View Full Details of Parkfield House Nursing HomeI have mixed feelings about Parkfield. In the main I found the staff warm & caring in their dealings with my friend, however I frequently found at weekends she was left in bed for large parts of the day or left unattended in a chair. At these times I usually found her very despondent and morose. As I said this seemed to happen at weekends. There was a period of adjustment for her following her admission to Parkfield, eventually she settled well and spoke warmly about the staff there, often commenting on their patience. She also enjoyed some of the activities.
Having had to make the decision for our mum to go here for end of life care was one of the hardest things we have had to do, however the care and support that our mum was given as well as us her family was truly amazing and we are so glad our mum was here for her final weeks, being cared for by staff that showed her nothing but kindness, empathy, compassion, respectfulness and dignity. All the staff always had time for her and for us as a family, genuinely caring people doing a job they are passionate about and this was seen and felt on a daily basis. Even the housekeeping staff were friendly, kind, caring and very respectful. Thank you to you all who cared for our mum you were all outstanding and we cannot thank you enough.
My Mum has been resident here since April, 2024. The home itself is presented beautifully, clean and comfortable and the rooms cater for everything my Mum needs. The staff are excellent, caring and kind. Varied menu. Activities vary from morning and afternoons. Overall very happy and have peace of mind Mum is being well looked after.
My Dad has been at Parkfield House Nursing home for over three years now. From the onset we have been very happy with how he is cared for. He is kept clean and has clean clothes every day. He has clean bedding daily and has a room to himself where he is allowed to make his own with photos and personal possessions. The staff are very kind and friendly to both residents and their families. Dad is happy, respected and stimulated with a range of daily activities. The dining area is pleasant and more like a restaurant with tablecloths and napkins. His diet is varied and of good quality. In the past Dad has enjoyed trips out to the farm and to Uxbridge for coffee and a tea dance, he hopes to go out again in the future. He enjoys having outside entertainment visiting the home especially the animals. We would highly recommend Parkfield House, we feel Dad is safe and well looked after.
My mum has been a resident at Parkfield House Nursing Home in Hillingdon for over a year, since March 2023. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. The activities are great and they have taken Mum outside to animal sanctuaries coffee shops etc. They went out of their way to celebrate Mum's 93rd birthday and I have seen them organise celebrations and outside entertainment for all residents. Mum gets her hair and nails done regularly - has made friends. I can visit any time - I have no hesitation in highly recommending Parkfield.
Staff are always friendly when I visit, My mother has settled in well, and is enjoying her time there. She loves the activities and is always telling me about the things they have been up to. I could not hope for a better home for my mother.
Excellent... care home staff are caring and helpful. Would highly recommend it. My father settled in well. This care home is very worthy of a 5-star rating. Great activities help residents make friends, which is very important.
I would not have placed Mum in Parkfield House if I had not been happy with their levels of care. Throughout the pandemic, they kept me informed and my mum as safe as possible. They publish a list of activities every month which include garden parties weather permitting.
From the receptionist to the carers we have found all the staff to be friendly and helpful and compassionate. From our visit to see my brother when the staff had the residents out in the front garden with the visiting pet animals we knew he was in good hands. We have been there at various meal times and the food always looks delicious and arranged in such a way that he can help himself with dignity.
My mother has been in Parkfield House Nursing Home for only a couple of months following a fall which resulted in a broken leg. I was a little apprehensive at first, having heard all the horror stories about care homes but I needn't have worried. Parkfield has developed a culture of putting the welfare of residents first. The staff are great and are keen to involve me in discussions about her wellbeing, always taking my concerns seriously, followed by prompt action. I'm amazed at how well they've got to know my mum in such a short time and the patience they've shown, as my mum who had been refusing her food before moving to Parkfield almost immediately began eating and drinking well. All this has given me the assurance I need, that mum is in good hands and receiving the best care. Mum has settled in well and her broad smiles demonstrate that she loves it. I cannot thank Parkfield House staff enough.
My mum was in Parkfield Home for around 2 months before passing away. I came over from Australia for 3 weeks to see her, I spent every day of those 3 weeks with my mum. I have worked in this industry for 20 years and I have never seen what I saw there, day in, day out. My mum was not only cared for but she was treated with respect, dignity, understanding, caring and love each and every day. Nothing was ever too much for any of the staff, everything they did for my mum was with a smile on their face and a beautiful heart. The person-centred care really stood out from the manager, nurses, carers, cleaning staff and even the handyman. My mum and our family were truly blessed to have spent my mum's last months with such beautiful people, I will be forever grateful to each and every one of you.
Very responsive and friendly carer team and activities leads. Only a small number of residents but the team work hard to maintain interactions with residents. Regular residents/staff sessions also allow for feedback and collaboration. The nursing team and manager are engaged at every level and the central admin team provide prompt support.
Wonderful, caring, friendly, efficient and welcoming nursing home. Dad's nursing care needs have changed in recent months with a number of hospital visits, and each time there is a change this is adapted to with no problem, and he is always welcomed back from hospital warmly. The staff are always caring, polite and compassionate to residents; and welcoming to visitors. The rooms and facilities are very comfortable and well maintained, Dad has his own paintings up in his room which makes it feel more homely for him. The food is wonderful (Dad's words), and the programme of activities is excellent and varied.
A new manager is now in place and her and the current staff have all been very helpful and the issues raised previously are currently being addressed to our satisfaction and we are very happy with the care our loved one is receiving.
My mum-in-law has been at Parkfield House Nursing Home for many years now, we feel her care has been very good and do not worry about any aspect of her care. There does not appear to be a high turnover of staff which is reassuring. Food always looked excellent when we accompanied Mum into the dining room, all areas are clean and nicely decorated. Very expensive though since we lost Mum's funding. Would recommend though.
Our Mum, who has dementia, took a fall back in August 2021. We were lucky to find such a marvellous Nursing Home back in October 2021 and we are still glad of the decision we made to place her at Parkfield. All the staff are so friendly and caring and you can tell they really bond with the residents. The standards are excellent and we, as a family, felt comfortable with Parkfield as soon as we walked in - there is a homely atmosphere there and you just know that your family member is at the centre of everything that the staff do for them. A massive feeling of reassurance for us.
After a fall, our elderly mother was unable to live alone in her flat any longer, as she would have preferred. We were very fortunate to find a nursing home as good as Parkfield House to provide the care and attention that she now needs. The management is responsive, and in particular, I have been impressed by the steps taken to protect residents and staff from Covid. The senior nursing staff are very professional and humane and they communicate well. The carers show great kindness in a demanding job. The social activities for the residents are excellent, they really bring the home to life. Our mother is gradually adapting to this big change in her life. For us in the family, it is reassuring to know that she is receiving all the care she needs and so much kindness in her new environment.
My Mum became a resident of Parkfield House in December 2019 and was very impressed with the staff both admin and carers. When the pandemic hit I was very impressed with the home's reaction during this very difficult time. Therefore, I would have no hesitation in recommending Parkfield House to family and friends.
I found staff very helpful and pleasant. They have also assisted in my everyday care. I would have liked to have achieved more mobility and been able to benefit from some of the activities.
We cannot express how grateful we are to the staff at Parkfield House for the loving care they gave our mum during her two years there. The professionalism and commitment shown by the manager and the nurses when she first arrived (being much more ill than we had realized) was the sole reason for her amazing recovery. This standard of care continued throughout her time there. When the family were not allowed to visit during covid, the staff ensured we received daily Skype calls with our mum, a lifeline for us, as was the knowledge that they had become her family and that she loved them as much as they loved her. Every resident at Parkfield House is treated with kindness, compassion and dignity. That compassion was extended to my family when our mum was receiving end-of-life, ensuring her final journey was peaceful, pain-free and dignified and that she was surrounded by her family. To all the staff at Parkfield House, we can never thank you enough for everything you did for her.
