View Full Details of Normanhurst Residential Care HomeFantastic place and lovely caring people. Can't recommend highly enough. Nothing is too much trouble and my aunt loved her time here. Also the food is excellent and her room was really lovely. Thanks so much
I have been extremely pleased with mum's care. The staff have been wonderful and helpful with any queries I have had. Mum is very happy and seems to have settled in fine. Enjoys playing bingo and other activities.
Have been visiting on a regular basis for 1 year and the below options reflect everything I feel. Would certainly recommend.
My father will be moving in permanently shortly and on our 1st visit, it was very apparent how passionate and kind the staff are at Normanhurst. My father was very impressed and he can be very difficult to please, so well done to all. Met some residents too who were all so very friendly and welcoming to my father - I think we have been very lucky in finding such a wonderful residential home. Thank you.
In the time that I have lived here for 2.5 years, I have been asked my opinion on various topics. The staff are par excellent, some of the most polite and helpful people you may ever meet. We never leave the dining room wanting, a variety of types and alternatives to the main menu. Entertainment is excellent, the chance to strain the brain on Tuesday's quiz or dance and sing on a Thursday, and quite a few games and exercises on odd days. Try the confection on the higher or lower game. Thank you all.
Living in Salford with my aunt in Bexhill, it was difficult when during a spell in hospital my aunt would need to relocate from her flat to a care home. She had already identified Normanhurst Residential Care Home as her preferred home. I contacted the manager who expedited my aunt's relocation to Normanhurst. I visited last week to find my aunt happy and well-settled. Communication from staff has been very good.
My mother was reluctant to leave her flat. She will return home shortly after three weeks of respite. During that time, she has been difficult, but the staff have been brilliant. The family hope that she will accept that she is better off at the Normanhursy and return.
My aunt has settled in extremely well at Normanhurst. The staff have been so friendly and caring. They even arranged to take her personally out to get a seafood treat for her supper when she was 'resident of the day' recently. There are plenty of activities to stimulate her and all the staff and other residents are always welcoming for family members to join in. The location is perfect, on the seafront with great views.
I can't praise the staff and owners enough. We have had many years of experience dealing with them, not only were our 'mothers' there, but also my partner (for respite) and my wife's aunty. We have been to other nursing homes before settling on Normanhurst and to say they go up and above what is required is no exaggeration. From home-made food to excellent care, I would have no hesitation in recommending them.
Well-trained staff. Very friendly and kind. Keeps family well informed. Good food. Clean and tidy and good activities. Lovely location and is good for walking along the promenade if the weather is good. Great facilities.
I opted to spend a week at Normanhurst for respite following surgery. Proved to be one of my very best decisions. There is no praise high enough for the care and attention I received from every member of staff that I came into contact with. Nothing was too much trouble even at 2 am when I accidentally knocked over the bed table scattering everything sitting on it. I even had a welcome cup of tea given to me. The bedroom and bathroom were bright, clean and welcoming. The entire experience was almost like a family visit to long unseen relatives. While it is true the building could use some TLC, the most important ingredient to consider when choosing a safe place for yourself or a loved one is there in multiples and in common to all carers and staff. i.e high levels of dedication and commitment to those in need of good and loving care.
Wonderfully thoughtful and loving staff have given my relative a place to live that she adores. She feels safe and very well cared for. Her room feels like home from home and she is extremely happy with her meals. The company with staff and residents is something that she values enormously.
A wonderful environment for my mum to be in. The staff are always helpful and take time and care to listen to the family's worries. Lots of opportunities for Mum to be stimulated and have a friendly chat.
I am very impressed with the facility, the situation by the sea, but mostly, the staff. My friend is quite a handful and has found herself in great pain, but the staff a very patient and tolerant. Also, a high level of communication with myself and others around our friend's needs and issues.
Mum has been at the Normanhurst Residential Care Home for just over a year now. From the staff in reception, the carers day and night, to the office staff and the manager, Mum has received fantastic care and understanding. They all have such patience and always go that extra mile to make sure Mum is comfortable and has what she needs. It's been reassuring to me and my wife to see Mum settled and happy there. She loves that it's near the seafront, town and her friends and family. We too have found all the office staff and carers communication with us, brilliant. Thank you for looking after Mum so well!
My mum is so happy being looked after so well by the staff at the Normanhurst. She loves them as much as they love her. I live in Ireland and ring regularly. She constantly tells me how well she has been looked after and how the staff can't do enough for her. Every time I am over for a visit, I see firsthand the care and kindness provided to all the residents. The care is absolutely first-class, including all medical and personal needs. It is an absolute blessing to know Mum is so safe and happy.
Always a welcome when I visit my mum, staff our lovely. This has been my mums home for five years and she loves it. I wouldn't change anything there is, always lots of activities for her to join in and I join in sometimes as well. The menus change everyday and always a good choice.
Staff are always friendly when we visit. The activities and entertainment are very good. Nice families can join in also. The menu choices are fantastic and the cleanliness is very good. Communication is good between myself and the home.
Such a lovely place, with lovely care. Always made me welcome when I come to visit my sister. Really feels like it's all about the care, unlike other places I have visited. Very happy.
I couldn't be more pleased with the Normanhurst Residential Care Home and how all the staff there look after my mum so well. Her last few years living on her own were such a constant worry for me with her having frequent falls and taking too many meds and at risk from a thieving neighbour. Now I know she is always safe and very well looked after - and fed! The communication from the staff to keep me abreast of Mum's health is also extremely good. I highly recommend the care home.
