and were 100% confident that he was getting the very best care and the staff helped to get Dad ready for our days out and always greeted us warmly as visitors and then too when Dad returned in the afternoon. At the end of Dad's life, we were very kindly allowed to stay and were treated superbly with food and drink but also given the right amount of space to be together, whilst still taking care of his every need and we experienced immense compassion and thought from absolutely everybody. Massive thank you from us all.
My father has lived happily in the care home for a couple of years, in July we were informed that Dad was end of life. The wonderful staff went above and beyond to enable us to spend Dad's last week 24/7 with him. They were so caring with him and us, making sure we were comfortable and fed which we did not expect. Plenty of emotional support, carers, cleaners, laundry, kitchen, cooks, everyone played a part. I can not thank them enough, we miss them all.
Since my husband went into the care home in January, I have found nothing but caring and kindness both not only to him but to myself when I visit most days. The staff, from management, carers, cook, etc do all they can to make you feel welcome and they do everything possible to give the best care to my husband. I am at home but I have no worries about my husband's care whilst he is in the home.
Massive improvement since change of management.
The home is friendly and warm, the staff can not do enough for my mum. She is so happy and settled.
Since the new management was brought in, the home has taken on a life of its own. The management have tried and succeeded in making the care home a safe place for your loved ones to be. The care staff are brilliant and really look after the residents.
Efficient, caring staff. Nothing too much trouble. I am very happy here.
I have found this care home to be well-run and led by competent and able staff. The staff are friendly and are happy to answer any questions that I have. The building is very secure, entry to the home is via two front doors. Digitally secure, as are lifts and stairs within the building. I am made to be very welcome when I visit, often being offered drinks and food and the staff update me on my wife's well-being, as I enter the building. Overall, a very good experience.
Not a good experience (in fact a very bad experience). My mum nearly died at the care home. She, unfortunately, passed away later in hospital. I complained and this led to a Safeguarding investigation by the local authority. My complaints were upheld and this ultimately led to a reinspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in January 2022, and a damming report by the CQC in March 2022. The CQC now rate the care home as "inadequate" and local press have reported the findings.
